One of the most detailed reviews of this restaurant and the manager tells the Unilocal readers to ignore it.
If that doesn’t say something about their lack of service and regard for their customersI don’t know what does.
My husband & I ride motorcycles and we make it a point to frequent local businesses as we both believe they deserve it and I do leave reviews-​good and bad, primarily on TripAdvisor but I wanted to make sure this particular review was seen elsewhere so I posted it on their FB, Tripadvisor and here.
This place is overpriced and their food is not typical Mechanicsville food. I was born and raised here, you want good food, go to Gus for lunch or dinner over off Bell Creek. You live in KW, hit up Redwood Grill or Seafarers. You want breakfast-​go anywhere-​Wafflehouse even but here.
It is obvious no one cares in this restaurant from management down to the waitstaff. Sadly they are one of the few sit down restaurants this far down 360 before hitting KW so I’m sure that plays a big part in their success. Too bad people don’t look at service before looking at convenience.

The poutine isn’t quite legit. The cheesecurds are fried in this tater tot looking thing so it’s not melting over the fries. The gravy was alright and the fries were pretty good and potato-​y. The green onions on top was unconventional…
I got the waffle with scrambled eggs and sausage. The waffle was a little harder than I would have liked but everything else was alright. They don’t have the chicken and waffles meal that I came here for due to their Unilocal pics FYI!

I had one experience here during lunch hours and discovered a very unique menu with a great variety that won’t be easily found at a similarly priced diner. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. I say the food itself isn’t anything amazingly stand out, but it’s certainly worth what you pay for it. Therefore, I can’t complain.

I have found the «go to «place for anything I’m craving. Riverbound’s menu and prices are sure to please any appetite or budget. GO for Burger Night on Monday night! It was packed, however we were seated immediately and our server, Rhonda, was top notch. Have eaten there three times total and have not been disappointed anytime. I will be going back and spreading the word. Keep it up Riverbound!

Very clean and spacious. The grits were nothing to write home about as they were a bit undercooked. The Spinach and the After the Run omelettes were full of fresh vegetables but wet very much on the bland side. The food was delivered very quickly, although the wait staff were not very personable.

We’ve been here many times. The service is usually great and the food is excellent. Their onion rings (and their housemade dipping sauce served with them) are the best!

Enjoyed the tuna wrap more than the redeye burger. Fries are great, onion rings too. Very good portions and great service. Nice interior. Seems like it gets a lot of repeat customers. Would like to go back again soon.

We have eaten here several times, and every time has been a five star experience. The food is of high quality, and the prices are very reasonable. The sailor is my favorite, stuffed with pastrami and a high-​quality knockwurst, and so tangy with the brown mustard. Fries are very good. much better than fast food. The service is always quick and friendly. Wish they were open later than 2 on Sunday, but the staff certainly deserves the break.

We came for breakfast on a Thursday and it was not crowded. The prices seem reasonable for breakfast food. When the waitress came to take our order my wife tried to make a substitution and she stated that there are no substitutions for breakfast… The food came out quick, my wife ordered French toast which were not cooked all the way through. The grits were nothing special and tasted like they came out of a box. Overall this was a decent place to eat but it was certainly nothing special.

I enjoyed the friendly service here and the bar area is spacious. This would be a great place for groups.

I’m a huge fan of this place. Glad I found it. I think the only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the emphasis I put on atmosphere, which it’s lacking, but the food and service is great. The prices are spot on for what you get, and the quality and variety exceeds what you’d expect (again, not much atmosphere). Nice surprises to choose from, not just the usual, like a choice of chili, pulled pork barbeque or crab dip on the Nachos. Their mimosas are fantastic, not tinsey winsey (hate that), and the She Crab soup is worth the hype. Haven’t tried it for breakfast/​brunch, but I’m on a mission to try it out.

My whole family eats at Riverbound every week. It’s an easy spot, with a local feel and solid breakfast and lunch dishes. The kids seem to go with chocolate pancakes while the adults gravitate to the burgers, wraps and sandwiches. And of course, tater tots all around. The wait staff is always helpful and the food comes quick. In Mechanicsville there aren’t many local options that serve good food at a great price, but this family friendly option hits the spot. You’ll never see it on the food network but we go there all the time for a reason.

First time here and I will be back! Girlfriend and I had the Riverbend Benedict and it was amazing. English muffin with crab cake and a pouched egg!

Service was great. Place is clean. Food was ok, somewhat bland. The syrup was horrible. French toast was awesome. Prices are ok. We were looking for a local place and found a pretty good one.

Breakfast is OK but the food is very bland during other meals. Also, it’s pretty expensive for the quality of food you recieve. I recommend you only eat here for breakfast.

Ordered the 3 eggs & a handful dish and crab cake and eggs breakfast. Both were yummy and filling; great way to start the day… food is great, customer service is good. Plan on coming back when ever we’re back in town.

Enjoy breakfast here a lot but it gets pretty busy so get their early! I enjoyed the more traditional offerings there and the service is good though when busy it feels quite crowded

I enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere and affordable mix of comfort food. IMO the interior could use a makeover. The Shrimp N Grits was good but the dish was missing a signature spark. For an extra $ 1 my dish was garnished with sautéed onions and bacon. As a side dish I had small cup of chili. It had a mild blend of spices with rich flavor.
My friend ordered the JUST IN PASTA dish, delicious balance of rich and creamy penne pasta with chicken. The chopped salad was scrumptious and enjoyable.
We will definitely go back again.

Hearty breakfast. Food heavier than I am used to. Ask for your bread separated so it is not mushy. Open 7 AM to 9 PM M-​Sat, 8 AM– 2 PM.

We’ve eaten here twice and this second time will be our last.
The club sandwich was pretty tastelss and served with fries that were only warm and SOGGY. The BBQ shrimp was way overcooked and not very good. The garden salad with chicken was a disappointment also.
I ordered sweet tea and I think someone dumped the whole sack of sugar in the mixing bucket… way too sweet even for my tastes.
Service was just OK. They were slow at bring more napkins when requested, slow with glasses of water.
The restaurant is open and spacious and had a fair amount of customers and appeared clean and tidy.
Prices are quite high for what you get and for the quality of the food.
