Dunkin’ Donuts

This is a Dunkin Donuts just off route 81 (N/​S) in NY State. Exit 10. IN the same building is a sub shop and a very nice clean restroom area, as well as a gas station (Pit Stop). The Pit Stop gas station is one with lower gas if you pay cash, so you know what to do — bring CASH (but they do take credit if needed).
This location is a favorite with truckers, so you will always see trucks there too. It is also a stop for school buses, so if you have the timing just off you may wait a while at the DD while the kids order the Mocha Late Half Caf whatever… Once or twice when this happened to me, I just stepped to the front, said «Id like a medium coffee, light and sweet, and its worked. I suppose if I was getting something complicated then it might not, but who can argue with a simple cup of coffee at a coffee shop?
This is a great place to stop if you need a break, there is a convenience store there and a sub shop of some sort. Easy on and off the highway.

Please be patient with these folks that work at this Dunkin Donuts. Located off the rural stretch of Hwy 81, south of Syracus, is this pit stop option to take a bathroom break and get gas (Citgo), sub (Quizo’s), and/​or coffee, donuts, or bagels (Dunkin Donuts). Originally from the East Coast but now consider California home, I take every opportunity to get Dunkin Donuts. Now back to my original statement. I’m going to give the counter girl the benefit of the doubt as being new. The order was a #3 combo of toasted bagel with cream cheese on the side and a medium coffee with just cream plus a second medium coffee with cream and one sugar. The total came out to be just under $ 9 which I know inflation jacks up prices but this was a bit ridiculous. After rebuffing the amount, the manager corrected the cash register entry to remove the charge for the phantom, unordered second bagel order. No biggie, new total was $ 6.20.
Gave the girl $ 20 which she punched in and the reported change flashed $ 13.80 on the cash register. Mom, being Mom, handed a quarter to the girl to cut down on the change. The girl literally panicked by repeatedly mumbling that she had already entered $ 20 and froze holding the $ 20 bill in my hand and the quarter in the other. The manager was called over for the second time and quietly spoke that $ 14.05 should be given. The color to the girl’s face returned and we got our ordered goods quickly as DD aptly does and now
we are back on the highway.
