I coulda swore I wrote a review back in, like, 2009 when they catered some party platters. Hmm… (It was NOT a good experience.)
Well, I’m not a big Subway eater (something about them dyeing the bread dough), but given my faster food options in McHenry are limited, I find it to be a «healthier» choice.
I’ve been here twice in the past few weeks due to having procured 3 Subway gift cards from donating my bodily fluids (thanks Heartland Blood Center!).
The first time I came (⁶⁄₁₈), a woman made my sub. She was pretty skimpy on the toppings for my Veggie Delite and I had to ask for more. She put on a teeny bit more. (I don’t have any meat here, folks; just veggies. Soooo, I’d kind of like more than a mouthful of bread please!) When I went to pay, the man (owner?) kept asking me if I had cash. I told him, «No, I have a gift card.» «You have cash?» …“No…I have a gift card.” Erm… he didn’t seem pleased.
I went again today and everything was fine: I got enough toppings and didn’t have to beg for any more. I just wish the condiments (mustard) were aimed more towards the middle of the sub, because it all pushed out to the front/​sliced opening when wrapped up. Oh well. At least the woman didn’t hassle me about my gift card. :)

A small, clean Subway franchise located conveniently off of IL 31.

Nice clean shop, courteous staff.
This visit was better than my last one about a year ago. At that time the food was ok but the service was lacking. I’m happy to report that service has improved since then.
$ 5 footlong special right now, so that’s a plus. 7.25 for the meal deal.
