Very impressed with food quality and service. This is an authentic best of Mexico — not standard fare Tex Mex. Molé sauce and ceviche were amazing. Best pitcher margarita deal anywhere!

GREAT place for authentic Mexican selections prepared in several regional styles. We had a «Brocheta» which was«finished» at our table with a tequila flambé . Meat was delightful and very tender. Salsas were not the Tex-Mex variety and much more subtle. We would definitely return to sample the rest of the menu. Oh yeah, the staff was great & helpful while not too intrusive!

Disappointing. I have been here 3 times and will not be returning. I keep coming back because of its location but after the service my husband and j had the other night I will not go back. The food is good one you get it, but even with 5 waiters and only 3 tables it’s hard to get anyone’s attention. Last time I was here my husband and I ended up leaving before I could finish my wine because it took about 15 minutes to go and we didn’t see our waiter for another 15 minutes. We ended up next door at rye and had a great meal!

Yummy yummy! Sunday brunch With friends couldn’t have been better! The queso fundito is a must have. The chef was concerned that I ordered my juevos rancheros without salsa(can’t handle spicy any more) so she sent our server out with a sample of mild sauce. That’s looking out for your customers!

You have to eat here!!! This is a must! True Traditional Mexican food. Not your regular hole in the wall Mexican restaurant(nothing wrong with hole in the wall) or TexMex. You can get the best of both worlds. Not a modern twist on Mexican cuisine, this is truly Traditional Mexican food from all regions of Mexico. We can’t say enough great things about the flavor filled dishes. Thank you Tony for the awesome service and a great first experience! We will definitely be going back!

They are many Mexican restaurants everywhere, but this one is special, first because of the delicious authentic Mexican food that you can’t find in many restaurants, than comes the good service and this place is so beautiful inside, nice location, authentic Mexican food, can’t wait to try again,

Not sure what all the«typical Mexican food» type comments are all about since we found Bien Salsa to be refreshingly different. We’ve been four times or so in the last 4 months and ordered the Sabanita plate, Carne las Brasas, Arrachera, and tacos de camarones all of which are excellent. Service has always been top notch and quick and the ambience is classy but casual with trendier Latin type music in the background. Nothing typical about Bien Salsa in my estimation but excellent Mexican flavors to be had!

I was recently in McKinney for a business trip and I was in the lookout for an authentic Mexican restaurant. After walking around downtown for a little bit, we stumbled upon Bien Salsa and decided to give it a try. Beginning with the waitress, which by the way had a very unique name(something along the line of Zaera, Zai), the service was amazing. We ordered the bien salsa dinner and it was plenty for all of us. The steak fajitas were really good and the chorizo was also amazing. We also had a side of chips and salsa and that was great as well! After all of that I was really happy that I got to show my partners some real Mexican food with great taste and they were also impressed by the food. I will definitely go back to bien salsa if I have another chance and would recommend it to anyone that is around the area!

This restaurant is beautiful, elegant but simple. Authentic Mexican food. «Tres leches cake» is delicious! Little pricey but food and drinks are good and the service is excellent. Friday evening latin music to dance salsa, merengue, bachata, etc.

It is an okay place. The food is pretty good and fresh, but something you can also get at any typical Mexican restaurant– nothing that really sticks out. Their chips and salsa are good. Drinks are not all that. I would only go back if I were in the area and was craving Mexican– and nothing else was available.

Great lunch specials. Dinner is pricey. Pork lunch tacos are delicious. You have to pay for chips and salsa BUT they make their own salsa, so in my view $ 2.50 for homemade salsa is better than free Pace picante. Queso fundido is good(though very filling and rich as queso fundido usually is). Mexican corn as a side dish is great. Service and décor are always good. Nice walking around the location in downtown McKinney.

I was expecting typical Tex-Mex and was pleasantly surprised! Amazing food, not heavy, full of flavor. This place is a must-visit.

Atmosphere, convenient location. Food is awesome. Be sure to save room for chirps! They’re filled with chocolate. Chicken mole is tender and the sauce is warm and flavorful. The beef kabob thing is set on fire and charred at the table. Fascinating to watch. Def a showstopper. Rice is bland but perfect for mixing with the mole! Service is exemplary.

