Ordered for someones bday dinner delivery… Food was just blah. WAY overpriced !! Driver refused to give me my receipt for food and got the charge today on my card today… guess he decided to change his own tip amount also.

I have been going here since I was a tot. Most decent Chinese food in all of Medford. Not as busy as it used to be on holidays such as New Years Eve, but makes it way easier for those with no reservations to go on in and eat. Pretty attentive and nice staff as well. The owners are always there at the front desk and ready to seat you. Had an issue one time where someone new charged me twice on my credit card and the owner stepped right in and voided everything out with no issues. Really a great place, and it’s a been around for years so that speaks for itself. Also, great environment for kids!

We ordered chicken wings and they were under cooked. When we called them, they gave us a attitude and could have cared less. If I call the board of Health I’m sure they will start caring.

As someone who grew up with the China Tea House in Methuen before it burnt down, I’ve been missing out on a good Chinese restaurant for a long time. This is somewhere you can eat and it’s «safe» in the sense of the service is reliable, friendly and hospitable and the food is consistent. The chicken fingers, chicken teriyaki and vegetable fried rice are all very good and the restaurant gives you a free pot of tea(becoming less and less common in many Chinese places). The food comes out quickly and our waiter came back atleast 3 times to check in and make sure we had full drinks. The only issue is the price, which is rather high for a place like this and the bathrooms. As far as the price issue you’re better off getting a plate or meal combo for a reasonable price. And the bathrooms were really oddly done, a bit awkward and uncomfortable but somewhat clean. But overall, Yes it’s worth coming in if you want a Chinese fix and the décor is cute too!

If you are in a rush and craving Chinese this is the place to go – the wait time for the meals is always super impressive. I don’t think we have ever waited longer than 10 minutes. They are also able to host functions at a very affordable price. Not the best Chinese but still delicious and affordable!

If I can have Chinese food every day it will be from here #1 place ever. I work at Costco and I would take tiki island over Costco deli/Foodcourt

I remember when this place was my favorite. The chicken fingers are still solid but the prices go up while the food quality goes down. I threw out most of my last delivery.

Like stepping back in time to Polynesian of old! Since the close of our longtime favorite, South Pacific in Newton(the benchmark against which all others are judged), we have felt bereft. Walking into Tiki Island felt like coming home. It had the same feel of South Pacific and the food was amazingly similar.(So very happy!!) The restaurant was nearly full on this Saturday night at 9:15pm; there was a buzz in the dining room and a huge private party in the bar area. The service was excellent and very attentive and servers chatted up those who were clearly regulars. My son and I ordered the Pu Pu Platter. Everything was excellent. Fantastic egg rolls, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, boneless ribs. Even the duck sauce and mustard were amazingly reminiscent of our benchmark. It even had the flaming tiki fire, however, lacked the ceremonial rotating wooden serving platter(ah well, I guess we can’t have it all.) As my son and I sat and truly enjoyed this Polynesian visit to the past, we said to each other that we could not wait to come back! Thank you, Tiki Island, for keeping the(Pu Pu) flame alive!

I called and asked if they delivered to West Medford after reading several of these reviews. They said they did so I ordered $ 56 worth of food. The woman then says to me ‘we only go three miles and you live almost 4 miles from here. You come pick up food.’ So, I politely told them to cancel the order. They are out my $ 56 and any future visits and I ordered food elsewhere which offers free delivery. I was disappointed and dismayed at their attitude.

Good food friendly ppl. Prices are a bit high but we’ll worth it. Clean, traditional«American Style» Chinese food.

The food was pretty much what I was expecting; typical American Chinese. I’d like to give them a high-five for having plain lo-mein noodles on the menu. I don’t like all of the stuff that comes in lo-mein, and I’ve never been to a place that let’s you take stuff out let alone serves them plain, so that was awesome for me! I’d like to give them another high-five for having strong/cheapish drinks. The service was strange. The food came out quickly and was hot, so no complaints there. I sort of understand what someone else was saying with the«sexist» thing, though I’m not sure I would call it that. We had two girls and four boys in our group. The waiter definitely seemed more interested in what the guys wanted. I only ordered my drink before he skipped over to my other friends to take their orders. I had to shout my food order at him before he ran away. On top of that we were being monitored by the staff the whole time we were there. At one point the man stopped and stood at the end of our table and pretended like he was watching the T. V behind us. That was pretty awkward. We’re young, yes, but we are also paying customers and would like to enjoy our meals in peace!

The teriyaki and crab rangoons were good, everything else(general gau, rice, boneless ribs, egg roll and volcano) was ehh… and very pricy. Here’s a tip: don’t use the cheapest chicken you can get and it would actually be good. I would never return.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times with my boyfriend and I’ve never experienced bad service or problems with my bowels after eating the food. We’ve ordered the Hot & Sour soup, Won Ton Soup, Pu Pu Platter, Shrimp Chow Mein, Egg Foo Young(sp?) and Fried Rice. Our food has always been fresh and served piping hot. The space is a little outdated, but clean and nice enough for me. I’ve enjoyed it and would return again. Thank you!

