Red Persimmon Nails

This is the worse place for nails that I ever went. First of all they have bad customer service and the service itself is horrible, I mean «horrible». I wish to leave –5 stars (negative if I could). Be aware!!!

Rudest workers here! Everytime I have gone here they act put out by waiting on me! Customer service is important ladies!
Then they talk about you in their language. Don’t try it here trust me.

How long will it take to shut this Nail Salon down.
I went to get my nails done this weekend. The woman did a horrible — horrible job. She literally wet my feet — dried my feet — and put nail polish on my toes. Prior to paying for my pedicure, I explained to the nail tech that I was not pleased with my pedicure. I explained that I had to leave to take care of my baby. She told me «you no like — you come back I do again». In short, I came back and waited 30 minutes. About 5 minutes after being told to pick out a color I was informed by the owner I was not going to get my pedicure redone. I asked for my money back and that’s when the circus begin. I have never been in such an unprofessional place. I had the owner and her twenty something year old daughter screaming at me telling me stating they’re not going to refund my money and that my nails look fine. Then to add insult to injury, I was called old, I was called ugly, and I was called fat by this young girl. At that point I made my complaint to the mall manager.
If you are planning on going to the mall, and decide you want to get your nails done do not go here. There is a nail salon on the other side of the mall that does a much better job and has extremely — extremely professional staff. Clearly by all the other comments listed on Unilocal it doesn’t seem like things have changed.
Hopefully with new mall management we can get another professional company to take that space. Medford is an up-​and-​coming area, and this nail salon is only bringing the mall-​a mall further further in the ground. Mall Management — it’s time to get the old out and come in with the new.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I usually go to another nail salon in the Cambridgeside Galleria but found this place 2 weeks ago and decided to give it a try.
2 days later at a wedding in VT, I noticed the color fading. Actually lots of people noticed the color fading as it was turning an ugly yellowish color in spots.
I did a little Internet research on «why is my nail color fading after 2 days» and sure enough, several results immediately popped up for my color «It’s A Lily» by Gelish.
On returning to MA, I went back to the salon with my receipt that said ‘Red Persimmon Nails’ at the top and asked to speak to someone about their usage of this brand and color that is causing problems for so many people.
I knew that if I did’t say something, then one of you poor shmucks is going to go there and pay $ 35 for a manicure only to have it totally ruined after 2 days.
Well, they asked me over and over again how I could prove that I had my nails done there (yep, while holding the receipt with their name and date at the top, I kid you not)
They asked me to point out the lady who did my nails and when I couldn’t (she wasn’t there) they said again that I couldn’t prove that I got my nails done there. I was looking for the hidden camera as I pointed to their name & address at the top of the receipt.
I must point out that I kept very cool (but firm) throughout this ridiculous ordeal as they basically all called me a liar and were very hostile.
«No re-​do, no re-​do!», yelled one lady. It struck me then that the idiots thought I was there to get a free mani (which I would have been entitled to btw, but I’d never let them near my nails again)
When I calmly explained that all I had asked for, from the moment I entered was to speak to the manager, suddenly the smiles broke out and the fake niceties that I received when I was a paying customer.
Any way, the damage was done. They had already shown their true colors (pun intended)
I’ve been getting my nails done for 10 years and have never had to complain to or about a salon, even once. I’m one of those people who is too lazy to complain usually so you have to have an idea of how bad this manicure was that my lazy ass got up and went in in person to complain about it.
Anyways, you’ve lost a customer, Persimmon nails. And I hope my review saves the rest of you out there from the shittiest manicure of your life.

