3 weeks ago I hurt my neck. About 5 days after, I couldn’t even turn my head without pain. I called Message Theropy and they saw me within a couple hours– even though it was a Sunday. After 45 minutes on the table I left feeling ok but not great. After a good nights sleep, I woke up feeling 100%.

I went in for a sports massage with Gordon yesterday for the first time, hoping he could help me out with some seriously tight calves. I went in knowing that this was not going to be a relaxing massage, but one to help me get the kinks out before I run a half marathon next week. Gordon did a great job getting the knots and tension out of my legs, both in my calves and in muscles I didn’t even know needed tlc! It was in no way as painful as I thought it would be, he has a great way of knowing what a person’s pain threshold is. Being a runner, he also provided me with a ton of advice with my training(I’m running my first marathon in January) and some info on the Somerville Road Runners. My legs feel great today(albeit a little sore, as to be expected, but definitely much looser!) and I know I’ll definitely be back when I need more work done! Thanks, Gordon!

When I first moved to Boston 10 years ago, I massage hopped, looking for the right person to work out those stress-induced knots and the odd run-induced shin splint. Once I met Gordon, my searching stopped. He can do incredibly deep work to address injuries, but he can also do amazingly relaxing massage that puts you in that«I’m not sure I should be operating heavy machinery» haze. Absolutely 5 stars!

I was told about Gordon by a friend who also runs marathon and it was sort of like those word of mouth you want to trust when undergoing an injury almost a month before Boston. He did a thorough job with loosening my ITB and his familiarity with a runner’s body gives him an edge over other sports massage therapists. It is a clean environment and I enjoyed that there were NO fancy pants aromatherapy stuff, music, candles, etc that usually you would expect to see when lying on a massage table.

I’ve had lots of massages and other work done as I have scoliosis and a new jaw injury. Gordon is very smart, is a marathon runner, and gives the best massages I’ve ever had. He also has turned his new space into a very nice relaxing spot. I’d recommend him to anyone, with injuries or not.

The perfect place to go for a sports massage. Massage Therapy Inc’s owner Gordon Pilotte is also a marathon runner, so he knows what your legs and back need while you are training or recovering. The prices are also cheaper than just about any other shop in town. Minus one star, however, because the location is in West Medford, and is kind of a hike from the red line.
