New owners, again! Still friendly, food still good… everything I said before, still basically applies… and they still got live fish which is important to me.

I hate to disagree with everyone, and I feel somewhat conflicted about posting this because the folks at Wonder Taste seemed very nice, but man, our food was not good at all. First off, it was very greasy. My wife ordered chicken satay udon noodles and I ordered the three delight. The flavors of both dishes were either bland(in the case of my dish) or just plain greasy(hers). We also ordered Peking ravs which were not horrible but not great either(again quite greasy, they were fried, so some is expected, but they just weren’t *tasty*). There were a couple of high points, the teryaki tasted decent, and the yu shiang egg plant was not as greasy as the rest, was cooked nicely, and had some nice flavors. We won’t be going back.

I have grabbed take out here several times. The food is always ready to pick up when they say it will be and I have yet to be dissappointed. The General Gau’s Tofu was very good, as was the pork lomein, though it could use a bit more vegetables in it. The shrimp fried rice was my favorite thing I’ve had there. The wonton soup is good too. I look forward to trying more things on their menu. I imagine parking might be a bit challenging as it’s right on High St. in the midst of traffic, but since I walk there it’s not an issue.

After overhearing the girls at the nail salon speak highly of this place I thought ‘d check it out. Here’s what we ordered: Schezuan Spicy Shrimp(one size, large) Yu Hsiang Chicken(small) Spicy Schezuan String Bean(small) Chicken Fried Rice(large) Beef Teriyaki(large) The bill came to $ 43 The shrimp and chicken entrees were quite good, but I think I will ask for them to be made more spicy next time. The were just on the verge of being very good, but something was missing. I am huge fan of beef teriyaki and unfortunately, the beef was very dry and didn’t have much teriyaki flavor. I enjoyed the spicy string bean quite a bit, but would also ask for a little more spice next time. What can I say, I like it a little more on the spicier side :) Overall, the flavors were good, but nothing stood out. I will definitely go back here due to convenience and the good quality of the food. I really liked how the Yu Hsiang chicken was made with white mean, not that nasty brown meat that is questionable in many Chinese food restaurants. If they can get the beef teriyaki on the right track then I would be happy to give this place 4 stars. Check it out. It’s more like Chinatown Chinese food than suburb Chinese food. Also, the owner took my order and rang us up. He was very friendly. I always appreciate an owner who appreciates the business :)

Great to find authentic Chinese food in Medford square. The family and I went here for a quick lunch last weekend. Instead of going into Chinatown and dealing with the terrible parking situation, my dad suggested this place. Sure enough, I got a parking spot right in front. We did it family style: Beef Chow Fun Veggie Yee Mein Beef and Vermicellii Conch and Fried Tofu The two beef dishes were great. The beef really stood out. Great flavor and super tender. I know I will be back for the Beef Chow Fun.

My family loves coming here for get-togethers because we can avoid the crappy Chinatown parking situation. The food is good, and if you cannot find what you want on the menu, they will do their best to make it, or substitute it with something close. Service is good too. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful when you have questions, and they do not mind answering them. One time, we ordered for delivery, and they forgot one of our items. We called, and they apologized and immediately sent it over. Some of our favorites include the yee mein, bitter melon and scrambled eggs, fried calamari and the fried milk(one of my favorite desserts).

Yummy noodle dishes, huge portions. Highlights of the Sunday lunch(and highly recommended) were: –Lobster yee mein –Satay udon noodles –Salt & pepper spicy fried pork Restaurant isn’t all that creative or fancy in décor– just a couple rooms with some family-style round tables with the spinny thing in the middle so you can all reach the food! This place is located right off 95 at the Medford Sq exit so it’s easy to miss if you didn’t know it was there. Much more convenient than trekking all the way down to Chinatown. Bonus– Modern Pastry is a couple doors down and a good place to grab dessert.

Wonder Taste, When you named your restaurant I’m certain the name came to you naturally because your dishes taste so wonderful! I love Chinese food and can appreciate both American-Chinese AND authentic Chinese dishes. I don’t see a reason why I have to choose one or the other. Chicken fingers, pork fried rice or steamed ginger scallion fish and garlic stir-fried pea pod stems, I love them all. Wonder Taste caters to both palates and let me tell you, they don’t disappoint, especially with their authentic dishes. They have a lot of dishes you’d find in Chinatown-even seafood like lobster, crab, and even my favorite, conch with yellow chives. Best of all? I had only hoped and dreamt, in my wildest dream, s to have authentic Chinese food DELIVERED to my front doorsteps. Wonder Taste, you made my dreams come true. Here’s a tip I learned the other day: Order 2 entrees at full price and get lobster w/ginger & scallion for $ 9.99. Normally it’s somewhere around $ 18 or market price.