My favorite nail salon, Nail Essence on Highland Ave down the street was all booked up for the night. My girlfriend didn’t want to wait until tomorrow to come back so I mentioned the only place I could think of that was close, this place. When we walked in, there weren’t many customers and the techs were sitting around talking. This doesn’t bother me, you gotta entertain yourselves on a slow day at work somehow right? Well, my tech was very polite but she did my gel manicure in about 15 minutes. I’m pretty sure the color I picked wasn’t the color I got. It was a really quick clean up and she was gentle, but the paint looks light in some areas, like it needed another coat. I didn’t get a massage, she just put lotion on my hands. A few times when I looked over to my girlfriend, she kept looking at me mouthing «ouch» and I realized the guy who was doing her nails was being very rough and aggressive on her. When she finished she showed me her full set and they were twice as long as she usually gets them. And her fingers were bleeding. The guy was so rough on her. I’ve never seen anyone do that. I will never go back to this place ever again. What a waste of money.

I was in here earlier. Usally I Go to VAN with perfect results and it last me for a good 2 week no chip or any issue. «She is a real professional» stay perfect till I see her again. Today I forget it was her day off. I got this young kid, he is very cute but too fast and painful for my taste. I had to ask him several time to be a little gentle and slow down. In the future i just wait for the professional.

Can you give no stars? Went with 3 female family members to get our nails done before my aunt’s funeral. We thought this would help with the stress, it was July 4^th so not much we could be doing otherwise.
The manicurist who worked on my cousin cut her foot with the pumice & said she didn’t do it. My cousin was bleeding. the same cousin asked the manicurist to not rip her acrylic nails off, who replied she was too sensitive. At the end this person attempted to take her own tip from the change. Another member in our party was charged for service she didn’t get.
Terrible time. Will not be back. So unprofessional.

awful. got a gel manicure and within 2 days they were peeling off my nails. after exactly 1 week i went back to get then fixed (5 at this point) and they said they would fix them THIS TIME but that it was my fault and i need to be careful. they tried to tell me it was because i have «oily» skin so they may only last 10 days. besides the fact that my skin is so dry my cuticles are all cut up, that atill woulnt explain ive been getting my nails done for years and never had an issue, never coming back
here.

I have been to this place more than 3 times hoping that they would change their attitude and act more professional but no I shouldn’t have even hoped for it. This place is the least professional nail salon I’ve ever seen. They literally don’t care about you. They don’t answer your questions at all and you end up getting something you don’t even want. If you are close by to this place, don’t go there and go to the one right inform of stop&shop right before the lights. That place is amazing and they do a great job!

I’ve gone here 3 times for gel manis and waxing. The management here knows nothing, and doesn’t care about, customer service. The first 2 manis I got here were fine, but the most recent one was awful. The operator was distracted turning to watch TV and did a lousy job. When I complained about uneven nails and bubbling nail polish, the manager gave me a bad time… telling me she spent enough time and the mani. was «good.» She kept jabbering in incoherent English so much that I paid and left. On another occasion, I heard the male manager being extremely rude to an elderly handicapped woman. I’ll go where my business is appreciated. Also, this mall is shabby and not really safe. I won’t be back.

Tanya does an amazing job on my nails!!! The atmosphere is very cheery and great!!! It really is a one stop beauty place. They also do waxing and hair. I have never had my hair done here but I saw Tony do an amazing modern style for someone the other day!!!

I went in for a pedicure and a full set of nails on a Wednesday evening, and it took over 3.5 hours. The pedicure was actually decent — nothing special, but no issues either. Just what you’d expect.
The nails, though, were a disaster.
1) I was worked on by 3 different techs, the last of which was the owner.
2) I requested a pink & white set, which I’ve been wearing for years, excluding the last 18 months, due to pregnancy/​infant. They told me that had become outdated, and that a new liquid gel option would be better. They assured me that it wouldn’t chip or yellow.
3) One of the reasons I prefer the pink & white is that the white is white all the way through — not just a coat of white paint on top. It looks better all the way around, in my opinion, and if it DOES chip, it doesn’t really show badly, because it’s white under the chip too.
4) when I realized he wasn’t going to use a white liquid gel, I protested, and he refused to do what I wanted. At that point, I was pretty well committed to getting my nails done, and didn’t seem to have much choice.
5) He did a lousy job with the horrid white paint he used.
6) The nails chipped in 2.5 days — two hours BEFORE the wedding I was to be in.
All in all, it was the worst set of nails and experience I’ve had in 15 years of frequenting nail salons, and I’ll never go back. And to top it off, they charged $ 70. Complete ripoff.

