This five star is for above and beyond, amazing customer service! I called in a very special order since I live in Texas but wanted to send my 91 year-old grandmother a birthday cup cake, and the staff volunteered to take it to her when they got out of work since they don’t deliver. So Sweet! Thank you! I will definitely be stopping by next time I’m in town to visit.

I have only visited this bakery once and I will never go back and recommend that you pass, regardless of how delectable the baked goods are. Aside from the vomit inducing elitist attitude and idiotic displays, I have no complaints and have never tasted the bread. On my one visit I did notice the displays were filled with disgustingly dusty and most definetly stale, old bread. I made the mistake of assuming that something on display would have a fresh counterpart that was also for sale, the wretch at the counter informed me that the loaf I was looking at was old and gross and not for sale… I have worked in the service industry for over 15 years and I have never treated a customer with such disdain and contempt that I was met with at this hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere. I’m far from alone many people have similar feedback about this business. It’s to bad that they encourage this«customer service» I hear they bake half Decent croissants, but who cares when you can’t treat people well.

Croissants are on point! Absolutely delicious. Nice to see your booth at the downtown Farmers Market. Great place to pick up baked goods for the morning or a baguette to enjoy with some wine and cheese.

We came in today,(after many past visits to the bakery), because we were looking for croissants and possibly a loaf of sandwich bread for the week. It’s one of those things you go for earlier in the morning, just in case they run out. They really are good when they are fresh and so is this bakery! The sad part about our visit today, was the lady who pleasantly asked us what we would like… she became very off-putting after that. The food and service has always been good. I’ve never had anything bad happen here to us before until now, so it really caught me off guard! This is why I had to give only three on their star rating. Seeing their display case, I asked if they had regular croissants. There were two sitting by the chocolate walnut croissant sign and two more sitting by two glazed & decorated ones. I can’t do the added sugar and wanted to be sure, so I asked if she was sure those were regular. I thought it was a legit question to ask since they were sitting near the other croissants & signs. She boldly boasts at me saying«I’ve been here for 15 years. I know which are regular croissants!» I’m like«woah, I’m not questioning your longevity here, I was just making sure I wasn’t going to bite into chocolate». She tried to argue more but I just stopped talking to her. My husband ordered a few more items from the case for our family at home & we left… unfortunately without buying any sandwich bread. We just wanted to leave at that point. I actually just thought it was really rude to boast how long you have been working there to a customer when they question something. As a customer I don’t need a history lesson or resume from any store when ordering or choosing items to buy. It just sounds snarky! Perhaps she could have apologized over it or perhaps she was just having a bad day and took it out on me when I questioned her attention to detail or ability to display items properly. I did not say this directly to her at all. But honestly, If they would have been marked correctly in the case to begin with, I’m sure everything would have been fine. I just thought I’d make mention of this incident so the business is also aware of how they sound to people when responding like this. I believe it’s not necessary to belittle a customer to get your point across. Your product should sell itself. If you are kind, courteous and provide quality in product and customer service, people will always come back. If not, a bad experience is remembered & people will not want to come back! Sometimes word of mouth and reputation is your biggest asset too… or can bring on a demise. My suggestion is to take note of all feedback provided(good and bad). People who take the time to comment aren’t just doing it for attention — they sometimes just want to help. It may allow for improvement & continue a positive reputation rather than build up a negative one. Cheers and hopefully our next experience with croissants will be better. ;)

I do need to try more things here, but the baguette here is incredible! It’s soft on the inside and perfectly crispy at the crust. Eat it with butter and you’ll be in heaven. Gotta get there early in the morning though, otherwise they sell out!

Killer bakery. Breakfast sandwiches with house made prosciutto and fresh bread + illy coffee are not to be missed!

I love their BLT on multigrain bread and the Ruben. The everything scones on Thursdays are my favorite. Of course they are most famous for their macaroons.

I don’t often post Unilocal reviews, but when I do, I want to be at the Red Fox. The pastries are so delish and it’s amazing value. Walk around the corner from the Mcmenamen’s Hotel and be happy you read this review :)

Wow this place smells amazing! Got some sandwiches for lunch today. Love the atmosphere in this part of town; there’s a lot going on within a few blocks and it’s really walkable. I had the bbq and my wife had the turkey. Both were really good and the prices were not bad. The weird thing was that where I expected potato chips or fries, I got a baby tomato, two baby carrots, and a single leaf of lettuce. My wife got the same. Seemed pretty strange, although it also came with a macaroon that was delicious and almost as filling as the sandwich!