First time customers. Went in expecting the worst but they did very well. Originally we went downtown to find the hole in the wall Mexican place called«Cookies». We wanted simple, homemade Mexican. It looked out of business so we drove to the square. We read the mixed reviews of this place and were nervous. It was 3pm, cold, rainy and we were desperate for food. We were 3 adults and a child. My grilled steak burrito, black beans and rice were very good. Being the only guy, my wife and mother in law each had the enchilada– yes, one enchilada on the plate. For a lady it was enough food, maybe not for a guy, but it was the lunch special. Bottom line– not simple Tex-Mex so be prepared. More of a fancy, smaller portion, slightly upscale place. My only negative was the order of chips and salsa for 4 was ridiculously tiny. Barely a handful of chips. Two bowls of chips is standard, this place gave the impression its clients are all underweight runway models or New York haute couture foodies. Food and service were good, portions way too small, stingy on the chips and salsa.

Be prepared to pay for chips and salsa. We got the Flamedo Queso and the Burrito lunch. Both were good and the burrito was big enough to share… so we did and were full when we were done.

Authentic Mexican food along the lines of a Gloria’s, though in my opinion even better. The shrimp ceviche is exquisite and I also ordered the shrimp enchiladas. I can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

My wife and I came here on a recommendation of friends. The food was amazing! The food is truly authentic Mexican food, with the menu broken down by the different regions of Mexico. The food is fantastic, service is great and the atmosphere is awesome! The tequila steak kabobs with bacon, peppers and onions is to die for! This is now one of my favorite places of all time!

My favorite prior review started out with ‘if you want tex mex and an oversized margarita this is not the place for you’. Ditto to that. I love the old building downtown McKinney which houses the delicious authentic Mexican fare. I had a Bacardi mojito which was delicious. Second beverage was a house margarita on the rocks which was too sweet for my liking. I had the lobster enchiladas for dinner which were delightful. Three small enchiladas filled with vegetables, topped with a rich red sauce and a lobster tail. My only complaints were the enchiladas themselves were lukewarm. Also I asked for street corn instead of the green bean side. When our meal came out were were advised they were out of street corn and made it in a dish instead. My dished street corn consisted of cooked frozen corn with street corn toppings. If you’re out of fresh corn on the cob, frozen or canned are not a replacement. Kid tip: they has a four item kid menu.

This is Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. Everything does not come smothered in cheese, so be prepared. You do have to buy your chips and salsa here, they don’t just magically appear like at most places. I did have a check in offer for a free order though. The salsa verde is my favorite, but I love that every time the salsa has been slightly different, depending on the season and the chiles they get in. Presentation and portion sizes are good, not HUGE. You should definitely be able to finish your food and not feel hungry or overstuffed. Tacos Guadalajara– SOGOOD. Crispy tortilla filled with soft fluffy potato and then fried then topped with moist pork, pickled red onion, cabbage, beans, and some other delicious stuff. Who cares whats really on it, just order it. Enmoladas — Chicken filled tortillas topped with the only Mole sauce I’ve ever enjoyed. It was not too sweet, with lots of subtly developing flavors. The whole plate tasted different and delicious with each bite i took. Tacos Campechanos — steak and chorizo, which they make in house! What the what?! Super flavorful but not greasy, and it came with a side of street corn on the cob which I, the self proclaimed corn hater, really enjoyed. Probably because it’s slathered in sauce so tasty it’ll make you want a second piece. Service is friendly and efficient, keeping waters filled and checking up on tables without intruding. Drinks are strong and tasty, though my sangria from one visit to another was drastically different, not even similar in color or flavor. Maybe they’re using up wine that needs to move instead of following a set recipe? I don’t know why but this place never seems busy. In fact, I’ve never had to wait for a table, even at prime weekend dinner times. I would love to see them open up the second floor for dance lessons or a cooking class or something quirky and fun, something to get more people in the door, because I’m screwed if I have to learn how to make those tacos myself.
