Pomodori Bistro & Wine Bar

New owners are really inviting and the menu is fantastic. Although not a gluten free establishment they can make subs to get to as close to GF as possible. New favorite spot!

My wife and I went here last night and both really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Clean place, friendly staff, and lots of good choices on the menu. The service was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly. The prices were fair and we will be back!

My first time visiting Medford, had a new client and was spending about 3 days in the little city and had one of the guys I was working on my project with tell me this was the place to go.
The food–
Quite good. had a red pepper gnocchi that was really well done.
Service–
Eh. They are very chatty with the regulars, and while that is quaint and nice and all, it shouldn’t come at the expense of the other diners. Shut up and fill my water glass already! ;)
The ambience–
Nice. Not too loud, not too snotty. Pretty nice.
The area–
Interesting. Right next door to a nudie bar. (See other review)
Overall–
3 out of 5. I will make a point to try it again if I get the chance.

Food was absolutely amazing and the service matched… I recommend the goat cheese appetizer…
We will definitely be back so we can try more of their amazing food :)))

Good OR wine list and great food.

Have always had a good lunch and shared some glasses of wine with friends (great local selection!). The ambience is great and the staff has always been very nice. I always look forward to going to Pomodori

I only give 3 stars for the food. I had the Parmesan chicken and it was great. The service was HORRIBLE!!! Don’t go here expecting your waiter to be attentive. We had to ask other waiters for more water because our waiter disappeared. We also asked for more bread… which we never received.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Medford, always delicious! We were there a few weeks ago remembering my mother-​in-​law who recently passed. This was always her favorite restaurant also. Our server was Annette and she was wonderful! She let us sample wines before we decided on a bottle. Rather than just bring our meal, she asked if we were ready. We were able to spend a couple of hours just visiting/​remembering and when we were ready for our meal it was prepared at that time. I had the Seafood Pomodori and it was prepared just like I like it. Since everything is prepared when you order it, they can modify it specifically to your tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. It’s a smaller place so the noise is never so loud that you can’t hear whomever you are dining with.
I highly recommended Pomodori, and the way Annette treated us just reaffirmed why this is one of our favorites. Never had a meal that was less than wonderful.

Great value for lunch! Food distinctively flavoured. Friendly service. Good ambience. Recommended — we’ll be back. Off street parking available.

Went on a friend’s review and was very pleased.
I had the Sweet Chili Mahi Mahi and my husband had Seafood Pomodori. Both were exceptional dishes (mine was better!). We did receive bread with seasoned butter and wonderful salad with our meal my husband (a big eater) was stuffed and I took half my meal home, which was wonderful even heated up the next afternoon! Though we only drank the tea they did have a wonderful selection of local brews and wines.
Our waiter was great, the second waitress was apparently running late, the waiter joked and laughed with us and the other guests, he seemed to be handling the early crowd well on his own. When the waitress arrived she jumped right in to help.
We will definitely be returning.

Had the Mac and cheese here and it was phenomenal! Pretty good service but even better food, lived here forever and just found it. Make sure to get reservations!!!

Real food prepared well is not easy to find in Medford. You can find it here: last night had the chicken marsala and salmon piccata. The chicken and salmon had just the right amount of carmelization and seasoning with a pasta. House made french bread with a seasoned butter and house made salad dressings. A full bar, great wine list. Atmosphere is a renovated old town brick, interesting art, artful pendants lights and casual. It is the only Italian restaurant in Medford that we go to and we have tried them all. Once this place is discovered you will not be able to get in without a reservation.

It makes absolutely no sense that this restaurant is not in at least the top 10, even the top 5! I think its a matter of people knowing it exists and trying it. It’s amazing Italian food, and while the service may not always be prompt, the food is SO worth the wait!

Had dinner here last night. We were a walk-​in and they had quite a few reservations. There were only two staff on to run the front of the house. I have eaten here several times, and hospitality has always been the weak spot. I just want to be greeted quickly and with a touch of enthusiasm– doesn’t seem like too much to ask. Last night we were seated fairly quickly (although without the quick/​enthusiastic greeting) and brought water. Then we waited… Not sure how long exactly but too long. When our server came, she didn’t say hello or introduce herself she just asked what she could get us. We wanted a drink to start which seemed like an inconvenience as she was ready to take our dinner order. At that point we started watching the service to other tables. We literally timed one table and it was 20 minutes after they were sat before they got their wine!!! It was frustrating to watch all the tables wait for something and the servers attempt to do it all. As I mentioned, the servers were trying to do all front of house duties — but there was NO hustle — mostly it was a slow saunter that pained me to watch as a prior server myself.
Food was good as usual but sadly not good enough to tolerate service like this. The whole point to encouraging reservations is to adequately staff and these two clearly needed a hostess, busser, or bartender — or they need to move a lot quicker and learn to be better teammates.

This place is fantastic and highly recommend it… food was fabulous. .wine selection was amazing .lots of local wines!

I had a really nice overall experience. The flatbread appetizer was very undercooked, but the flavored were awesome. The lobster stuffed mushrooms were delicious with that creamy pepper sauce on the side. The chicken Marsala was very tasty, but the pasta itself was pretty under-​seasoned. I’d give that dish a try again, though, for sure! The service was relatively slow, but our server was super cool — I just liked her demeanor & she checked in on us quite often. We asked if we could do a flight of wines to taste & she was totally accommodating & came up with something on the fly! Oh & because we paid with cash, we got 10% off the entire bill! Such a great promotion!

Dinner at Pomodori on business trip to Medford. Turn on to Pomodori by business associate and glad for the referral! Had the Salmon Piccata and it was wonderful. Large portion and the prices are amazing. Definitely will be back here again! Great local wines as well. Had the Trium Rose (Granache & Tempranillo), which was great! Another great Southern Oregon wine.

Expecting great things but was less than impressed. Had the rib eye with asparagus and risotto. Everything was extremely salty to the point I could not eat. In addition the rib eye was a poor cut of meat and over cooked. Ordered medium rare and was served medium. Wine was good. Visiting with friends was great.

Fabulous meal, great service and a great night! We came in on New Year’s Eve without a reservation and they so kindly squeezed us in, despite having been booked solid for days. We started with glasses of local wines – my Paschal Pinot Gris was amongst the smoothest I’ve ever tasted. My beau’s Di’tani-Kriselle red blend was downright dramatic – spicy and full-​bodied. Our salads of local greens were dressed with house made creamy vinaigrette. My crab fettuccine was luscious – large lump crab filling the plate enveloped with a basil cream sauce. My beau had the chicken arancini which, after tonight, is moving from the specials menu to the permanent. Cheese and pancetta wrapped in chicken breast, panko breaded and friend, over linguini. Unbelievable. So so good! Special props to Steve the bartender in his dapper hand-​tied bow tie. He ran his legs off!

I’ll make this short. We loved the food. We started with goat cheese bruschetta. Wow, that was good! In fact every dish we had was great. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because of the service. The service was a 2 out of a 10. Refills were slow. The bread did not arrive until the meal was finished. Even though we asked 4 times. The appetizer came out incorrectly… had to ask for everything multiple times. Basically… awesome food. Poor service. I wouldn’t rule out going here again. But I certainly hope they step up the service. This one thing will be the thing that makes or breaks the restaurant.