Walking into the place is dangerous. It smells amazing! They make donuts Saturday and they tend to sell out quick. Illy coffee. Had a macaroon right out of the oven. Killer.

I just had to write an update after venturing into the world of their sandwiches. I got the roast beef with swiss, arugula, and horseradish mayo on baguette. It was wonderful. My only critique would be that the bread was awfully hard on the bottom, almost difficult to bite into. That being said, I still ate every. last. morsel. And it came with a macaroon. I died.

You had me at roast beef and LuLu’s macaroon. Then sealed the deal with the BOGO offer in the Entertainment Book. One of those cozy little places where you feel like a local the minute you walk in the door. The menu is on a chalk board on one wall, and while there are many good options, I always order the roast beef with Swiss cheese, arugula, and horseradish mayo on a crunchy baguette. The bakery is a little tucked away, just around the corner from the higher profile restaurants on 3rd Street. I’ve always found it to be a warm and welcoming place and more often than not, end up having a great conversation with the staff or locals at the next table.

Great little place. I had a Reuben with house made corned beef. It was very tasty and the bread was great. My husband had the prosciutto and salami and fontina. Also very good. The macaroons that came with the sandwich were the best I have ever had.

Red Fox Bakery’s bread is as good as it gets. I love the Station sourdough, with tasty whole wheat and rye, just enough of those hearty, healthy grains and not too much. The owners told me the story behind this beautiful sourdough, how they tasted it in a train station in England once and made up their minds to keep trying to replicate it until they made the very bread that they had tasted. For anyone like me, who had been enjoying Acme’s wheat sourdough for years in the Bay area, this bread was a great find. And eventually, I came to like it evan more than Acme’s. That same passion for quality flows through all of their products that I have tried, from sandwiches to pastries. So don’t miss the Red Fox. Unless you’re afraid of being spoiled for any other bakery.

They have the best cookies, croissants, cakes, and bread. I have been there twice so far and both times they didn’t disappoint. I love looking in the ½ off day before basket to see what I can get to add to my mouth watering collection of goodies I am taking with me. If you are in McMinville, Oregon stop in here!

Very good lunch spot. The fresh bread, great sandwiches and tasty bakery treat make this little hidden gem worth the stop. They serve Illy coffee, which is one of the best coffees in the world. The staff is friendly, prompt and accommodating. Next to McMennimans, in the historic district.

I would have given this place 5 stars in their homemade macaroon alone. It was that good. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it. The rest of my quick lunch was top notch too. The Roast Beef sandwich was on a perfect rustic artisan bread and provided a perfect crunch around the roast beef, cheese, veggies, and horseradish mayo. I had a drip coffee to wash it down, and I appreciated it was still hot despite it being close to 2 pm. Overall a very welcome experience. We were lucky to find a table considering how small it was inside, but we couldn’t complain. Their homemade pastries looked great, though I can’t imagine anything lives up to their macaroon. That thing was heavenly.

My wife, daughter, and I stopped here for lunch on a trip to McMinnville. There are tons of places to choose from, but this one was right next door to one of our favorite bars(McMenamins) so we thought we’d give it a shot — and I’m glad we did! I ordered the roast beef au jus and it was excellent! Probably the best I’d had anywhere. My daughter ordered the kids grilled cheese. She didn’t care too much for it because she is a kid and doesn’t yet appreciate quality. I tried it thought and I thought it was awesome! My wife ordered a turkey sandwich that she also enjoyed. The place is small, but there was plenty of room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

AMAZING selection of bread and pastries with a great collection of hot and iced drinks. Their baked good are absolutely delicious(I loved my chocolate croissant) and when I was here last Easter they even had Hot Cross Buns… which I am thinking is not something they usually carry, but could be a regular item. I always dream of stopping at the Red Fox Bakery every time I visit McMinnville!

Sweet!!! A bakery close to home that has unusual finds… A quaint, cozy, little place, when you walk in, you immediately see the bakers racks and kitchen from behind the counter… the fresh baked breads, sweet treats, and coffee… yum yum! Reminds me of rustic out in the country kind of bakery, not one you would see in the Pearl district of Portland… Their goods sell out quick, so not much left to choose from in the afternoon. The brownies are always a hit, also tried an Italian cookie called Sbrisolona, nutty flavor, very good. The staff is always friendly… will keep this place on my fav list to find that specialty bread close to home!
