The last time I ate at a Bob Evans I really wasn’t impressed — not with the food or the service. It’s frankly been years since I’ve been to one and today as fate would have it we went(our adult daughter wanted to have her birthday dinner there, of all places.) Well, I have to say, it was an eye-opening surprise. Right from the moment I entered I had flashbacks to the last time I had eaten at a Bob Evans. Although light and airy, the ambiance is that of a senior’s breakfast — I don’t know how else to explain it. But from the moment we walked in, I could also sense things were different. The door staff was friendly and helpful, our waitress was chatty(like I like ‘em) and super efficient, and though the food selection was nothing that overly impressed me, the food preparation, presentation and quality was honestly superb. We were there with a party of eight and not a single person walked away disappointed. From my wife’s burger, to my salmon, to our daughter’s open face turkey sandwich, to the in-laws roast beef — everything was prepared deliciously. The waitress deserves kudos for her handling of our never ending requests and she kept cheerful and bubbly the whole time. She was young, but extremely experience — good job to her. When we asked for a lighter to light the candles on the cake we brought with us, not only did she hunt down a lighter we forgot to bring, but she even brought out extra, clean plates for us — again, a veteran move. If this is how it is in Bob Evan’s nowadays I think I may need to come back in more often.

This was my first time at a Bob Evans. I didn’t expect much from the outside, but was actually pleasantly surprised once inside. I expected it to mirror a Denny’s but it’s a few steps above in quality & décor which was nice. The interior was nicely decorated & kept clean. Our server was friendly & attentive. The food was decent, but not amazing. Their standout was the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy. The biscuits were soft & warm, & the sauce didn’t require any additional pepper(a shortcoming a lot of B&G sauces have) Overall, it’s a nice little breakfast spot & it’s a few steps over Denny’s in quality. Would I eat here again? Yea, I’d give it another try.

I haven’t been to Bob Evans in a very long time, but my family and I felt like breakfast food for dinner, so we figured we would give them a try. The restaurant is very clean, and spacious. We were seated quickly, as there were not many people there(6pm). Our server was very friendly, as was every other employee that we encountered. My husband and daughter were pleased that our food came quickly. Our food left much to be desired. All three of us ordered breakfast food. My biggest complaint is that my scrambled eggs were way too overcooked, to the point that there were brown patches on them. I couldn’t even finish them. How hard is it to mess up scrambled eggs? The ham that I ordered was very good. The breakfast potatoes were nothing special. My husband was disappointed in his pancakes as they were dry and lacked flavor, even after drowning them in syrup. He ordered his eggs over easy, and they were also overcooked. He did, however, enjoy his bacon, and says that it was cooked perfectly. The little piggy pancakes that my daughter ordered were super cute, and she ate them up. As my husband would say, «there is a hole in my breakfast soul» after leaving Bob Evans.

I have been to this Bob Evans several times and the majority of those times I sat in Crystal’s section and I will never want to sit in anyone else’s section ever again! Not only is she the best server there she makes you feel at home and is very personable. IFYOUAREGOINGTOGOTOTHISBOBEVANS, GOON A TUES, WEDORFRIANDASKTOSITINCRYSTAL“S SECTION, YOUWON’T BEDISAPPOINTED. After waiting a while for a server to realize we were sitting there, I FINALLY got to tell her my order. As someone on a low carb diet, I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese. Or should I say, scrambled cheese with eggs, as they made it. My sausage patties were delicious, though. When giving them my order, I was asked THREE times if I was sure about not having bread. I was told I should get banana bread, a biscuit, toast, or fresh fruit. I would prefer a restaurant to respect my choices and not bribe me into anything other than I have insisted on. My water sat empty for my entire meal and even when I asked for water it took a while to get it to my table. All in all, I thought the food was good, and the service below average.

Husband LOVES taking me here for breakfast because even at 8:00 in the morning he can get a salad(he is not a breakfast good person). The Country Morning Biscuit is amazing for the price. Food is fresh and tasty.

