Reed’s was quite literally the only store opened on Sunday in downtown Mebane while I was driving through. It’s a cute and quaint little coffee shop. It has a modern and mainstream eclectic vibe going on. It looks like a good place for the locals to chatter and relax. There’s a very cool and colorful drink board in front of the register for those who are indecisive about their beverage choices. There’s also sandwiches and desserts available. Looks fresh. My only caveat is that Reed’s way more expensive than I would’ve liked, and I usually don’t mind spending the extra dollar on local businesses. My iced coffee and cranberry bliss bar was approximately $ 9, including tip. Yikes. Nevertheless, it’s a solid local coffee house find for a Sunday afternoon.

This is a nice little coffee shop in the middle of downtown Mebane. It’s got a nice variety of different types of drinks to include smoothies. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because they seem to only have one person behind the counter, at least when I have been there. Because of this, service tends to be a little slow if they get even a little busy.

Very thankful to have a coffee shop in downtown Mebane again. I only wish they could control the way sound carries inside. If there are conversations going on at tables, it is very difficult to concentrate and read/study. Noise levels seem to amplify and carry around the entire space. Nothing to absorb the sound in the whole place… Otherwise, excellent espresso drinks, fair pastries, good coffee and tea. A nice rewards program that offers a free drink after ten purchased ones. Nice tables and chairs in a great location. If not for the noise, I would give it five stars… 09÷29÷15: Updated review since their move across the street… Much more quaint and cozy space directly next to the art gallery and sharing a door. Interior sound is vastly improved. Walking in is always a treat with new, local art adorning all the walls. Small tables lined along right and left as you walk to the main counter in the center left with a table of baked goods across to the right(sometimes full, sometimes empty… no real rhyme or reason). A small, refrigerated case toward the rear usually contains some cold wraps and sandwiches if you’re looking for a more filling snack or in-between meal. The coffee of the day is always displayed at the counter(which I appreciate) and the staff has always been exceptionally pleasant. I love the chalk-art renditions of the various coffee combinations and their baristas never fail to deliver a good cup of any choice from the board. The prices for a coffee drink and a baked good are a little on the high side but it is consistently good quality and flavor. My only detraction would be that the baked goods are inconsistent in their availability. Most days, when I’m done with lunch and decide to head downtown for coffee, it’s usually because I also crave a sweet to pair with it and it can be quite frustrating to walk in to a bare table and only some worn-looking muffins in plastic wrap at the main counter.

Stopped into Reed’s on a day-trip to the outlets, and I’m so glad I did! Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, and great drinks. Would definitely be a regular if I lived locally.

Great drip coffee and espresso drinks, and a perfect atmosphere for hanging out or working remotely. The staff are super friendly and always ready to make you precisely what you want. The food is good, for pre-made sandwiches, and the wifi is fast. So glad to have an awesome café like this in downtown Mebane.

Great atmosphere to sit and relax, study, read a book, or people watch out the nice table by the window. I had a chai and it was very pretty but a little mild in flavor. Still tasty. My partner had coffee and he loved his.

So surprised they have coffee CORTADO! If you’re a hybrid Cuban living in Mebane this means a whole lot! Coffee was great, good flavor, strong but not bitter no sugar needed(and I usually have a tbsp. with a cup). The art studio was quaint, light and airy with very friendly staff. May come back and buy a piece or two ;-)

Whether you are coming in for a GREAT cup of organic coffee at the new location or a meal at The Downtown Table, you cannot go wrong! The owners are simply delightful every time you walk in the door! The staff is awesome!!! At the coffee shop, if you get a White Mocha Latte, be sure to ask for the powder! Also, at the Restaurant, the Huevos rancheros, shrimp and grits, burger, and fish tacos are some of the best I have ever eaten! Both places are a must for Mebanites and anyone visiting Historic Downtown Mebane!

The coffee is pretty good… depends who makes the drink. The sandwiches are pre made, so if you’re on the go, it’s great! The baked goods are awesome BUT expensive. Not quite worth the price. The atmosphere is perfect for a coffee shop with lots of tables to sit and talk or read.

Clearly in transition. All sandwiches are pre-made. Go to Martinho’s bakery and deli until it is clear what is going on…

«Delicious, healthy, beautiful presentation, and great service!» Reed catered our rehearsal dinner and a brunch on the weekend of our wedding in November of 2013 at the Chapel Hilltop Lodge. My wife and I really wanted our guests to enjoy delicious and healthy meals on our wedding weekend. Several of our guests had unique dietary restrictions including gluten-free, paleo, and vegan diets. Reed worked with us to create a menu that would meet the needs of our diet-restricted friends, but that all our guests would enjoy. When Reed arrived for our rehearsal dinner, she got right to work and seemed to always know just what to do. We decided on a buffet style dinner, which was arranged in gorgeous handcrafted serving dishes. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our guests were truly impressed, as were we, as to both how tasty and healthy the food was. Reed was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to make our rehearsal dinner and brunch a joyful experience.

I have been to this establish twice. Reed’s is a beautiful, eccentric little café & coffee shop, it has rustic cement painted floors, artwork & quotes on the walls, and comfy business type cushion chairs. The staff is very friendly & helpful. During my first visit the cashier gave me a brief overview of their services, drinks, and food. I have had 2 different lattes from the fall selection. I really enjoyed both! I have tried the salted caramel pumpkin latte & the nutella latte. YUM! There are many baked goods for sale too. And even lunch items like soups, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. I noticed many of the items on the lunch menu were sold out. I would love for this business to continue to flourish in little downtown Mebane. Maybe then, the lunch menu will increase, since I would have loved to sit down to enjoy a bite to eat.

Cute little shop in downtown Mebane. Very nice owner! Lots of space to sit and even a little kids area for them to play. The muffins are really good and there’s a nice selection of bagels and other cold drinks. Would have liked to see a larger selection of regular coffee, there was just one kind. There was a nice selection of specialty coffee drinks and hot tea though! So, go out and support your local business!

First impression, positive. Early Sunday. Quiet. Clean. Good espresso and wonderful large space with a nice ambiance. Furniture looks like it was raided from a boardroom/executive lounge of the 80’s and happens to «work» well in this space. Baked goods, quotes on the wall, artwork for sale which«lifts» the space. Positive addition for little downtown Mebane.

Very nice to find a charming coffee shop in downtown Mebane. The ambiance is good with more than ample seating. I had a good cappuccino(I’m picky too). This joint has serious promise. Looking forward to exploring the full menu once available.