I came to the nail salon and asked how long the wait would be. Front desk girl said 10−15mins. I said ok i’ll be back in 10mins so i can get some cash for tip and an ice coffee. Came back sat in a chair for 5mins which in total us teh 15mins she said i would have had to wait to be seen. I get called over to sit at a pedicare station and then proceed to I sit in the pedicure chair for 25 mins with my feet in the water pruning up and them saying someone would be there in a minute after I had to ask TWICE.
YEAH RIGHT. NO ONE came over after 25mins lapsed. HELL NO. I got up and left. That’s bullshit. On to the next one. Not going there again.

I hate to do this because this place is busy enough on the weekends, but Joanne gives a great eyebrow wax. Waxed, trimmed shaped and perfectly arched. She’s a real artist.
Tony gives a good haircut and is well versed in many modern styles.
Haven’t had a Mani & Pedi — only because I am loyal to Dazzling Nails in Cambridge.
Why 4 not 5 — atmosphere — a little crowded, space could be arranged better so that you’re not on display when getting an eyebrow wax, but it’s not as bad as getting threaded at one of those push carts in the middle of the mall right?
Oh — and the price is extremely reasonable.

Bad customer service. Went in today to get a mani pedi with my daughter as a walk in. After waiting a while they tell us they can only take one but somebody’s done in two minutes. They then seat three people ahead of me and leave me sitting there another ten minutes. I told them when they came for me they just lost my business. Fail.

My mother, my sister and I called a day in advance to make an appointment for pedicures and manicures at 8:00. I remembered that they had alot of pedicure chairs, so if we called in advance, they would save three seats in a row so that we could have our pedis together. Right? Wrong.
Red Persimmon does not honor appointments. If you are a walk in, then you are in luck! Because you get my mother’s seat!
We came in at 8 on the dot. The three of us chose our colors and awkwardly looked at the only two pedicure chairs available. I knew this would happen. We were told that two of us could have a seat, while the other would have to wait. My mother pushed my sister and I to go first. Poor ma! She waited several minutes to sit two seats away from us. So much for girl time.
Pedicures were very short, but came out good.
My sister and I were halfway done with our manis by the time my mother was done with her pedi. She didn’t end up getting her manicure, I think because she didn’t want to make us wait. Poor ma! I would have waited!
Long story short, they did not honor our appointment and my mom got screwed! Two stars for two good mani/​pedis, minus three for putting mommy in the corner!

I have now been there twice for haircuts.
Tony is amazing! (pretty cute too, as is the whole staff, they
really look amazing, stylish and cutting edge. That is what you want to see at a beauty service business)
I arrived both times without an appointment and
never had to wait long.
I show him a picture of an exotic haircut, with just a moments glance, he can make it happen. He is a hair sculpture artist!
He takes his time, never distracted by the rabble, drama, and child daycare environment that is the Meadow Glen Mall. (Just close your eyes, relax and ignore it).
He makes you feel comfortable, light talk, but without that pressured feeling of needing to gossip and yap the whole time.
Great price, (less expensive than the uppity salons) high quality, and the
entire staff is attentive, non-​judgemental, professional, and polite.
They offer hair, nails, waxing, and more.
They are the only reason I will put my head down and brave this mall.
(and if you know me, this is quite a feat of bravery)

I do luv this place !!! But I usually get this gal Angel and there this guy (grr i forgot his name). I don’t like getting my nails done by anybody else. I could tell these two to make designs or choose colors for my nails. and they do a great job !!!

