Halfway through my 10 hour drive I decided to find a place to grab a bite to eat. Using Unilocal as my guide I found a place only to pull up and the place is closed. Asking a local of this wonderful business district of Mebane I was. He recommended Martinho’s. Great family deli atmosphere… clean spot and a nice menu. Fresh made breads and sauces. great presentation! When I’m in Mebane… I eat Martinho’s!

My family and I drive here from Hillsborough at least twice a month. The menu is huge and there are options for every member of the family. Our kids love the Chicken Parm Subs and husband loves the calzone. The meatballs and meatball subs are delicious. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. They even have a HUGE dessert/deli area in the back. We’ve never haf anything we didn’t love! The only reason I wouldn’t give them 5 stars is because the soda is sold by the can, not fountain with free refills. Also, the philly steak subs are a little skimpy with the meat. You can order more meat at an additional price, but I feel the reg sandwiches could use double the meat. The place is always not large and is always busy and the food comes quickly! It’s a family business and we personally try to support mom and pop businesses as much as possible.

Great place to grab a tasty lunch at a good price. Nice choices for sandwiches, pizza and calzones. We often get take out pizza for a quick dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

My gf and I finally made our way to Maritnho’s yesterday for lunch and were very glad we did. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and she got the large grilled chicken salad. We also ordered a large tater tot appetizers. Everything came out perfectly. My burger was amazing. They cut fresh bread rolls for the buns instead of the crap you get at most restaurants. The bun to meat ratio was a little off, but you could still taste everything. The salad was huge and the chicken was wonderful. tots were perfect as well. We loved our experience, as you can tell its(im assuming) a family business. They were quite busy! My only complaint is they aren’t open on weekend, but good for them for taking the weekend off! I’ll be back to try some deli sandwiches and one of the many different bakery items.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch in and around Mebane. Plus, it’s located in the nice little downtown area with other unique shops and restaurants nearby. Vast selection of sandwiches and deli items, pizza, calzones, strombolis, other italian inspired fare, appetizers, and desserts. Give them a try next time you’re around. Great lunch specials and combos too.

I really love Martinho’s. They’ve held it down in Mebane for something like 25 years now, and it’s easy to understand why. Everything is extremely good and the portions are very generous. The owners and their family are friendly and so are all of their servers. If you live in Mebane and somehow haven’t eaten here, just go ahead and do it.

Wow… first time coming to Martinho’s and was not disappointed! Went on a Friday night around 7 and they were slammed but tables were turning quickly. The best part about the wait was watching all the delicious looking food being delivered to the other tables. From the looks of all the dishes, you will not be disappointed with portion sizes. I ordered a small Stromboli which was absolutely huge! Cooked to perfection and the marinara sauce was excellent too. I will definitely be going back to try some other dishes. Oh, and don’t forget desserts, the cheesecake looked great but I opted for a cannoli that was simply awesome!

I love to eat here! I work up the street and all most everyday I call in my order for lunch. The staff is very polite and they always get my order right! The food is good as well. The bread is freshly made… makes perfect subs hot or cold! Slices of pizza are a huge win for your money. They care about their customers and always greet me with a smile. Wonderful small town restaurant.

This is a great family operated sandwich /pizza joint. Everything is fresh and tasty. «Personal size» calzone is easily big enough for 2 people to share(unless they are teenagers). The vegetarian Rueben is delicious. Bring the family.

Looked like a good place for a hot sub, which takes awhile. The six inch is enough for two by the way. But it turned out to be a meatball rather than the chicken parmigiana. But won’t send it back(see below)… Clearly regulars eat here. Casual place, and friendly staff. Only problem is you want to get here before noon – they get slammed then!

The only thing I hate about Martinho’s is that they are closed on weekends. The food is amazing and they have some of the best sauce I’ve ever tasted! The pizza is really good but their chicken parm is probably my favorite. Service is really good and quick and I’ve never had a bad experience.

I used to eat at Martinho’s a lot years back when I was in downtown Mebane during the week. Don’t get there much anymore do when I was coming through decided to get some takeout. In place of a formal review I’m just going to relate my experience. At the counter I give my order to a younger girl who barely speaks and appears either bored or sleepy. I finish the order and because I know from past experience that it won’t be quick I ask to add a beer to my order to drink while I wait. She informs me she can’t get it because she isn’t old enough. I say«no problem I understand — here’s my card for my order and I’ll wait». Thinking she will have a coworker reach back 3 ft behind her into the cooler and grab me a Stella Artois. I pay, walk over to nearby bar and wait patiently. 5 minutes later no beer so I go ask her about it. She looks at me confused and says«I can’t get it. My response — aren’t there 7 other people here who can reach over and open the cooler door and hand me a beer? Her response. Ohhhh… OMG. They didn’t sell a drink because she wasn’t bright enough to get someone else to open a door? So. Food isn’t bad. Don’t rely on any actual service though.

I’ve only gotten food to go, and I’ve never tried the pizza. With those personal limitations acknowledged, I think Martinho’s is great. The«personal size» calzone is massive and tasty. The blackberry cheesecake is unreal.(I think the couple of other cheesecake flavors I’ve had are too sweet though.) The prices are reasonable, and the servers have always been friendly to me. Or maybe they’re just amused because I’m usually between bars when I go there. =)

I like Martinho’s. I like that it’s small. I like the family that runs the business. It’s a bummer that they are closed on the weekend. I have never had anything but the sandwiches, but their calzones look good. Martinho’s: nothing fancy, just good, reasonably priced food.

Terrible, rude service and sub-par food. I like to support the little guys, but this place needs to clean up its act if it wants to get any more of my business. Martinho’s can turn things around by emphasizing customer service(and perhaps not employing absolute snots who would rather sit around and twirl their hair versus serve food and interact with customers) and step up their food game. Don’t expect great food or service here. You’re better off heading a block up the street to Pomodora’s or driving out to the Ciao Pizza or Roma’s off Mebane Oaks or even the Naples restaurant(great pizza) in Haw River.

This is a great small place to enjoy a sub, pizza, or so much more. Service is always quick and the staff is extremely friendly. Prices are reasonable making it a great place to eat when you are on a budget.

I ate there late one afternoon with my teen-aged daughter. The pizza sauce was so sweet that we didn’t finish it; we didn’t even take home the leftovers. Someone told me later that it was Portuguese instead of Italian. Either way it wasn’t for me, but that is a matter of taste. Others may like/love it. The thing that REALLY bugged me was the TV that was blaring some angry, obnoxious news program. It was right next to our table and NOONE else was eating in the restaurant at that early hour so I reached up and turned it off. A couple of minutes later some adult woman comes out and turns it back on and then walks off. Who was watching it? Not the only paying customer. I might have said something except I was trying to choke down sweet pizza. Otherwise, it looks like a regular pizza joint. Nice enough, clean and on a nice, historical, downtown street.

I was looking for an antipasta salad, while they had one listed on the menu, I would not list it as an antipasta salad. I received a salad with ham and cheese rolled together. I should have questioned my order when they asked what kind of dressing I wanted. The salad was fresh, just not an antipasta salad. The buffalo wings were good size, but not a buffalo sauce. I would not go out of your way, but the food is good priced and fresh.
