My wife and I came into Evergreen this past Saturday for a late dinner. Upon entering, we noticed that all the lights were extremely dim and no music was being played. We were promptly seated but I would have otherwise thought they were closed. The server was your typical soft spoken asian waitress of very few words, so no qualms with the server. The twilight zone-esque ambiance combined with the random bits of food they had left sitting was reminiscent of a post apocalyptic movie scene… The lights were dimmed as if the entire building was running off of a backup generator, the AC was off and it was hotter inside the building than it was outside. I would proclaim that the coldest part of the establishment was their food… but the check was served even colder. ~$ 12 per person for the worst dining experience ever… Due to the depression that the dining experienced caused my wife and I, we have now filed for divorce. Directly after the meal, my wife also suffered a miscarriage(self induced). Our depressing meal not only cost us good money, but also our gusto for life… I don’t want to live anymore. It’s been a good game everyone… good game.

This is the sad handjob of restaurants. Have you ever visited a place that’s been there forever and have no idea how they’ve stayed in business for so long? That’s this place. There were a grand total of 10 customers in the restaurant during prime Saturday dinner hours. The food on the buffet looked and tasted as if it had all been sitting there for a while. Everything was dry and gross. The ambience reminds me of the kind of restaurant you see in the movies where a pair of trashy vagrants have their last meal before going on a murdering spree. I came out of there feeling like I needed a shower and an enema. My wife had the clams. God save her soul.

Not much to lose for trying out their lunch buffet with a $ 5.99 coupon(reg $ 6.50). The building was old and rather dumpy and the interior was akin to a stodgy old timer diner. Choice of dishes was average for a medium sized buffet. The quality of most dishes was, however, below average. Aside from the few which happened to be newly replenished, everything felt underwhelming: fried food wasn’t crispy, shrimp was soggy(i.e. not so fresh), etc. I could always say something not so nice on each bite. They did have a few unique offerings that I have not seen in other buffet restaurants: Pad Thai, Chicken Tom Yum soup, and crispy noodles coated with honey and sesame seeds. I also notice mushrooms were everywhere — raw garden salad, cooked cold appetizer, stuffed, stir fried, and even in 2 out of 4 kinds of soup. That worked out for me as I love mushrooms. Service was excellent for a buffet. The waitress cleared our plates often and asked how’s everything a couple of times. I’d say this is not a place you’d take your friends and family to; more like a quick value lunch for yourself. I’d give a low 2.5 star for the noticeably sub-par food quality but bumped it up to 3 for value — in other words, this is hands down better than a McDonald meal.

If you don’t take pride within yourself and you’ll eat anything this is your place. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I’ll enjoy giving them bad Apples. I ordered takeout, General Tso’s with Tofu and talk about a horrible sauce it was nasty!!! As if they used toilet water, sauce had no flavor but this grungy after taste. Zero sweetness and very watery. I personally think they just can’t cook. Just because your ethnic doesn’t mean your a good cook– it was that awful. Vegetables were fresh and crunchy and very hot. My problem was this toilet water tasting sauce. I won’t apologize for this review… wasting my time, money and still hungry. It seemed clean, building is old, interior dated and restrooms although clean seen better days. I now have to laugh… Waitress appeared stressed, worried or like dang we actually have a guest. I notice her but didn’t pay it any mind until now. Hey, I have notice a serious decline in ethnic restaurants in this past year, all their menu’s the same, flavors are similar as if it comes from a bottle. Some Chinese food are better but it seems most gotten worse. While writing this I still have nasty Restroom taste in my mouth. Let me repeat, vegetables were perfectly cooked-sauce needs help, badly. If you go there do the buffet and stay away from the General Tso’s. They can do better if they choose too.

It has been awhile since I visited that made me remarkably sick to my stomach… When you first entered, you will see they decorated the entrance area with many vintage pictures of the owner with famous people. The place was about the size of an average Chinese buffet restaurant, and despite during regular lunch hour, we were the one of the two tables there. The floor was We sat down and off to our buffet exploration. I had a difficult finding edible food as many of the food item was dry up on the steam table, and some of the beefs had similar texture to jerkies. Most of chickens had similar problem, especially fried ones. They also have pure American dishes like mac & cheese, which was odd for a Chinese place to serve that. The ones I found edible were a bit bland. There was not anybody at the Mongolian grill station, just seem like it was not open for service. Sushi was not appetizing at all and seemed like they have been sitting there for a few days. Their ice cream machine seemed inoperable as well. Maybe they were good at one point in history… For now, I would not even consider going back to Ever Green II if they pay people to visit them due to many potential health hazards. The staffs just seem like they could care less about what you think, the two waitresses never came refill our drinks, and when we tried to get their attention, they gave us an obvious annoyed look. We ended up paying at the paid at the front where the owner lady had been camping out there the whole time.

I went here to see if the owners had made any attempt to compete with a new Chinese buffet, Lin, was opening about 2 miles down the road in the Hampden Center next to the movie theater. My 1÷20÷15 review stands. Nothing rose to the level of barely mediocre. Just tried the new place. It’s like comparing a top of the line Mercedes to a 30 year old Ford Pinto. Why anyone would still go here is bizarre.

