Good variety on the menu. Friendly staff, good service(Nicki A). Love the décor; very bistro with its murals, fixtures, etc. Accepts vouchers. Street parking is metered but affordable at $ 1 for 2 hours. We’ll be back!

Dinner out with the wife. Haven’t been here in about 10 years, but then it was called something else. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the wife had the Teriyaki Salmon with rice. The food was fabulous and the wait staff was excellent, even the trainee was great.

Breakfast was amazing. I recommend getting the country fried steak and eggs. Very tasty with lots of flavor. On top of the great food I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service. Most def. 5 stars for my second visit.

Visiting and someone suggested this restaurant. Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak and fried green tomatoes. It was actual steak meat and seasoned well with melted Swiss. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, fried crispy with thin breaking. I had the«Special» burger of the day. It had fried onion strings, A1 steak sauce and blue cheese crumbles and I ordered a side of fried okra. Everything was delicious. Beautiful painted walls and great service.

We walked in was seated by a very nice young lady. Waited and waited and no one ever came to the table. We left walked over to Kirby G’s. First time at PJ’s and it will be my time

BEST fried green tomatoes! My only complaint is they never update the menu or else I’d give 5 stars! Nice place for a good quiet dinner during the week and mindful waitstaff!

My family and I were walking around the square and had seen PJs a few times but had not tried it so we went this weekend it was a good family friendly place that had live music, my wife had the steak but she was thinking it was cooked on a grill and not an open flame because of how it tasted to her. The place was kind of pricey, and the menu was a little of everything lol it had stuff you would find at a japanese restaurant but clearly its not japanese lol. The waiters were fast and friendly and the restaurant looked like something out of new orleans. It was good.

Great little place! We were there on a Saturday night, it wasn’t crowded at all, and we can’t figure out why. I almost don’t want to give it a positive review because then maybe people will start going there and ruin it. Adorable inside, great location on the corner, quiet but actually good music. We ordered beers; the wine list isn’t bad at all but the beer selection could be bigger. Egg roll appetizer, very nice!!! I ordered beef tenderloin in a mushroom sauce. Great flavor, cooked perfectly, but I wish the medallions had been slightly thinner. Fried green tomatoes for a side — unheard of! Very well done, and I’m picky about my FGT! Hubby had a roast beef Po’ Boy; sounds weird, tastes good. There were a couple of other things on the menu I want to try, chicken Marsala, a sandwich or two. Our bartender was super; we loved that it *wasn’t* crowded, so we got to chat with him! Anyway, if I could balance my review just… right…so that enough people go there to keep them in business, but not so many that I have to wait for a table ;) That would be perfect.

It’s ok. Food is pretty good, but they seem to be in the midst of an identity crisis. .is it a bar, restaurant, bistro with outdoor seating, club with live music? In desperate need of renovation, the décor is pretty darn 80s. Service was great, which makes up for any oddly out of date décor.

Hit or miss, mostly misses. This place struggles to find its own identity surrounded by more established and market specific restaurants. It isn’t a diner, a bar, or a family restaurant yet, if you asked PJ’s, it would say that it’s all of these things. You wouldn’t leave PJ’s raving about any single dish or the overall selection on the menu. The food isn’t BAD, it just isn’t that good. Tonight the water tasted bad, there were no prices on the kids menus, the chicken Parmesan was bland and forgettable, and the waitress brought me a coke zero instead of a diet coke. No big deal. When I asked her if she might have made a mistake, her response was, «we don’t have diet coke and most people can’t tell the difference.» PJ’s sweet spot is lunch during the week. I would avoid dinner altogether.

A local café located on the square of McDonough. Parking on the square is pretty horrible but is not metered on the weekend so feel free to park at the first sight of a spot. The interior is a comfortable simple atmosphere sparsely decorated and not over crowded with seating. We were greeted and seated rather quickly even though it was early. Our waitress was attentive and friendly although easily distracted once tables started to fill. The menu is a mix of American and Southern traditional dishes mixed with specials and unique combinations featuring salads, sandwiches, and dinner plates. While a simple fair the items seem fresh and prepared completely by hand. The overall quality is good but not spectacular with the exception of the fried green tomatoes these were exceptional. Would recommend stopping in for a quick bite or snack versus a full meal as pricing is a tad high although it is a mostly captive audience within the square. Overall it is a decent place to eat with good quality for a slightly higher price.

Overpriced, non-accomodating, bland. Servers don’t know the menu, not even the«specials.» Random kitchen personnel«pitch in» by bringing food to tables — the wrong tables. Manager/owner wasn’t very friendly. Atmosphere is a weird mix of simultaneous attempts to be classy, small town diner, bar, romantic, family restaurant, etc. WHAT is this place? Regardless of its identity, it is overpriced and the food isn’t very good. I don’t mind paying twenty dollars or more for dinner, but flavorless chicken and egg noodles just doesn’t cut it. Unfortunately, the bread was the best part of the meal. Bakery?

PROS: Good food, friendly fast service, and moderately priced meal. CONS: Limited parking area near café, traffic makes it difficult to exit parking spaces, and parking spaces are metered(extra cost). We enjoyed the experience. Lunch for four, ran about $ 60, with TIP.

Over rated & over priced… as one review stated this food could be made at home and be just as good if not better. I’m surprised at the other reviews on here, maybe I should open a café if they think this place is so great lol!

Food was ok, service was ok. Beer was not cold but rather cool and warmed very quickly. I felt like I could cook the same food at my house.

When I lived in McDonough growing up I would frequent PJ’s Café quite often. It was one of the few restaurants on the historic square for years. The prices and food are both good. I still drive back just for their grilled chicken sandwich! The atmosphere is casual and friendly and has a great view of the Square.
