Died and gone to heaven! This place has the absolute best food/breakfast/brunch EVER, EVER, EVER!!! The waffles are amazing. The savory is delicious and flavorful. The only downside is that the coffee isn’t as good as the food, but that won’t keep me from going back every single dingle weekend. They offer an ever changing menu with one sweet and three savory options — all of which will never disappoint!

We tried this for the first time after hearing rave reviews from friends. It didn’t disappoint. I was worried it would be packed. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The waitress let us know that Saturday’s are more casual & Sunday’s are more packed. The menu changes each week. You can find out what’s cooking on their social media, or just show up & be surprised. I had a sausage, apple, cheddar omelette with potato cake. It was flavorful and not drenched in cheddar cheese, like many breakfast places do. I enjoyed my relaxing breakfast with a mimosa. An absolute treat. My husband had the fall hash with eggs and a vanilla porter. He enjoyed it. We both felt full without feeling stuffed. It’s definitely a fun an unique dining experience & we’ll be back.

Over Easy is a «pop up» restaurant that operates out of the Downtown Market Co. on Sundays — soon also on Saturdays they say. So all the charm of Downtown’s atmosphere and dining around the chef apply here too. There were only four plate choices on the menu today — blackboarded out front, which changes from week to week. It would be neat to get the menu online, before you go, to know if they’re cooking up something you’d like to try. Two items seemed like they’d work for us, so we tried them — and they were fairly good, but not awesome enough to rave about them like other reviewers have, but good enough that we’ll likely try them again. If you enjoy dining off the well-worn brunch-menu circuit and enjoy the risk of chef’s choice, I think you’ll enjoy this experience. Your milage will invariably vary, but here’s my reality … My choice was the bacon braised collard greens with sous vide egg, cornbread and kielbasa. I’m not a cornbread fan, but the finely grained cube of corn goodness was excellent and I ate it all. The sausage was perfectly grilled. The collard greens was rough cut and only lightly blanched in a savory soup with tasty bacon chunks, topped with sous vide eggs. So here’s the problem, sous vide eggs are really difficult to get right, when the yolks turn to a sublime custard the albumin is still undercooked — and I do not like glassy poached eggs, so I quickly stirred them away into my soupy collards which are separately served in a ramekin. Perhaps the intention was that the collard«soup» would be hot enough to continue cooking the eggs, but not so, unfortunately. As much as I enjoyed the collards, and spooned up all the liquid using a teaspoon, I thought it was fundamentally too wet. Dipping cornbread into it help sop up some, but there was way more liquid than the cornbread alone could transport and forkfulls on slices of kielbasa dripped all the way up to my mouth, making it a challenge to eat: A teaspoon worked best in the end. My wife chose the black bean and cheese quesadilla with scrambled eggs and grilled corn with green chili pico and pretty much enjoyed it all. Short wait to be seated, but unhurried at the table. Two tables on the street, several around the chef in his kitchen and more seating under umbrellas out back on the patio.

Wow. Quite possibly the best brunch I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious food. Creative & unique without being cloyingly strange. Chill atmosphere, and both the chef & the servers obviously care. We found this place on a lark on a road trip, but now I can foresee us scheming up reasons to end up in Medford on a Sunday morning.

OMG, what a marvelous find this was!!! We were passing through Medford from California to Oregon. I found this on Unilocal and decided to try it. Wow, how fortuitous was that!!! This is a most unusual place. During the week, it is another, entirely different restaurant, Downtown Market. On Sundays, another chef comes in every week and transforms it into this wonderfully unique, gourmet brunch spot. The menu changes every week and since it is not a permanent place, this qualifies as a «pop up restaurant!» Here’s what we had. From these two menu selections, you’ll get an idea of just how creative and unique this place really is. I had the Caramelized Onion, Sausage and Mushroom Omelet with Potato Cakes and Arugula($ 10). There was a mild cheese in the omelet that was perfect as it added richness but it was mild enough not to overpower the eggs, mushrooms and sausage. It was one of the very best omelets I can remember. The potato cake was outstanding — not just fried mashed potato as it had a nice, seasoned flavor of its own. My wife had the Croque Formage with Smoked Tomato Sauce, Baked Eggs and Pea Shoots. OMG, it was to die for! The egg was done in a Sous Vide machine at precisely 143° F for 45 minutes. This resulted in setting the egg white but the yolk was still liquid so that it acted like a thickened sauce! If you want pain, standard breakfast fare, this place is not for you!!! Jim

Amazing brunch! Everything we had was terrific, and the service was outstanding. Everyone from the hostess to the owner was very friendly and helped to make it an exceptional dining experience. The hibiscus mimosa was a stand-out. I would definitely come back.

Truth be told, I have been hesitant to review Over Easy, not because it is anything less than amazing, but because I sort of don’t want everyone to find out and make it that much more popular. The beauty of Over Easy is threefold: amazing food, relaxed atmosphere, great service. The menu changes every week, three savory options and one sweet, and I have never been disappointed in what I order. Typically my husband and I each order a savory and then split the sweet option. Pair that with coffee or a delicious mimosa and we are set. To date, my personal favorites are the polenta with bolognese sauce and the lemon zest & thyme pancakes. If either of those show up on the menu, ORDERTHEM. Now, for people who are looking for flapjacks and sausage links, I fully support the love of classic breakfast food and the ability to personalize your combinations, but this is not that place. Sure, a diner breakfast can be great, especially when you are looking for a very specific meal. At Over Easy, Chef Braden Hitt has taken care and time to develop his recipes, making sure that each ingredient plays a part in the overall taste of the dish. Put your trust in the man, he clearly knows what he is doing; he won’t lead you astray. The open kitchen allows you to see Chef Braden working his magic with a near flawless system in an intimidatingly crowded space. Stephanie, the hostess/waitress, is a pure delight, welcoming you every Sunday with enthusiasm, and doing a great job of getting to know the regulars. New additions have been made to the team as business has picked up, and they are equally awesome. Yes, it can get pretty hectic at times, as it is a small space. Yes, there can be a substantial wait sometimes(which, if you come from a Portland Brunch background is nothing out of the usual) but it is ALWAYS worth it. Braden and the rest of the team are doing something that is unique in the Rogue Valley, and I, for one, am so happy they are.

Super chill, not-at-all stuffy venue, with the most welcoming environment. Open kitchen where you can see chef Braden Hitt cook – or more appropriately stated, flourish – and hostess/waitress Stephanie who is as lovely and on-point as one can be. The food is ridiculously good and fresh. The menu changes weekly, which is great if you are a local who makes this a regular. The pomegranate and hibiscus mimosas are amazing, as are the red beers which use, of course, local beer. Eat, drink, and be merry; watch Braden do what he loves, while having a cocktail and coffee, eating yummy food, and being spoiled by Stephanie, all the while being in an inviting environment. You really can’t get any better. Oh, and football lovers, there is a tv playing the game in clear view. Hello.