Oysters four times the size you’re used to for $ 3. They’re cooked, but you’ll get over it. I am usually not a fan of Chinese restaurants because I get enough Chinese food at home– but this place is friggin’ delicious! Every traditional dish you order– fried calamari or sweet and sour pork(on bone is best) delivers the best here. If you’re going for newer types of Chinese food, you’ll be even happier. Wonder Taste Duck Tongue and Shrimp with Crispy Walnut(really mayonnaise-y) are something you should try. A lot of the times, I see the owners or chefs take a seat with a customer that is sitting by themselves and it warms my heart :) Ask them for recommendations and they will not disappoint. PLUS it’s next to Modern Pastry. Just make sure you go early for dinner so you can get dessert before the pastry shop closes at 7. If you end up eating dinner at normal-people-time, end it with the dish«Fried Milk» or something like that. It’s this tasty plate of fried goodness that you dip in condensed milk. Okay?! Enjoy!

This place in Medford Square has a stupid name, yeah I said it. Luckily for it, the food is pretty decent! The variety of food you can get only depends on how adventurous you are feeling. The menu ranges from the Americanized General Gao’s to the authentic clay pot glass noodles to the out-there duck tongue. I was here with my family. The under-30 «kids» shared a table while our parents were at an adjacent table. We were seated at the two big tables under a big mural. Wonder Taste appears tiny from the outside, but the fact that it wraps around and utilizes the space next door makes it bigger than it looks. We ordered a six-course meal and started with a soup. The meal also included walnut mayo shrimp(one of my favorites), steamed scallop loaded with garlic(see picture), salt and pepper fried pork chops, and clay pot glass noodles among others. Everything turned out perfectly seasoned and balanced, very well done. There was one issue I had with Wonder Taste during my visit. There were things floating in the ice water all night. Our table sent back four glasses total(two of them were mine) and the other table sent back one. I just ended up getting a soda to drink instead. I think this is one of the better traditional Chinese restaurants outside of Chinatown but don’t say I didn’t warn you about the water.

Ya so i went here cuz we were looking for Phở Yan and were too lazy to go somewhere else(it was rush hour traffic) So first impression. Wonder taste? ya engrish not so good… First interesting thing to note was they have some very interesting menu items: Mongolian beef(well not interesting but I haven’t seen too much of this in the area) Frog with lotus, or lilly, Duck tongues in a variety of ways, duck paws, Conch!(which i am most excited to try now that i know their food isn’t caca) They say their specialty is seafood, and they definitely have an expansive selection of not just fish. So before we got experimental we cop’d out and got the most American selection of dishes. General Gau’s, crab rangoon, and hot and sour soup. It was pretty good. The GG was lightly breaded and guess what YOUCOULDACTUALLYTASTECHICKEN! so that was cool. Hot and sour soup was sour and sesame oil soup. But it was chok full of tofu mushrooms and stuff. Crab Rangoons pretty good as well, had an interesting butter flavor to the cream cheese. My favorite thing about the GG was that the broccoli was crunch and lightly seasoned, and not just plain old over steamed rubbery green florets. I could’ve ate the broccoli by itself and been happy. Total cost for 2 people + 2 sodas = $ 24 They were a little chintzy on the sauces, no hot oil on the table and only a little tiny dish of duck sauce for my goonies… Another thing to note, is aside from lunch specials all the dishes are served Family style so its about $ 10/plate. No happy single serving rice plate for the round eye. soz… Talking to the dude(waiter/owner’s friend) i found out the chef is from China town with 18+ years experience, so that’s usually a good sign. We’ll be back and try more adventurous stuffs later/

Revisited today for lunch with a friend who is visiting from Beijing. He never would survive eating American Chinese food. Everything I wrote before holds up. The food specials are excellent Cantonese dishes. Wonder Taste chicken deserves the name. It is wonderful and consistent with the previous tasting. I don’t like asparagus and they changed the scallop dish according to my request and made it with Chinese broccoli, which was an excellent match. The service also was better than the first time. So the 4.49 stars are for the Cantonese food quality. Any deductions are for lack of ambience and for not being a Sichuan restaurant(I still prefer super spicy numbing Sichuan flavor — when the food is fresh). Wonder Taste is not a fancy place for a date, but pure and simple, fresh quality Cantonese food.