Had a few decent dishes but overall a let down. Had a pretty depressing atmosphere and food tasted like it was left out for a while. Meh

Pretty much my definition of «meh.» It’s pretty basic, some good dishes, some not so good. Like most Chinese buffets in this area, they seem to have an aversion to serving hot food hot. Their attempts at American dishes(mac & cheese, etc.) … just say no. Raised them a star for a selection of not-terrible sushi and a Mongolian BBQ with chef.

awful. The restaurant feels like a sauna. The food was the worst Chinese I’ve ever hD(borderline the worst period). The dated décor is so rundown. I’m actually surprised this place has not been shutdown by health inspectors.

This place was disgusting! The floor was horribly dirty and the food had obviously been sitting all day. or was just not refilled. And the«sushi,» haha! Do yourself a favor and don’t bother. This place was absolutely awful.

So I passed this place for a while now and always saw it packed around meal times. I read reviews and decided to make my own based on my own experiences. The food was fresh and well stocked. Drinks were kept full and atmosphere was sim which made for a nice mood setting and relaxed. Loved loved loved the seafood options!!! Totally satisfied with my choice to go here. The only thing that was off was the bill. I called before going to check price on buffet and was told it was 6.49 a person but instead was 7.49 maybe because it was labor day when I went.

What a let down… INEDIBLE!!! I love Chinese food. I like trying new places and new dishes. So I was excited to give this place a try. When we got there I thought the place was closed down by the looks of the out side. When we went in I thought the place should be closed down from the look of the inside. The lighting was awful and the place was very run down. I thought what the heck if the food is good who cares about lighting. Well… I went up to the bar and saw the food, something just wasn’t right. Every thing looked over cooked and I could tell the food had sat out for quit some time. I got a few of my favorites, General tso, pepper chicken, lo main, spring roll, etc., Flavorless, cold, dried out, just foul! I can eat lo main right out of the refrigerator two days later but this stuff I couldn’t bring my self to swallow. I look up and could tell my husband was having the same issues so we decided to leave with out eating anymore. What a waste we payed $ 16 something for the meal then went down to 5 guys and had to buy another meal. Never had problems like this before and will NEVER go back to this place.

Used to be much better. Sushi still decent, but the on buffet itself it’s hard to find anything worth eating.

Horrid. …we have went there on many occasions hoping for a good experience, never happened, we gave up. Cold, old, sparse food. I would never touch sushi here… scary! ! Many health code infractions we found out later. No staff interactions. Very old very dirty inside and out. Save your money. .go somewhere else! !

It is not great but it is cheap for lunch. They have the usual chinaman buffet fare. The cold spicy mussels are the best thing there. They also have Mongolian bbq.

I don’t know where all the bad reviews are coming from… I’ve never had a bad experience there. For what it is– an all you can eat Chinese buffet– it’s pretty darn good. Maybe the bad reviews come from pretentious foodies who were expecting to find Masaharu Morimoto in the kitchen. Lighten up, folks… I’s an all-you-can-eat buffet, not Spago.

I’ve gotten take out from Evergreen about half a dozen times and the food was always pretty good. That wasn’t the case the last time I went. I ordered a quart of chicken fried rice and it was disgusting. The chicken and onions were all but raw, and the rice had no flavor at all. I will NEVER go back to Evergreen after this disgusting food. I took a couple bites and returned for a refund. The employee I talked to copped a major attitude with me and wasn’t the least bit concerned with the fact that his restaurant is serving dangerously undercooked poultry. The unsafe food they served and the lack of concern over public health prompted me to file a complaint with the PA Dept. of Agriculture’s food safety inspectors. There’s plenty of better places in the Mechanicsburg area to go to for Chinese food. Stay away from Evergreen unless you want food poisoning!

Horrible food. Me and my friend literally spit out half of what we ate. And who knows how long that sushi was sitting there. Ive never been a buffet fan and I dont expect much of them. We only went because my friend wanted to go to a buffet and this place was near us. The saving grace of this place was our server. She was very attentive and very sweet. Also noteworthy when we saw the back lot it had all kinds of random trash and broken carts(?) outside. Didn’t look too neat. Who wants food poisoning? Not me.

I’m still pondering why there are so many bad reviews… I though for what this place offered that it was pretty good. I’ve been to other buffets around(aka Hibachi Grill up the road) and this one rates pretty good in my book. For starters, they had a lot of food to offer. They had the basic Chinese food as well as some American and even Sushi. My friend and I both filled up on the sushi and these little dough balls filled with cream cheese. While we waited a few minutes to be seated, we had no problem with our server. She constantly removed unwanted plates and filled our drinks a few times. She was also very friendly. For only $ 10 a person, we really had no complaints. Yeah, it looks like a dump inside because they never changed the décor from when it was a diner, but it was clean. I’d go here again. **Just as a side note, I noticed that they do take-out. Basically they give you a box and you fill it up with whatever you want from the buffet and then you pay before leaving. I’m not sure if they charge based on container or weight, but I know not too many buffets in the DC area let you do that so that was pretty neat in my book.**
