We went and got the buffet during a slow late lunch. I think now we should try to come at a busier time, and I will probably order something off of the menu instead. Most of the dishes from the buffet were fairly cold and unappetizing because of this. The strange allowance of workers/owners kids running around with ipads in the middle of the restaurant didn’t add to the appeal. The naan was super good and being a bread person allowed me to enjoy at least part of this trip.

First the negative. The tables were not clean and one of the first things we noticed. Table cloths had food stains, our table felt sticky. We went at lunch(11:15 am) and were the only ones there for some time. One of the entrees on the buffet was not quite warm which seemed odd as it was just being put out. Our tea was not refilled either so those two things could be improved. That said, the positive: The food is good. The husband seems to do the cooking and was very hospitable. I enjoyed everything I tried. They put out the buffet in sparing quantity however probably as they’ve learned a «crowd» doesn’t arrive until later and therefore don’t want the food sitting out long. So we had two pieces of naan each but would have liked more. Sure enough, about 7 people rolled in about the time we were to leave. The little 2 ½ year old referenced in other reviews was there. She is quite engaging and learning from her family how to run the business :) She certainly knew how to work my cell phone… we took a selfie together. I can see how some would not enjoy that but in many other non-American cultures, many of these businesses are family run and quite common for family members to be there. Bottom line: It’s a good value especially if you need your Indian food fix in McKinney.

Excellent, fresh, authentic. Loved it. Chicken Korma, tikka masala, naan, saag paneer outstanding. Owner friendly and gracious.

The food is wonderful and the kids that are always«screaming» while we eat here are friggin adorable and I think it’s a positive addition to the atmosphere, especially when the little toddler pretends to take my order or refill my drink. Anyone that thinks otherwise is obviously a pretentious douchebag and I am sure the owners welcome you to eat elsewhere.

Worth updating since I got sick on my last time in for Super Tuesday. Not sure which food item caused the issues but definitely haven’t been back since. Just words of caution, even though the food has always been really tasty. It’s a shame because we have really liked every other visit here.

Dinner is much better than the lunch at this place. But again, it’s like a freaking daycare with the owners three kids running around screaming. While the owner is genuinely nice, he needs to start reading reviews and taking action.

I rate a 3 for the BYOB. I’m going to keep it short and simple. The food was alright. You can tell it was freshly cooked but, my taste buds prefers Indian food that has a lighter taste. The service was very generous.

This is a dimly lit casual Indian resteraunt with a small but tasty variety of food. It is one of my favored spots for lunch and have never been disappointed. The owner is super friendly and greets you at the door. The food is fresh, excelent and and very flavorful. I recomend this place often to my friends. Ps. I love the tomato soup

First time at his place. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala($ 12.95) and my hubby ordered the Tandoori Mixed Grill($ 13.95) It took quite awhile to get our food, so while I was waiting, I was reading Unilocal reviews. I think I probably should have read them before ordering. The owner’s daughter(probably 2 – 3 years old) was running around the restaurant. After she threw a fit, she was given a tablet with which to play. It was on really loud and she was sitting at one of the tables in the dining room. My food was pretty good, but a bit skimpy on the chicken. The naan was pretty blackened on one side. My husband’s food looked pretty dried out. The wife(?) who waited on us wasn’t very friendly. The owner brought out our food was pretty friendly. He even gave us a take out menu. I noticed several people come in for take out.(Maybe to avoid listening to the noisy kid?) It was okay, but I think we should be able to find better Indian food somewhere else?

This is one of my all time favorite places to dine. The food is amazing! Soft flavorful rice, and chicken very tender. I recommend the spinach saag paneer and the chicken tikka masala with their yummy Naan bread which is made fresh and has the perfect blend of soft and crispy. The environment and staff are also nice. Lowered lighting and soft music give it a relaxing cozy feel. The staff is very attentive and polite.

I went early for Sunday buffet. It was awful. I felt like I was disrupting a family argument. The man and woman were yelling at each other and their child was disrupting their guests. They yelled at the child. Then the man sits down at a table, puts his phone on speaker and yells at it for several minutes. Then the woman does the same thing. Dear God! The food? Heated up left overs. How can the Bombay dumplings be all sauce and no dumplings if you just opened and only three people have eaten? I asked for some more naan and the microwaved me some. I told the man how awful it was and he discounted my meal THREEWHOLEDOLLARS! Thanks!

