This is the 7th time ive come here in the last month, for a MONTH now the womens restroom on the roofbar has been out of order so my elderly mother has had to walk down to the 1st floor every time because she is afraid of elevators. With how many Mcmanamens restraunts they have, you would think they could replace a toilet… a waitress told me that their fixit guy has patched the problem a bunch of times but they dont care to fix the problem.

As usual terrible service, have been at rooftop bar for 20 minutes and still no beverages, fire the staff and managers!

Have always love McMenamins all over Oregon. Went to the one in McMinnville today for lunch. 30 minutes after we ordered the waitress came by to say our food would just be another minute. 15 minutes after that it finally arrived. A couple who sat next to us ordered 25 minutes after we did and received their food within moments of ours. The Chicken sandwich was disappointing. We requested plain beef patties for one of us with a food allergy. They charged us $ 5.25 per patty and never ran the price by us after we requested. We sat inside and the smoke from the customers sitting outside kept coming in through the sliding windows that could not be completely shut. Worst meal I’ve ever had at a McMenamins and one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Rooftop magic. Beautiful evening. Fresh air on the rooftop. Good bigger and personal pizza. Alyssa our server worked really hard and I found a new whisky I really enjoyed. Bully Whiskey with a couple of ice cubes. Thanks to my wife for the dinner date. I recommend this for anyone wanting a nice bar at the top of downtown McMinnville.

Unfortunately, ordering breakfast or meals is frustrating and the wait can be painful. Last time I vowed to eat there as a disorganized waiter /bar mix ups. This place has so much potential because it’s in the heart of McMinnville. The McMenamins name has value by age but if their food and service continues to tank that will only take them so far into the future. There are much better options for food quality and service in the area.

So so good. BBQ sandwich was very salty and not very good. Our food came out slow and was not very hot.

I can’t comment on the rooms here because I’ve never stayed here but might do it one day. I enjoy the Rooftop Bar, the ratskeller is nice too. The main dining room on the main floor is like a usual McMenamins sometimes the food is good sometimes it’s really not good. As far as a hamburger you won’t go wrong anything more complicated than that I would not do. Considering the investment they put into this place you would think as a dining room operation and kitchen would be far superior to the what it is and it’s not.

I stopped in Friday night with my family for a bite to eat and drink. McMenamins is my go to spot in town, but this visit was disappointing. Our server was attentive to us but the fries that were served to us were unacceptable, especially at $ 6 an order! It was very obviously the bottom of the bag with our whole order consisting of 1 inch niblets, but to top it off they were completely cold. as if they’d been sitting in the window for the past hour, not even luke warm. After seeing the quality that was coming out of the kitchen that night, we chose to not order dinner. I understand being busy with Alien Daze and maybe having slower service, but food quality should not go down.

How many times do I have to get burned eating at your place. Went to the rooftop on a nice day and we ordered beers. Got them about 20 minutes later and the beer was warm. Went back down to the bartender to tell her that my beer was warm and she said they are all like that. So we just canceled our order. So we went down to Golden Valley brew pub where the service is always great! So I you want good beer and good food with quick service go to GVBP. If you want to wait a long time and drink warm beer like a German go to McMenamin’s.

The rooftop bar is where it’s at on a gorgeous, sunny, Oregon afternoon! The whole establishment was busy for a Sunday afternoon, but we made our way up to the roof to enjoy our early dinner /late lunch. We were greeted quickly and got drinks going soon after. Our food did take awhile to arrive, but again, understandable because they were slammed with business. My partner and I both had something different than our usual orders(a pesto grilled cheese for him, and a veggie burger for me) and they were both outstanding. In addition to the great food, we even had one of the servers bring us an umbrella to keep the sun off of us, even though it seemed as though there were far too few to go around. Simply put, I’m only removing one star from this otherwise perfect review because although McMennamins offers nostalgia and quirkiness, this venue especially, I think the prices are higher than what the food is worth. With that said, however, the view is worth the slightly overpriced meal.

Service was average for a typical Mcmenamins. If you’ve been to the majority of Mcmenamins, you know what I’m talking about… Our server was very polite, friendly, appeared overwhelmed, and seemingly empathetic to our wait, and to our overly priced, paper thin, Margherita pizza. The pizza: After about 30 minutes of waiting(slightly high for pizza that’s worth eating) our pizza was delivered by a man that I’d never seen before — I’m pretty sure he worked there… The pizza pan appeared to be about a 16″-er from my experience in the pizza business. There was about a 1−¼″ border of pizza pan exposed from the lack of pizza covering the pan. The actual pizza appeared to be about a 14″ pizza. It was paper thin, soft, and soggy near the middle. There were hundreds of dark brown specks under the pizza as though the pizza oven had not been cleaned out recently. The basil was decent, and there were only 12 slices of tomato on it. Cheese coverage was moderate to sparse. There was plenty of open space in crust country. The pizza cost $ 26.30, and I had to order marinara sauce to dip the crust(the cigarette butt of the pizza) into because I would have starved, to death, had I not ate it. :-/ My first date felt so bad about the lack of value that we had just consumed that she could not live with herself without insisting to pay for half of the pizza herself. Not my normal modus operandi for a first date mind you. I hate to feel like a cheapskate who cannot provide for a family, but this pizza was made for someone with a mortgage — not me. I would avoid ordering any pizza from Mcmenamins again, unless you really want to show off your wealth on a first date. :)

