Rice Pot Xpress

We thought it was better than average take out food. Portion size was as expected and the food was all hot and fresh. We will certainly try it again. General Tso’s chicken was our favorite. The spring rolls were good too.

Rice was good however, the rest of the food is really salty. I will not come back to dine in, the staff is not professional. They act childish. For the price of what we ate was not worth it. We left our plates full of food on the table.

Great prices, quick service and good food make this a great place to stop for lunch. Food was ready in less than five minutes even though it was a special order. Served hot and was very tasty.

Got food delivered yesterday — no issues — called today to place a new order and was advised that they would not deliver because they were too busy! Just lost my business…

Close to home, must try it.
Everything I ordered was good. Will definitely become a regular.

This place is really good! Great value, good food. My new go-​to Asian food restaurant! BONUS: The people there are super sweet and not condescending!!!

I ordered take out and it was not great. The fried rice was stale and sooooo oily. I was a little disgusted by it. The chicken and broccoli was ok but a bit on the bland side. Most likely won’t return. There are other better Chinese takeouts.

The food is good when made fresh. I used to order from them a lot. I had to give them a break because I wasn’t receiving fresh food. which I paid $ 10.00 per entrée, $ 3.00 delivery charge, plus a tip. I recently ordered, I specifically asked for fresh shrimp fried rice, but instead I received old rice that was heated up. I will not order from Rice Pot Express anymore. Because I am wasting money when I have to trash the food, and I don’t want to get sick. If you decide to order from them, order a speciality item so they prepare fresh. Rather than ordering a popular item that’s sitting out all day. I called for delivery, when I was told it would take an hour, and they only had one delivery guy. I asked if my food will be hot and fresh on arrival. Then she proceeded to tell me that they don’t deliver in my area anymore. I wish they would have told me this sooner because it would have saved me a lot of money.

My husband and I always get sesame chicken and fried rice. On the menu we saw «Honey Sesame Chicken» which (obviously) was assumed to be different than our regular main dish. We ordered it anyway, and shared it with my daughter, too. It was probably the best sesame chicken I’ve ever had, and my three-​year-​old had no problems eating all of the chicken that I cut up for her. Kids that age usually fight the food you put on the table, but I didn’t even have to ask her to finish her bites. We just moved to this area, and now we know our go-​to chinese food take-​out.

Great prices on their lunch specials. Their dinner can get pricey though. Their take out is fantastic and is always ready on time.

I’ve tried almost every Chinese food place in McKinney, and this one has by far been my favorite when it comes to express Chinese. I am a huge fan of Sesame Chicken and they definitely get it right at this place. My wife wasn’t too crazy about her Kung Pao Chicken, but said she would go back again to try another entrée. Putting it on the calendar for next week. :-)

I came in to pick up lunch after my nail appointment. I ordered the chicken broccoli, but I asked for it spicy. It was delicious. The broccoli was crisp and fresh along with the carrots. It had a good amount of heat, but not burn your tongue. I was very surprised by this find. I think I have a new tradition.

Love this spot. I come to this store every Tuesday. Great customer service and the food is good. Good lunch specials, and the food comes out quick and hot.
When I come here, I usually order the sesame chicken or the orange chicken. They are served with good portions of rice and a spring roll. For the quantity and the price can’t really get much better. Even in comparison to Panda Express down the road, I think this place gives you more bang for your buck.

Quick Tips: Came here with Anita D. because we are fatties and had a little time before our nail appointment next door. The egg drop and wonton soup are good. The shrimp fried rice was delicious with a good portion of shrimp. Great prices and really great service.
Food: 1.79 for very good egg drop soup. One of those soups it is worth burning your mouth for. The shrimp was good quality and really generous portions in their shrimp friend rice.
Service: This is a place where you take note of great service. Really nice girl in the front, very attentive to us.
Ambiance: Spacious and clean. Clean bathrooms are always an extra check in my book! (Maybe I’ve been in New York too long). Very casual order and sit down.

I like this place for 3 reasons:
1) If you eat in, they give you real plates, bowls, utensils, etc. even though it is basically fast food.
2) The combination lo mein is great and the portion is big enough for 2. The egg drop soup is great basic egg drop. yum.
3) You can make up stuff not on the menu (at least the other location in Anna let me). I asked, where is the chicken and mushrooms? She said, we can make it for you! PERFECT! thank you!
I cannot tell you about the rest of the menu, but what i order makes me happy. I dont think I would enjoy this place as much getting it to go. It would probably be cold and not as good.

Well, my daughter requests take out for her and her friends twice. Delivery — both times. I am not going here. What she orders is her business, I guess. I just pay. Once last week, that being the rainy weekend and then this last Saturday. I think I gave $ 40 to my daughter each of the times.
In both instances, the food comes. Not real timely. The fried rice and fortune cookies are eaten. The sesame chicken last time was so fried and greasy, that only about 25% of it was eaten. The dogs got the rest. For whatever reason, they will eat anything. As long as they get outsides within the hour, it is all good.
The other concoction I remember was tempura shrimp that looked like it might have been dug up. I do recall a couple vegetable deals that did not look too bad. With the exception of the broccoli, I kind of wondered if it the material was canned and then dumped into Wok or whether it was MSG and put back into the Wok.
Frankly, they ought to outlaw delivery service and has some kind of guarantee to take back what is not fresh or eaten. Chinese food and delivery in McKinney has not been working for us.

I hate it when the places closest to me and convenient to get to just don’t make the cut. Rice Pot just isn’t very good chinese food.
The sauces are pretty good but underneath that is poor quality chicken that’s been overcooked to rubbery, gross consistency. I was really dissapointed with my food and only choked it down because I was starving after a 5 hour drive.
The only time hubby has ordered delivery I snacked on the edamame and fried rice and couldn’t bring myself to try the chicken again despite his pleas that it was a «different order».
Maybe one day I’ll go back and they’ll impress me, until then I’m sticking with something else.
