LongHorn Steakhouse

We did go back to Longhorn this year after a not so great experience in December last year and we had a wonderful dinner. The new steak thingie with cheesey bacon stuff on it was very tasty and prepared well. So I would go again however one friend that was at our table went back again very soon after this visit, with her family, and said she had a terrible dinner. They ordered the cheesey steak dinners again and she said they sent them back but the dinners were brought back out no better than they were the first time. It seems Longhorn is not consistent with food or service.

My wife and I enjoy a nice steak dinner from time to time and this Longhorn never disappoints. Our usual orders are Flo’s Fillet and a Renegade Sirloin (with a side of their shrimp and lobster chowder), which almost always come out cooked to perfection.
We had one experience where our fillet was unsatisfactory to us, however the server immediately put another steak in for us and made sure it was done right. Unlike some restaurants, they even let us keep the fillet that wasn’t done right (it was my wife’s order; I’m not nearly as picky!), all for no additional cost. Establishments like this who desire a quality experience for all stand out and this location makes the Longhorn franchise proud!

Food was acceptable. Service was a little off and rushed with the server bringing the checks before eveyone was, done eating. Price was steep. The price of a soda $ 2.99 cmon.

Best steak for the value and in many ways better or at least in the ranks of Texas Roadhouse (for those who are loyal to roadhouse).
Why? I got fresh bread, a shareable appitizer, tons of drinks, a nice salad and my steak with a choice of side. The service was very good, but a bit on the slow side.
Overall, the restaurant was quite packed this evening and we still got all our courses delivered in a reasonable time.
STEAKS:Our steaks were a bit over cooked with poor marbling and lacking in flavor a bit. A1 fixed that.
DRINKS: I ordered the margarita. All drinks are generous and not watered down. They are served in carafes or shakers, making it a double serving.
SERVICE: There was enough wait time between the servers visits for us to endulge on each item. I will definitely visit again. I wouldn’t go out of my way obviously (it’s a chain). Also, there are yummier options which are locally owned establishments. These are unfortuneately, higher priced.
For being a reasonably priced steak house option nearly a mile from my home, to me, it deserves 5 stars. I will give it 4 since I am bias on its proximity. It isn’t a spectacular meal experience, but for what we paid, distance drove, amount and quality of food and drink consumed, We were indeed happy campers!

The food is always very good here. This time I got the flank steak, my wife got the prime rib, my mother got blackened shrimp, and my kids got the grilled cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly. The seasonings are spot on and the food is brought out promptly. The wait staff is a bit slower than at most places but I think it is due to the slower paced atmosphere. All in all a great place to take the family out. The company I work for also has special dinners here, so they do great with large number parties.

Our party of 6 dined here last night & could not have been more pleased! Normally I’m not a fan of chain restaurants so this was a pleasant surprise. Ou waitress, Amber, was a pro & didn’t miss a beat. EVERTHING including the bread was delicious. We all ordered different variations of beef, which is what you should order at a steakhouse. Each order was done perfectly. I’m looking forward to my next meal here.

Before I start my review, I wanted to mention one little issue with time I was here. They have signs up that if you join their club, you will get a free appetizer. The only problem is that you won’t get that free appetizer until a week later in your email, so you can’t use it unless you join the club at least a week before you visit Longhorn. Get with the times! So many other restaurants have instant perks. Our waitress said that it does take a while to get the free app coupon.
Anyways, I have been here three times since they have opened this location, and never have had an issue. Waitstaff are usually very polite and know how to wait tables, kitchen staff do their jobs very well. Our waitress was perfect with everything!
This time I was at Longhorn I had their Parmesan Chicken with asparagus. The chicken is a little salty, but I believe this is just how it is every time since I had it before, and I love the topping on the chicken. We had several appetizers — fried asparagus which was nice and crispy with a good dipping sauce. We also had the mushrooms… get the mushrooms! So good. I will order two mushroom appetizers for my entrée next time!
This place is always quiet for a restaurant. I don’t know why but it is never loud in here, which is nice.
I will be back, and will actually be able to get a free appetizer next time.

Very satisfying, caring server, steaks cooked to order, we enjoyed a perfect dinner there, nice atmosphere.
I was not so satisfied after we visited the Harrisburg LongHorns couple of weeks ago but this branch in Mechanicsburg was excellent.

Look. It is a chain steakhouse. It has to be at the top of the list in that category. I’ve never been disappointed and and sampled pretty much the entire menu.
Tonight, the KC Sirloin, with carmelized bacon on top was nothing short of amazing.
This place does it right. Huge recommend… other than the chilly dining room.

The staff really makes this location stand out. Not to mention the food is excellent!

Tried this place twice. Both times ordered steak medium rare. Both times it came out well done.

Have eaten here several times. Steaks been tender perfectly cooked and flavorful. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt. Enjoyed the new tomato basil soup. Did not care for the shrimp and lobster chips&dip. Shrimp rubbery and chips were chewy instead of fresh and crisp.

I really enjoyed the 8 oz. filet steak (so tender and tasty) and the drinks (strong and tasty, too!) The service was quick even a busy Friday night for dinner.

Usually we have good service here and I personally think lunch time is the time to go. Portions are much smaller. One time we went in and were seated in a section with children all around us crying, screaming, carrying on. It wasn’t a peaceful dinner considering it was 9pm. The last time we went in they messed up my order and I had to send my baked potato back three times to be corrected. However, we normally have a good meal here. The parmesan crusted chicken is my absolute favorite and I usually order it with extra parmesan crust sauce on it so I have enough for leftovers. Some of the waitresses remember us each time we go in and most of the time because I order the same food, they finish my sentences for me. It’s always nice to have that feeling going into a restaurant.

This was absolutely amazing! Everything from the service to the food was GREAT!
Just one little warning, If you get the Chocolate Stampede, make sure you have plenty of people to share it with. It’s FREAKIN HUGE!

We went here for the first time in quite a while. I had the Flo’s filet which was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I asked for a peach sangria, which came in a margarita glass instead of a wine glass. Not impressed. But the steak was great and the seasonal vegetables were good as well. I always thought this place was more expensive than other steak places, but its really only a couple dollars more. They also have call-​ahead seating.

The first and last time I will ever come here. I didn’t have bad service, or the best food either. Just wasn’t my type of place. I’m not big on steakhouses either, so that doesn’t help with my ratings.

Fairly good food and reasonably priced steaks. Will return.
Wife and I usually go at off hours, so I can’t say how it is when very busy.
The wild-​west shrimp is not very good like everyone says. A bunch of tiny shrimp battered and so greasy I started feeling sick. Mac and cheese is also way too cheesy (although my wife loves it), but the homemade-​tasting mashed potatoes and shrimp topped steak were good enough to def. come back when I’m craving a steak.
Probably a 3.5÷5, the appetizer was rather disappointing.

Will not return. Five minute wait for hostess to show up at front door. $ 24 steak was not as good as a precooked Buffett steak. Rack of ribs was small and lacked flavor. Overpriced and not a very good dinner.

This place is excellent! Ribeye was succulent. Prices are very reasonable. Sides are delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. One of the best I’ve had.
