Well I guess this time I am really heading for the border… I have continued to go in here several times a month for their Taco Burger since it is the only one I can find in Medford. It’s ok but not great but since it was the only game in town I continued. That is until today. I am in no way a clean freak, but I expect a certain amount of due diligence when it comes to preparing food(especially after Chipotle’s recent issues). Upon arrival, the food prep person was wiping down walls in the prep area with a rag that looked pretty well used. She did have on rubber gloves although they were not thin food prep type gloves but more like something you would use to wash dishes or clean the bathroom with. When she put down the rag and started to prepare my Taco Burger without changing the gloves, I interrupted and asked her to please change gloves before preparing my food. She said that the cleaner was a bleach that they used on all the counters in the prep area indicating to me it really isn’t necessary to change gloves since the cleaner they use is on everything the food touches anyway. I’m sorry but in my mind, isn’t eating food prepared with those gloves that had been holding a dripping dirty rag similar to just eating what is on that rag? She did offer to change gloves and start over but indicated that it really shouldn’t be necessary. I thanked them and told them I’ve changed my mind and left. I will not be back. Isn’t there health department food sanitation rules that would prevent what she was doing?

Not bad, but not great. Stopped by on a Friday night about 6:00 since it was walking distance from my hotel for a quick bite. Inside was all but deserted but drive through was slammed with the after work folks. The staff of 2 was still very friendly and efficient even with the heavy drive through traffic. Very congested seating area(probably why drive through is so popular) but they were very quick and efficient. With that being said got the cheapest combo In case it sucked so I could throw and go. Tacos were a bit bland and sauce was watery, but not bad. Unlike Taco Bell you actually get more than 5 strands of shredded cheese on your taco. In short, would not go out of my way to eat here, but if the area would not hesitate to go back. For the price point, service and speed not bad at all. Not gourmet or authentic, but good, cheep, fast«gringo Mexican» grub.

Just like Taco Bell but with really bad taco sauce. Seriously, even their lettuce has the same awful taste as Taco Bell. They only have one kind of sauce and it is a bad tasting watery mess. Yes, they are cheap but that’s not why we went there. The sign outside says 21 years in business so we thought it must be good.

This place has the best American-style tacos I have ever had. By that, I mean tacos with a crisp shell, ground beef, lettuce, and cheese. The key is their ground beef. It is always cooked perfectly. It’s not a greasy mess and it’s not dried out either — just perfect! They also have a habanero salsa that is really good. Nice flavor and great heat. To me, this combination is perfect. I have tried this style of tacos in hundreds of places and these are easily my favorite. I no longer live in Medford but I drive through regularly and I always try to schedule my trip so that it includes a stop here. For me, five or six of their tacos and a few cold cervezas are my favorite thing to eat. It doesn’t get any better.

It was near HWY238 and it was the closest thing to a Muchas I could find, without actually driving all the way to Muchas. What I really wanted was a quesadilla; I settled for the monster nachos(or whatever they’re called). We ordered our food to go and, if I ever order these nachos again, I will definately not attempt to eat them at 55mph. The styrofoam container was filled to the brim with ingrediants, making for a very messy snack. Thank god the husband was there to hold the bucket while I reached over and blindly grabbed. The nachos were the soupiest mess I’ve ever had. Not bad, not great, just decent enough to not make me feel ripped off. Warning: they use cheese sauce, not melted brick cheese. The olives were funky – I skipped those. The store is a little run down and had I not had the support of two boys in the car, I never would have stopped. The staff were a bit apathetic. I would not recommend this«restaurant» to a starving traveler, but if you want a light snack for cheap, and you need it to be quick, go ahead and give it a try.

Great place for basic fast Mexican food. It is counter service only. The food is all prepared fresh. The taco meat is real meat, not re-hydrated. Family owned and always friendly staff.