First… I HAVE TO STRESS… I do everything humanly possible to avoid the meadow glenn mall which has to be the absolute worst «mall» Ive ever encountered in my 40 plus years. However in a bind one particular night I stumbled into the mall for a quick wax knowing they were opened late.
Wasnt I surprised when a young stylish man introduced himself and quickly got me in for a wax. Admiring his own hair, I asked if by any chance he cut hair. He replied of course… would you like to give me a try. Besides being a pizza snot, hair is next on my agenda of things that must be perfect!
I thought… well I could use a trim… how bad could this get?
Well let me tell you… Edward Scissorhands as I call him… was absolutely amazing. I also must stress the head massage, shoulder and neck massage he volunteered while washing my hair prior to the cut was a HUGE BONUS! I actually almost fell asleep!
BTW Edwards real name is Kim. Keep inmind I walked in at 830 on a Friday night and I didnt leave there until after closing. Quite impressive!
The only reason Im not offering them more than 3 stars is that while I was there… I noticed the entire rest of the staff spent their time on their cell phones or laptops checking out Youtubes. I wondered as I sat there who is going to vacuum, sweep or clean?
The entire salon needs to be run thru a car wash! Beauty supplies on the shelves where so dusty… floors and trash bins overflowing with trash from the day before!
Btw the wax… on a scale from 1 – 10 I would give it a 6! I felt extremely exposed laying back on a sink chair situated in the front of the salon. I found that quite odd.

I made a spontaneous trip to this nail salon with my sister. She occasionally goes here because it is open late enough for her so that she can get her nails done after putting her baby to sleep.
Since I am visiting from out of town, and won’t get to my normal nail place in SF within the next week or 2, I figured I would join her.
I don’t know the name of the girl who did my nails, but I can honestly say that I received one of the worst pedicures I’ve ever had. She didn’t file my nails properly and when I asked her to shorten my nails more, she filed too hard. She had no concept of shape, length or pressure. I felt like I had to watch her every move, and kept correcting her. Unfortunately, she was easily distracted and didn’t pay much attention to what she was doing. She was sloppy and seemed lazy in her approach. I typically like to kick back and enjoy my nail appointment, but in this case I had to keep a watchful eye on the manicurist. My fear was injury…
The only good part about my pedicure was the spa/​massage chair.
After my pedicure we headed over to the manicure table. The manicurist’s station was dirty. Specifically, the towel that was laid out on her table had the previous customer’s nail clippings on it. Uuhhh… no thank you! I immediately asked her to clean the area, and she did. But really… why didn’t she clean the area before I got there?
I experienced some of the same issues during the manicure as during the pedicure. Specifically, the nail file was so hard that it felt like she was scraping a hard rock across my nails. I asked her to use a softer nail file because it was hurting and she said, «I know» and then did nothing. I then changed my my service from a full manicure to a polish change. There was no way I was going to allow this person to cut my cuticles. I really just wanted to get out of there. At one point I had to finish filing my own nails because she did such a bad job with filing and shaping them. I felt bad for her because she was nice. But nice doesn’t mean she was doing a good job.
Interestingly, a very young girl (I think the owner’s daughter) helped translate something for her that I said, and she then told me the manicurist just arrived from Vietnam 2 months ago and her English wasn’t that good.
RED FLAG: If the manicurist arrived from Vietnam 2 months ago, then when exactly did she get her manicurist license??? My understanding is that it takes time to go to school, and then get certified. Plus there are many hours of «field work» that also has to be done before being licensed. I don’t know about you, but I want a trained professional working on my nails. This is more of a sanitary concern than anything else.
The cost of my pedicure and polish change was $ 32. I paid $ 37. If I got the full manicure the cost would have been $ 34.
My suggestion is to avoid this place unless you have absolutely nowhere else to go.
With that said, my sister came out of there with a pretty decent mani/​pedi. Her manicurist seemed to know what she was doing, and you could see that her cuticles were trimmed properly, he nails were filed and shaped properly, and they were polished correctly.
In addition, my sister had her eyebrows waxed, and the woman who did her brow wax was detail oriented and did a pretty good job.
I am giving this place 2 stars only because my sister’s service was decent.
My service sucked. If I was only evaluating my service, and not our overall service/​experience, I would give this place one star.