Ughh how to describe this place… it’s like you know when you’re on a giant tour bus in another country and they take you to this terrible tour bus stop restaurant… yea, that would be the experience here. Only instead, you chose to actually drive yourself here with so many better options around you. If you love really terrible American Chinese food that might give you bowel problems later, this is your place. If you prefer something more authentic that doesn’t only serve fried pu pu platter as entrees, then try another place. Although scorpion bowls might be the only thing that makes this a worthy stop and am giving it 3 stars versus 1.

I use to love coming here. however the service is not the same. Worst Chinese food I ever had my rice was cold. The food had no seasoning at all. My waiter forgot to give me a straw. i asked 3 times never got it so I gave up and drank from the cup. Never asked if we needed anything. When it came time to pay I had to walk up and go ask for my check. Sat back down and waited another ten minutes. Prices went up and service and food went down. Do not eat here food was yuck go else where.

The furnishing is outdated, the menu needs updating and I don’t care about any of this. I grew up going here. Sometimes the food is over cooked. Sometimes it isn’t cook enough. I keep going back because it’s never BAD. Give it a try. GETTHECHICKENFINGERS!!!

SEXIST. Do not go here if you’re a woman with a man, because you will be totally ignored by the waiter. He will come over and say, «hello, sir» and then proceed to only speak to the man you are with. I really didn’t want to let some sexist jerk ruin my evening, so I said something. I said that when he says«sir» and does not address me, it’s rude. He responded with, «OK» and then kept doing it every other time he came to the table(e.g., when asking for our drink order, when asking for our food order, when asking if we were finished, etc.). It could be a language barrier, but I heard him address another table with«hello» instead of «hello, sir» so why can’t he just do that for everyone if his knowledge of English is limited? If that’s the case, then I imagine that management told him what to say, which makes them sexist as well. And, no, I am not over-reacting. What if I were one race and my dinner companion were another race, and they only addressed him and ignored me? Would that be OK? Furthermore, this exact same thing happened over a year ago with a different waiter.

While the atmosphere is nice and standard of a typical Chinese sit down restaurant, you know, dark lighting, large booths, mirrored walls — the food wasn’t all that great. I ordered the chicken and broccoli which is my usual dish whenever having Chinese. I heard good things about this place so my expectations were relatively high. The food came very fast. It couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes. The broccoli part of the dish was delicious. It was hot and fresh and came in a brown sauce. This was the highlight next to the side of white rice I got. The chicken, not so much. It just wasn’t unique at all. It was the standard Chinese food chicken from a supplier — stands pounded thin, somewhat rubbery tasting. My chicken wasn’t as hot as the broccoli and almost seemed like it was sitting out for a while in a pan. My boyfriend got some sort of combination platter of fried food and lo mean which he said was good. I tried a chicken finger from the plate and just found it greasy and too doughy. Would I go back? Yes, but I will probably try something else on the menu.

I remember going to this place as a kid. Either I’ve got selective amnesia, or this place has seriously gone downhill. Went there for a casual family thing this afternoon and got the General Gau’s Chicken. It seemed a good bet — I quite like the dish and it’s pretty regular fare at chinese food joints like this. What I got on the other hand was really nothing more than hunks of barely cleaned thigh meat, deep fried and tossed in duck sauce. It was a thin sauce, WAY too sweet with no spice whatsoever. So disappointing — and I know that this isn’t health food or anything, but I swear there was so much MSG or whatever I felt like I ate lead bricks. Even five hours later I’m starving but can’t even contemplate eating anything or I’m going to be ill… The service was just as bad — the waitress was curt and seemed to care more about the soccer game on TV than what was going on with us. She pretty much dropped off the food and then we didn’t see her again until it was time to bring the bill around. Such a disappointment!

My office decided to have Chinese food for our holiday party and so we had catering from Tiki Island. Of course judging from my rating, you so know I won’t be praising this place. What were the chefs thinking when they made the chicken wings here? The meat and skin was dried up, and I couldn’t even tear it apart with my fork. I gave up after three bites of trying to break into the meat. Just. No. Hop into Chinatown if you want fried chicken wings and you get them crunchy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Seriously. Same story with the chicken skewers. Too dry. I might as well had been eating the stick. There was also fried rice, lo mein, white rice, chicken fingers, crab rangoons and barbecued pork. The only things I could actually stomach was white rice and crab rangoons. Everything else was just bland and forgettable. It ended up being a terrible«Chinese» luncheon, and I hate to say it as a person of Chinese descent, but it was the truth.
