The cake was a big hit at the wedding. It looked beautiful and tasted great. After booking we had some communication issues with Sweet Art and were kind of on the fence about using them, but they came through in the end and we are happy we went with them. We had a McKinney wedding and wanted to use local vendors. I was living overseas at the time so I was only in McKinney for one day. I’m not sure if they do cake tastings or not, but they definitely were not able to do one while I was in town so I was told to buy cupcakes if I’d like to try their flavors. We ended up booking them. It’s a small business and seems like there are only 1 or 2 people there that know about their wedding side. I initially paid the deposit and discussed cake options in person over a year out from the wedding. Then went into the store a month or so before the wedding to make the final payment and finalize the cake choices. A few weeks before the wedding we emailed asking for cake stand options and to see if we could get photos. They replied back a very nondescript response with no photos and also said that I needed to finalize my cake choices, which as I mentioned, I had done that in person previously. Calling didn’t seem to work well so we make a long drive to go in person to actually get the full information. The staff didn’t know anything about the stands so we had to wait a bit for the owner to arrive. The stand options weren’t really anything we wanted so we ended up supplying our own. It seemed like it was always a big issue to communicate with them about wedding things specifically. In the end the cake was beautiful and delicious. They worked really well with our florist(The Stalk Market, McKinney). It was touch and go, but we are happy that we went with them and would hire them again if given the chance.

We recently had a work event and Sweet Art was kind enough to make 3 dozen cookies with only 3 days notice. The custom cookies were a huge hit and this bakery is clearly the hard work of a dedicated business owner.

Terrible customer service. Left two messages to order a birthday cake and never received a return call. When I called back 3 days later and told them I never got a return call, the girl just said«ok what do you want?» Very rude! She never apologized and acted like she could care less. I will never use this bakery again. Very poor customer service!!!

Sorely disappointed! This bakery is overpriced, unprepared, and untrustworthy. This bakery was recommended by a coworker who was so pleased that she ordered cakes for two weddings. Unfortunately, my cake tasting experience was a stark contrast from hers. My fiancé and I were offered 5 dry cupcakes that were noticeably old with cold, stiff icing. We did like the classic white cake. Future hubby ate most of it and I wanted another taste just to be sure, but I was told there was no more available. The associate stated that they could only bake a certain number of «cupcakes» for the tastings. Interestingly, this is similar to a previous Unilocal reviewer who had a poor experience. This was also very different from a tasting at another popular DFW bakery, in which we had so much moist, amazing cake that we couldn’t finish it! To top off the experience, we were repeatedly told that they didn’t have many of their faux cakes for design examples, because the owner had taken them to a bridal expo. The associate even told us that the tiny, unappealing plate our cupcakes were presented on was not the usual large platter used for tastings. It was apparently taken to the expo as well. ***After I compared notes with my coworker, I was shocked to learn that she was provided a fresh, «moist» PIECEOFCAKE(not cupcake) in every flavor available. For the one flavor that was not available, she was given a CAKEPOP. She was also surprised when I informed her of my experience.*** I will say that the associate stated that she was not feeling well due to a pain problem. She was PLEASANT and very helpful, so this is in no way a reflection of her customer service. She worked with what was available, but it was clear that they should not have scheduled appointments at the same time of a major event. Unfortunately, now I really feel CHEATED and this company will not be receiving my business. I had such high hopes :(

My husband and I were very excited to try this place. Due to their hours, it was very difficult, but we finally found the time. We bought 6 cupcakes(each a different flavor), an almond croissant, a kolache, and a couple cake balls. The almond croissant was pretty good. We got it warmed up and enjoyed it, but unfortunately, it was the highlight of the experience. The kolache bread was bland and a little undercooked. The cupcakes do not taste like they are made from scratch, and the icing has a greasy quality to it almost as if it has shortening in it. The overall flavor of the cupcakes and buttercream is lacking. We weren’t happy with a single one. The cake balls were ok — the chocolate coating they’re using isn’t the best quality. Overall it was a let down, and I don’t see us returning in the future.