I can’t figure this place out. I think it’s poor company organizational procedures and processes. I think there is a problem in the kitchen as well. Managers and servers seem nice and work hard but nothing ever goes right when we go here. We went last Sunday for breakfast at lunchtime. We waited 5 to 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. This happened the last time we were here. I don’t know if we came during a shift change or the servers don’t know their tables. After coffee was brought I needed regular sugar and went to the front to get it because I would have waited another 5 – 10 minutes for the server to come back. My wife had an omelet and had to wait another 5 minutes for her side of hash browns, why can’t they bring it out at the same time? When the hash browns were brought out they were mushy. I had a breakfast with french toast. The french toast was very bland. How can you mess up french toast? Cracker Barrel french toast is much better. The orange juice was very watery. We were here on another occasion months ago and I had the turkey dinner which is very good. When we went to pay there was a manager checking someone out then she told us to go to the other side of the counter to pay. I ended up reaching over the counter to the other manger who was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Overall, I can’t figure out the origin of the disorganization so I can’t recommend this place. They are nice, but they are«The Gang That Can’t Shoot Straight.»

Yet another adventure for the Reluctant All American Breakfast Queen in the world of American morning comfort food. So driving up and down the 95 in Florida my BF saw tons of Waffle Houses, Cracker Barrels and Bob Evans… I would point them out jokingly and he would get happy and I would say«ewwww»… Well, I love the guy so I kind of wasn’t joking when I would point them out so he could see them since I wanted him to try one of them. All he would do is talk about Waffle House(WH) and Cracker Barrel(CB), ugh. We didn’t try any of them on the way up to St. Augustine from Miami, but on the way back we sure did try one of them and that was Bob Evans(which I affectionately called Ethan Allen haha cause the name is so lame — I mean it’s just some guys name — can you get any less creative?). So my BF actually knew little about Bob Evans before our trip and had been leaning on WF and CB till his good buddy Louis told him that his best bet was Bob Evans. According to Louis, Bob Evans had more quality than the other two. Supposedly the other two restaurants tend to be run down, etc. Inside Bob Evans reminded me of a Carrow’s type of restaurant. You know, more classy than a Denny’s or Norm’s but still just a diner. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits and it was not the best I have had. The biscuits were highly recommended to us and even my BF felt they were not that great. I actually did have high expectations since Louis recommended this chain. The gravy looks pretty gross(it’s a big wad of brownish jelly like gravy with little chunks of sausage — not the runny type) but it tastes OK. The signature sausages are great but not out of this world as I fully expected. They serve good hash browns. The lady that attended us offered great service. Florida is weird — tons of places have no paper toilet seat covers — and I’m not talking about run down places either. Worst of all, it was not just that they ran out — no — they actually had no dispenser in the bathroom. Ugh! If you come here don’t be worried cause there is plenty of parking.

I know it’s just another Bob Evans, but we were visiting my dad in Florida and he LOVES breakfast at all times of the day. He really, really wanted waffles so we indulged and got some. I really liked this location because it was close to everything in Melbourne and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Seated right away, quick service and dependable food. Hey, it’s a Bob Evans… what do you really expect? The menu is large and they serve everything all day in case you want breakfast at 7 p.m. or dinner at 7 a.m. The staff was friendly and the manager was around for awhile helping the servers during a rush period. I like that kind of management. Things seem to move slowly in this part of the country, but not in a way that is annoying. Everyone took their time, but they were friendly and just wanted the customers to be happy. They worked with my dad to get his waffles just the way he wanted with toppings and all and they listened to the rest of us talk through the menu until we figured out what we wanted to order. Annoying, sure, but they seemed just fine. I have a feeling this place is super busy after Sunday morning church services, so get in early or late to beat the crowds. No one seems to be around on a Tuesday early afternoon, though, so you’ll be fine.