Great service. Always accomodating to our wants. Family run business. I’m always pleased with their food. Their evening buffet is the best

This is my fifth trip here since discovering Taste of India so obviously the place is good. My standard«test dish» when comparing is Chicken Masala and it did not disappoint. Much like a plain Cheese Pizza in an Italian joint if you can prepare the simple things well then I am confident you do more complicated dishes in an outstanding manner. Let me say the gentleman proprietor is the nicest, friendliest most attentive server you could ask for which is a BIG plus. He will patiently explain dishes and is clearly interested in having you return for more! If I had one less than spot on thing to add to my review it would be the ambience. I love children, as a matter of fact I raised three of my own, however I DON’T want to have the owners pre-schooler SCREAMING as I’m eating and unfortunately this has occurred EVERY time I’ve been in. I understand the high cost of child care but please provide the little ones their own space and something to entertain themselves with. *Dinner Chicken Tika Masala is MUCH better than the lunch time buffet version.

Very small restaurant. Went for buffet on Sunday, pretty much everything was out, and they didn’t even bother to fill it up, there was no salads left, no fruits, naan were out and finally almost end of lunch, they brought 1 naan cut into 4 pieces, tandoori chicken was empty too, they brought put 1 leg and 3 random pieces, very small ones at it. Korma was out, Saag paneer had no paneer, goat curry had no meat in it, gulab Jamun were very floury and the syrup was had watery syrup. Over all highly disappointed, drove about 40 minutes for this!!! Won’t be going back again.

Mixed feelings/reviews Food is good, atmosphere not so much. I don’t care for the dark Indian restaurants with the heavy red curtains and the over sexual Bollywood videos of the men and women entangled in silk… and over annoyed that my young girls are drawn to it when eating. For the food review: We ate here for the 2nd time this month. The first time was around 1 and today around noon. The first time when we visited they had goat, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken. Only 2 pieces of grilled tandoori chicken, 1piece of nasn, very little white rice, no raita, small amount of salad and couple of pieces of watermelon. As we ate the buffet 2 other families came. The buffet was not replenished with fruit, veggies, raita, or chicken & goat curry. The goat curry had very little goat. A few pieces of tandoori and bread were replenished at a time, but with other families eating it still wasn’t enough for everyone. We would sit and wait for food to come out of the kitchen. Today at noon it was pretty much the same. The food is good that’s why we came back. We gave it another try thinking the buffet would be filled @ noon. It wasn’t though unfortunately. We walked in with 4 hungry kids who like tandoori and there wasn’t any. Not enough rice for everyone. No fried onions for me. The sodas came to our table 20 minutes into eating and my mango lassie came sometime later. The manager tries to be very friendly and accommodating. He let us know when more grilled tandoori came out. He takes your plates and clears tables promptly. But I don’t know what is going on the the kitchen and the problem with food rationing. When we come in for buffet we would like to sit down as a family and eat, not wait for food to be cooked and served on a buffet.

Got a takeout order here a couple of weeks ago. The goat was pretty good and so was the Tika Masala, but he portions were a bit small. Not bad…

Service not very friendly. I can’t judge the food. I never eat Indian food. I did not like anything on the buffet though. Went with my niece and she said it was the worst Indian food she has ever had. She and her husband have been to many different Indian restaurants. Somebody must like it. They have four stars.

I know Indian food, love Indian food and absolutely did NOT like the food here. Besides the table cloths being disgusting and very dirty, the food was bland, the chicken tikka masala sauce was too thin, the naan was cold, as were almost all of the dishes we usually love and were so excited to try. Very disappointing. Looking forward to finding a place in the area that really hits the spot. Until then, this place is very«meh». The only bright spot was the rice pudding. And the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars.

I have never been there for dinner but my husband and I always hit the lunch buffet when we have time. There are always two salad options, one soup option, at least four vegetarian options and then four to five meat options. Its a small buffet but worth the price. The both of us ate for a total of $ 18(food plus tax). The service is always very good when we go and they keep our glasses full. They are sure to have one or two dessert options at the end of the buffet as well. They tend to rotate out the food options each day(or week) so each time we go we seem to find something new.

$ 8 bucks for their buffet. The buffet was sad. They only had 5 – 6 dishes(an eggplant and potato dish, sang paneer, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, naan, a couple of other vegetarian items, 2 or 3 desserts, plus a very skinny salad bar). There was never a time when all the items were replenished. People would literally run up to get naan when a batch was brought out. And the naan was not run-worthy either(stretchy, chewy). They only bring out a little of each dish at a time… I’m talking 2 cups of rice for a nearly half full dinning room. The food itself was ehh ok. For the price point I guess you can’t expect too much. The restaurant is small. The ambience was too dark and quiet. They played Indian music videos for guests which I found myself getting into. The staff members were friendly enough; they had 2 kids and a baby playing back by the register. I was able to glimpse into the kitchen from my seat each time someone came in/out and I didn’t like the looks of that kitchen. I don’t know if it was rust I saw back there, or dirt. Either way, it didn’t make me feel too good. I probably won’t be back but I say give it a go if you are in the mood for cheap Indian eats with no expectation of awesome flavor punches.