Ordered 6 dozen mini sugar cookies for a candy table at a wedding. I came to Sweet Art because they had been recommended to me. I was surprised when I went(twice) to talk to them about our order that there didn’t seem to be any interest on their part to collaborate or talk about possibilities of what they COULD do. Both times, I was just shown a book of pictures of things they have done in the past — none of which were really relevant to what we were trying to do. In the end, I was quite disappointed with what we received. The cookies were topped with a stamped fondant/icing that was dyed to match our color scheme. They were to pipe a monogram on top of that. I realize our last initial is «H» which is pretty plain, but I had asked that they«fancy it up» by making it it curly or writing it in cursive. Didn’t happen. Plain H’s for us. Nothing pretty or cute. I never even tasted the cookies, so I can’t comment on that. My rating is based purely on what we received vs. what we expected vs. the price we paid.

The employees are really nice, and I love supporting local businesses; however, I find their cupcakes very sugary and unexciting. I’ve gone a couple times hoping for a better result, but they really are just okay. I haven’t tried any of their other food, which I hear is pretty decent. If they would improve their cupcake recipe, they would see me there regularly just for those.

I was getting my hair colored at All AboutU and my boys were with me and wanted something to eat. While the foil was still in my hair, I walked down to get my boys some sandwiches. It must happen a a lot because they didn’t bat an eyelash. The turkey pesto sandwiches were great. We didn’t have have cake or cupcakes, but I will definitely be going back.

I have never been in or gotten a cake from here but I have had a few at parties and they are flavorful and delicious. I like their breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls and cake pops. Their cupcakes are good enough but not outstanding. I like a moist and slightly heavy cupcake and these are a tad dry and light and airy. The lunch sandwiches could use some work and options are limited. The décor and look of the place is light and appealing. the staff is usually courteous and friendly.

A girlfriend took me there for my birthday lunch and it was really disappointing. I was happy to try it because it is right near my home and would be convenient. The service was absolutely awful. The two ladies working were completely disinterested in our business. We tried to make light conversation and it was clear that was NOT to be a part of the experience. We both ordered the chicken salad croissant and side salad… save your money and go pick it up from Sam’s Club or Costco yourself. At least you will not have it served by people who do not want your business. We had one red velvet cake ball each that was decent but that is all that I can say good about this place. The cakes may be ok but I can’t say because I have never had one and probably will never order one due to my birthday experience there.

Best tasting cupcakes in the area! Having a bit of a sweet tooth, pick up cupcakes regularly. These have always been fresh and moist. The frosting is good without being overly sweet. They always seem to have good frosting to cake combinations. We loved Girl Scout week! How they were able to match the frosting to taste like the cookies is a mystery. They lose a star just because of store hours. PLEASE stay open later!

Two dozen cake pops. Make them green and blue and use different toppings(like drizzles and sprinkles). Easy right? I received 24WHITE cake pops with blue and green drizzles. Not horrible, but not what I asked for. She said, «next time we’ll do them the way you asked.». Yeah… no, there will NOT be a next time. You only get to be 8 once. Thanks for making it just a little less special.

I got my wedding cake and grooms cake for my wedding last year from this wonderful bakery and I have to say that these cakes were amazing. I am sorry to see the bad reviews, but its seems that the other reviewers do not know how sampling works. You need to set up an appointment, not just walk in and expect to be served right then. Our tasting and appointment were so nice. The cakes and icing were delicious and Sarah was wonderful! Our cakes came out perfect! The bride’s cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream and raspberry icing. YUMMM! The groom’s cake was the aggie emblem(our alma mater), a vanilla on vanilla. These were perfect. They were also really reasonably priced. We tried another bakery that had a TV famous baker whose cakes were dry, tasteless, with overly sugary icing, that were far more expensive. For the dissatisfied people, maybe you would try setting up a personalized appt next time and actually try the cakes before purchasing…

Went to look at wedding anniversary cakes. Pricing was good but the cake was dry and the staff were not very helpful. Asked for samples and were told we would have to buy the cupcakes. Then we noticed there were samples over on a table! These people were clearly not interested in our business. Rude and dishonest.

Daughter went again this morning, 2⁄5 — Tuesday — 9:45. They were open !!! But they do not prepare kolaches except on Friday and Saturdays. Okay — I think we have this figured out, too bad it took so long.

First time here, I had purchased a voucher for $ 15 off $ 30 of cupcakes.(1 dozen. Walked in just as they were closing on Halloween and thankfully they still had plenty of festive choices left, even though the woman at the counter told me that they had 6 Halloween inspired flavors at the beginning of the day and only 3 remained. We bought 4 of each, and they are fantastic. Really friendly staff, I didn’t realize that they also serve breakfast and lunch… we will definitely be back.
