I experienced a very odd transaction that the representative, Rachel(may have been a Manager or assistant manager) handled very well. There was a lady(60’s or so) who just ordered before me who decided to stick around right by the register and continue to ask Rachel questions and also make comments on my transaction. Everything I ordered she chimed in…“oh I love the Chicken Chipotle”, «oh the Panera rewards sound great!». She seemingly loved Panera and it’s products, but had no self awareness on how inappropriate she was being. Rachel continued to help me order and also acknowledged the ladies questions and concerns. She could have made this a very awkward and tense situation by confronting the lady or asking the lady to step awat so she could help other customers. Instead she smiled and we both laughed it off. She also made sure to come over and apology later and let me know she did her best not to make it awkward. Kudos to her. I visit this location weekly and will continue.

Awesome food! We go here at least once a week. Pricey. The parking lot is always full and the road it is located on sucks to turn left out of. I am really picky and always modify my food orders and this Panera never has a problem with my requests to change my food or give me extra forks or extra dressing for my salad. This location is okay for cleanliness. The tables are always wiped off and the dinnerware dump stations are always clean. I have found the Employees behind the register are a bit lacking. Its frustrating when the cashier asks you 3 times if the order is for«here or to go» or rushes you.

The only place where you can blow $ 12 on a half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chicken soup, drink and cookie.

Used to be really good, but recently their prices have went up and their service has went down. Will no longer go out of my way to get food from here. Very unimpressed.

Lame situation, ends well. I ordered at the bread counter, the person behind the counter Rachel, was very friendly. I ordered a you pick 2, with the steak and white cheddar panini, and chicken and wild rice soup, with a piece of bread. She was able to look up my Panera card via phone number… YAY… and she put my name in, versus a pager number. I setup somewhere, get on my macbook, and get on Facebook. What else is there to do, right? Fast forward approx. 10 minutes, and I haven’t heard my name called. I go up to the counter with my receipt. Apparently, someone grabbed my food. Boo! The two behind the counter started to re-make my food. Rachel walks over, and follows up. I explain my situation, and she offers to bring my food to my table. Yay! She also brings an «apology cookie» which is just their normal chocolate chip cookie, as a way of apologizing for the inconvenience. Double yay! — She actually even asked if I liked Chocolate chip, so I assume she would have traded it out, if I said no. So, I dig in. Soup is good, bread was good. Sandwich I wasn’t a big fan of. I dissected everything to the point that there will be no «leftover report» All in all, other than the price being slightly high, it’s a nice place to come, to get out of the office for a bit.

Panera to me is one of those places that does a good job of describing their food and making it look good in commericals but it never turns out as good in real life. Their salads aren’t as crispy and colorful as they describe, the sandwiches are smooshed and not as mouth watering as when they talk about them on the radio… It just leaves little to the imagination. but this one does a great job. I have been here a couple times and the sandwich(Turkey Artichoke Panina) was really well done. Our whole table was happy with what we ordered. My mom got the chocoloate Bobka(name that Seinfeld episode) and it was yummy! Soft and chocolately and a good sized portion. I have been to other Panera’s that are just so busy they crank out orders and your food looks like it was slopped together, but this one did it right.

I don’t think I’ve ever had bad service here. Panera actually has a decent amount of gluten free items as well. Ask for the allergan book to see what you can have, and talk to them about how to prevent cross contamination. My only gripe here are the annoying youngsters that hang around for the free internet. Yeah, I’m old. ;)

Grabbed a half sandwich and a bowl of Chicken Noodle for dinner. The Almand Chicken Salad sandwich was very tasty and the soup hit the spot as well. I wasn’t enamored with the choices of soup, but I’m picky. The kids had fast food since they like it better and the prices, even for kids meals, is beyond what I would like to pay for food that may not be eaten.

Panera Bread in McHenry is located across from Target in a little strip of stores. It is at the end closet to a cemetery. When a customer first walks into Panera Bread they can smell the scent of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked breads that linger through the air. As a fateful customer I look for an affordable sit down restaurant, relaxing, atmosphere, having excellent service and also a clean environment. When I go to Panera Bread I always get the You Pick Two with the Bacon Turkey Bravo Sandwich and Broccoli Cheddar soup. The dish is made behind a counter just in front of you where it is freshly made. I recommend going to Panera Bread in McHenry because of the quality of service that a customer will receive and also being greeted just as you walk in. Families and young children will also enjoy this sit down restaurant where they can order kid friendly food.