Two stars for the view. I have been waiting since MCMENAMINS came to McMinnville for them to get their shit together. It’s never happened. Food is slow. I mean, by the time you read this I will be lucky if I’ve eaten. But pretty much once a year I climb the stairs to the rooftop to enjoy a nice day and a pretty view. Don’t wait for the elevator… it’ll take as long as the food. I feel badly for the servers, they get to deal with unhappy customers on a regular basis from what I can tell. Oh, nevermind. The server just came. An hour after we ordered and apologized for never submitting the order. Sooooo we are off to another restaurant for our daughters birthday. See the view, skip the order.

This review pertains specifically to lunchtime in the ground floor café. I took a very impaired friend there for a special treat, as we have enjoyed McMinnville jaunts for decades. Because my friend can barely use her hands, we just had a bowl of soup with toast garnished with herbs. After we were served the waitress disappeared and never returned. I had to hunt all through the ground floor just to find someone to pay our bill to. I’d have to dredge a lifetime of memories to find another case where I was so disrespected in a restaurant. It was the first time in 72 years that I left a venue without leaving a tip. This chain had at one time, at least, a prestigious reputation. If lunchtime patronage is not profitable, close the restaurant during those hours, don’t permit it to limp along and corrupt the reputation of the overall operation.

rubbery prime rib, expensive. Not what I would have thought as a pinnacle of McMinnville tourism.

You know that feeling of bliss that can often be hard to describe? When the planets seem to be in alignment and you just happen to be in the right place at the right time? I know a bit of flare in this review, but truly I am at a loss for words to properly describe how Amazing the food and service here today at McMenamins in the ground level pub in McMinville, OR. This is our first time at this franchises location. We were greeted with a hello and a smile, our server was Michelle, she was prompt, polite, and smiling, Michelle was very knowledgable of all the products we asked about, from the McMenamins passport, to the Menu items. My spouse ordered the Gorgonzola Mac, and I ordered the maple pulled porky sandwich, both were for a lack of words AMAZING! We will be back as it is worth the drive over from the Coast.

There are four different bars at the Hotel Oregon. This is the big one on the first floor. It has great street views of the main street in the historical downtown. There is a lot of McMenamins type of art on the walls, as well as TV’s showing sports(without sound). It features a standard McMenamins menu. They did have candied hazelnuts on the happy hour menu. The service was ok people kept coming by and asking if we had been helped. The food took awhile to come and my fries arrived barely warm. The restaurant is nice and it is clean but I would recommend the Rooftop bar. The service and views are better there. In all I give the main floor pub a weak three stars.

I spend quite a bit of time at either the rooftop bar or the downstairs living room. Both places are shining stars in the McMinnville social scene. The living room downstairs has seating for at least 50 people and the layout is arranged so that even large parties can be seated together without feeling crowded, or causing anyone else to feel crowded. I also like the trampled, roughed up antique Persian rugs that cover the whole downstairs hangout space. They make the place feel even more lived-in. I sat and had dinner at the front restaurant bar a couple of nights ago. Service was nice, but it feels a little colder, a little bit more rigid in the restaurant than it does in other areas. For first time arrivers, I would go straight to the rooftop bar. It’s intimate and the views are great for sure. Best views in town.

Your standard McMenamins fare and beer. Hard to go wrong but neither better nor worse than any other McMenamins. What makes this place cool is the rooftop seating. The view is just breathtaking and you can pretty much see in any direction. It is a pretty far drive from just about anywhere but if you are in the area or up for a road trip(about an hour or so from Portland) it is worth checking out once.

Mother’s Day and we ended up at the Roof Top Bar. Last minute since our first choice did not work out due to timing. I had mentioned in my other review we do not come for the food but for the Roof Top and enjoy outside eating on a nice warm day… and that is what I was telling the family members that have not been here before. They offered a Mother’s Day Buffet on the main floor but since we opted for the roof I can not review that portion. I noticed that the menu had changed for the bar… and for the worse. Very typical bar food items and a few salad. All six of us just could not decide and came to a conclusion that pizza would probably be best for the group. We ordered two larges. I personally do not like BBQ sauce on pizza, but since I was not the only mom, one of the pizzas was the BBQ Chicken. I have to say I enjoyed it. The sauce was lite and not over powering. On the other pizza(Hawaiian) we wanted white sauce but they use Ranch, NOT ! We went with pesto. It was quite greasy with the pesto. They spilled a little to much. When the oil soaks through the pizza box that it is served in… it’s too much. The flavor was good though since they do not use typical Canadian bacon. It was a good tasting smoky ham. Our sever was handing us dishes but had to make another trip due to dirty plates. She didn’t notice the silverware when she dropped of 6 sets. Few of those we put over to the side. Dirty ! I was very disappointed in the Roof Top today. The lacking menu and dirty dishes are not acceptable. What makes it worse is with so many negative reviews nothing is being done about the food here.
