It was pointed out to me by another construction worker the shortcuts and errors had were made when this company replaced my roof. First of all, they used the wrong nails. They weren’t galvanized, so now all the nails are rusty. They started out on one end of the roof using the correct caulking material for the nails. Then it appears they ran out of the correct material so used some material that looks like mortar that dried hard on the nails and most has since cracked and fallen off the nail. Hence, many of the nails have come up 1⁄8 to ¼″. They should have used a flexible material that would move as the roofing expanded and contracted with the heat and cold.
