I don’t typically enjoy sweets, but I’m a fan of macarons. It’s basically like a cookie sandwich in a variety of flavors. And of course, I HAD to get a box after having dinner inside the mall. I picked out 7($ 16) — champagne, rose, raspberry, vanilla, honey lavender, salted caramel, and red velvet. My favorites were champagne(all day everyday), honey lavender, and salted caramel. I didn’t experience the super crumbly-ness that other reviewers had experienced… but I also ate them a day later because I passed out from the food coma as a result of my dinner. Whoops. The kiosk has a simplistic yet beautiful presentation and is situated right in front of the Victoria’s Secret store on the upstairs level. It seems like they rotate the flavors around especially since they’re not baked on-site(I’m assuming someone delivers them every morning to the kiosk). I’ll be sure to make an effort to stop by again whenever I’m in the mall.

I love Olivia Macarons! And yes, they are known to be much more delicate and a little more crumbly than your average macaron. If you want chewy and denser macarons, try Paul’s. I frequent the Georgetown shop and was excited to see that Tyson’s had its own little Olivia booth right in front of the Victoria’s Secret store upstairs. I believe prices are the same as Gtown($ 16 for 7) and I assume they’re all made in the same place. The reason for the 3 stars is that they didn’t have Olivia’s best flavors(I love their Lady Grey and Coconut) and the ones I opted to try, like the Vanilla and Salted Caramel were way too sweet. I would say their less sweet flavors are the Champagne, Espresso, and Raspberry. These were great. I’m hoping this little booth will rotate flavors every now and then because people are missing out on some awesome ones!

Pricey, but delicious little cookies! I read other reviews and was a bit confused to see people were upset because the cookies crumble. I thought macarons are supposed to crumble? I came on a weekend which may not have been the best idea as there was a line and a lot of confusion. But I have to tell you it was totally worth it. I didn’t care much for the red velvet but all the others are great. I like that they crumble a little when you bite into them. I wish I could give you just one of my favs but I really enjoyed the pistachio, salted carmel and almond. I was also surprised by the honey lavender, you can pick out the distinct flavors. All in all these are some of the best macarons I’ve had. I took of one star simply because the customer service was just, meh. They are by no means mean or rude but just do their job with not too much personality. I think when you work in the service industry you should be a little friendlier and make people excited to come back again. That being said those little macarons are all the reason I need to come back very soon!

Cute, little, colorful stand in Tyson’s Corner on the second floor outside of that huge Victoria’s Secret. I haven’t heard of Olivia Macaron before, but my 4 year old insisted that we get some cookies. I went for the box of 7 because I didn’t want to risk them getting smushed if I got a few. Also, a box of 7? What happened to a box of 5 or something? Oh well, more flavors to try. The box of 7 cost $ 16, and individual macarons cost $ 2.50 a piece, which seems very steep considering the quality and that it isn’t a full location, such that it isn’t a storefront with more options and it didn’t carry most of the flavors I wanted to try(I looked at their website after my purchase). The box is a simple sliding black rectangular box. The first thing I noticed when the person was putting the macarons in the box was that there was no liner. I’m used to Botega Louie in Los Angeles and Laduree in New York, and both those boxes are much better quality and has a liner to protect the box. What I do like about the box is that you can see a couple/few of the colorful macarons through it. I ordered the vanilla, wedding almond, orange, honey lavender, pistachio, raspberry, and violet cassis. Overall the taste of them were mostly alright, but the consistency annoyed me, especially for that price! For example, the honey lavender was very soft, full of filling, clear in flavor, but the wedding almond and raspberry were extremely dry, just like eating plain almonds. At least the raspberry one I could taste a bit of the raspberry despite all the dryness though it did seem it had some raspberry bits in them. The vanilla one was cracked and totally fell apart when I picked it up. Overall, it tastes just okay. I just expected more out of charging $ 2.50 per macaron that doesn’t even come in a giftbox that can be kept. I’ll up a star if the consistency was there; obviously these aren’t baked directly on-site. I’m unsure how long they keep their batches for, but instructions do say enjoy within 5 days, keep refrigerated. I’m very shocked that the consistency between these macarons are so different and so dry. Maybe I’ll give it another shot when I see the flavors I really want to try(that they have on their website, maybe in their Georgetown location) — mojito, lady grey, champagne, passion fruit, black sesame, green tea, nutella, and fruity pebbles.

Maybe I don’t know enough about macarons, but I thought the champagne one was amazing. I agree with the other Unilocalers that they crumbled easily, but the taste of the champagne was so phenomenal and creamy, I thought the crumbliness was okay? The price, I suppose, is high but this is coming from a mall that allows ice cream to be $ 5 for their smallest size(Hagaan Daz and Coldstone), so $ 2.50 for a bit of something sweet after dinner worked well for me. I knock a star ONLY because I also tried the rose and it was terrible! I have had a rose macaron only one time before and it was at this tiny Italian restraint in LA and it was incredible! It was just a HINT of rose and tasted fresh and light. This rose one tasted like I was eating soap. The rose flavoring tasted very fake and overwhelming. It made me so sad that I ate this one second because I LOVE the champagne. I would eat a dozen more champagne ones!

Why is this place here? Like honestly, WHY? I should’ve caught the flag that no one was buying anything from this store but I unfortunately couldn’t resist trying it out. I was told the store in DC had good ones, but if this is the quality of the macarons in the DC location, I need to open up a macaron shop to stomp on these jokers. So bad. Ok. Where to start? First off, you really need to look at the pictures to see what I’m talking about. These pieces of circular garbage are hollow. Like you can stare straight into the heart of darkness hollow. If you know macarons, they should be nice and full, firm, and have a slight chew to them. It felt like I was eating brittle shells of bone dust. As I picked up the macaron it CRACKED. The innermost section wasn’t even chewy. Macarons should be balanced in shell and filling. Disregarding the failure of a shell, the filling flavor was way too strong even if the shell was full, especially the blueberry one. The shell is flavorless. And you’re charging $ 2.50 each for these pieces of trash? After eating one I had to FORCE myself to eat the rest to not waste what I purchased. Dear Lord was that hell. If I had to give a true value, these should be sold for $ 0.50 each. I’m not even a macaron connoisseur. 0.5÷10, scum of the earth thievery of a macaron shop. Never coming again and will continue to warn about this place to all my friends. (The 0.5 is for the coffee macaroon with a slightly good flavor.)

Happy to see Olivia Macaron in Tyson’s. My personal favorites are the salted caramel and the blood orange.

Really excited that they opened one in Tysons Corner mall! I loved the beautiful presentation, but at $ 2.50 each(and they are slightly smaller than most macarons), I expect nothing but perfection. While the display made the macarons looks very appetizing, I was a little disappointed that they crumbled very easily. I tend to like them a tad bit denser too. I had the Sweet Lady Grey(delicious but crumbled very easily), Honey Lavender(this was ok), Wedding Almond(the best of this bunch), and the Violet Cassis(was not a fan of the consistency). They were good, but definitely not the best I’ve had.

I was excited to see than an Olivia Macaron had opened in Tyson’s! The display is neat and the stand is at a convenient location. I was, however, disheartened to see that it was $ 2.50 per macaron. I like the chewiness and texture of the shells, but they are not consistent. The flavors are fine, but they are definitely more subtle than Laduree’s. My favorites are the salted caramel and espresso! Overall, tasty and sweet and worth a try, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price.
