The bakery in this store is amazing. Bought a mini German chocolate cake that was delish! Prices are better than the competition too.

Not a bad store. I prefer to come here for certain products instead of Shoprite. The store is clean, well stocked, and organized. The staff are very efficient and friendly for the most part. Some of the prices are above average, and more than Shoprite. But I like that they have the dollar section, always good if you just want a snack, the hoagies are very good.

This store has really changed. I noticed that little by little, some of my favorite brands were disappearing from Shoprite(Medford) & I was driving to Acme to get them. When Shoprite introduced my favorite coffee & then promptly ran out with no backup stock, it was time to give Acme a serious look. Employees there are always friendly and helpful. Prices are just like Medford — sometimes they’re a great deal & other times you’re gonna pay full price. One issue — the seafood department just doesn’t look appealing. It may be just the way seafood is displayed or that they need a new modern display case. May sound trivial but you want to feel that they didn’t just unwrap the stuff left over from the past week.

A bad review solely based on a coupon policy is not a good representation of this store. My experiences with this Acme have always been pleasant. The last time I shopped here was the day before Thanksgiving. I am actually closer to the ShopRite up the street, but their parking lot was absolutely mobbed. Acme had maybe 50 cars in the parking lot, which meant I could get in and out in a breeze. A crowded parking lot is an easy way to keep me out, so it was a pleasure to find a store that wasn’t crawling with last-minute shoppers like myself! This Acme as compared to other grocery stores in the area has a smaller meat section, but it does cover the basics. Their produce is always fresh and I have never had a problem finding what I need. I have found, however, that their prices are a bit better than the store up the street, so price coupled with never having to wait in line is why I keep gravitating back to this store. I think aesthetically it could use a little more remodeling to attract more customers, but it’s a good store nonetheless.

I am writing about the ACME Medford, NJ location. There is a Customer Service Manager with the name Sara who, for being there for 42 years, has no idea what their coupon policy is. Today’s visit was the worst experience I have every had. Their coupon policy is to double any manufacturers coupon up to 99 cents in value. She refused and said«I just can’t do it» and offered no explanation. I had four, 75 cents off coupons for coffeemate and she would only double the first two. My second problem was with a coupon for a free bottle of Excedrin. I received this coupon directly from the manufacturer via mail. Once again, she had a problem and stated that«We cannot take Free Item coupons. I then had a coupon for one free weight watchers frozen meal. I had clipped this directly from the Sunday paper. She stated „we can’t take this one either.“ Forget about using their self-checkout registers because they have blocked the coupon slot so no one can use coupons in this line unless you scan the coupon then hand them your coupon each and every time. for each coupon. YOU have to SCAN and HAND each coupon. This takes up to 3 minutes per coupon because they have to do it one at a time and refuse to do it for you. Plus they normally do not staff a person to manage the self checkout lanes. You have to wait for someone when a problem arises. I kept the best for last! I purchased their fried chicken for dinner from their deli counter. My Husband found a 6» wire inside of the breast of chicken. I don’t know how it got there but it is literally entangled inside the chickens bone through the breast meat. It looks like chicken coop wire. He could have gotten very sick and could have cut his mouth. I am glad this did not happen!!! I have contacted Acme Headquarters as well as the store manager. It’s really a shame because this used to be a great place to shop. .
