This is a very interesting new restaurant located on Hibiscus near Evans. They have a menu wilhich mostly consists of apps, burgers, sanwiches, and some entrees. I wanted a bloody mary and I was told the make their own mix. After receiving it I was not impressed at all. One of the worst I have ever had. I ordered the empanada and cuban bowl. The empanada looked great, crispy, and very tasty. The cuban bowl was a nice mix of mojo pork, rice, beans, and pineapple. Very tasty. I did have a chance to sample their signature cocktail. The painkiller was tasty and if you like tropical tiki bar styke drinks. This is right uo your alley.

I will admit that I have only eaten here once. I was looking forward to it as my office has been in the same complex for years and I welcomed a new restaurant. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, medium. What I received was tantamount to a «Bubba Burger» well done and tasteless… and expensive. It may have been that they had recently opened but what chef(cook?) doesn’t know how to cook a burger? I’ll give them another try but it will NOT be for lunch! Too costly!

My experience was ruined when I was later talking about my day with another local. He asked«Did you tip?» Well of course I tipped! «Then they got you too because they put 16% gratuity on every check» The bartender never mentioned this. The menu didn’t mention automatic gratuity. Supposedly it is written on the bottom of the check. So for my check for 2 ppl the bill was $ 42 and on top of that the bartender walked away with a tip of $ 17. Nothing like a $ 60 lunch with a side of deception. We shared the Ribs, Cuban sandwich, and the red conch cowder. The ribs and sandwich were very tasty, but the conch chowder was a miss. When I talked about the chowder with the bartender he said to «load it up with salt and pepper». The only other soup option is black bean soup. I am not sure if I will ever return here because I know I am not the first to have felt taken for a ride concerning their tipping practices and yet it continues. If Hemmingways is shady here, then it probably carries over into their other business practices. I don’t support greed.

Really good stuff! Great service and the food was good. Felt a little pricey for what we ended up with but we’ll definitely be going back. Total Key West vibe but the seafood beats out a lot of other local seafood restaurants. Definitely worth stopping by before or after a movie

Very impressed! I got the pork tacos and they were delicious! The fries were great as well. My husband got a Cuban and black bean soup and he loved it. Great service as well. Will definitely be back!

Dined here on an unusually cool Friday evening, so we opted to sit outside. Hostess was pleasant and we were able to wait for our table(about 15 minutes, far less time than we were quoted) in the car because there wasn’t much available wait seating available and were notified by text when our table was ready. Going off of other Unilocal reviews, we started with the empanadas which were fresh and well seasoned. Cuban sandwich lived up to the hype: flavorful and crunchy, and came with a side of French Onion soup which was just average. Little Havana burger was packed with flavor and well cooked. Truffle fries were tasty. I had the crab cake which was obviously made fresh from scratch and the watermelon salsa took this cake from good to excellent! Kids meal of Mac and cheese was made from scratch and super yummy. The side of fruit was large, fresh and had a great variety of fruit cut in perfect kid sizes. Sangria was fantastic! It took a while to get our food on a Friday night, so be prepared to wait, but it was definitely worth it! We will be back!

This a new cool place to go eat at. A nice Key West feel with Cuban inspired dishes. The Cuban sandwich was very flavorful– pulled pork. The black beans were also very tasty. The atmosphere allows you to slip into the Key West style retreat with tvs displaying live streams from all around Key West. It’s a fun touch while you’re sitting there. I’d definitely recommend and I will be returning.

Came here with family, 5 of us. We sat outside. We ordered drinks first. The bushwacker, Stella on draft, and the peace Palmer were good. We did not care for the daquiri. It had way too much ice in it. When the waiter showed up again we put in our whole order, appetizers and meals. A different waiter brought 2 meals out first. Appetizers weren’t brought out until after we reminded the waiter we had ordered them. We also asked where the other 3 meals were. A different waiter brought out 2 of the 3 appetizers and one meal. Then once again we asked how long until the last 2 meals and other appetizer were. Our other two meals weren’t even put in yet. We had to reorder them. By this point, everybody else was done eating besides 2 of us. Finally after 20 more minutes of waiting our last two meals came out. The burger was ordered well done, twice. It came out leaking blood. The ribs came out cold. The only good thing that came out of this experience was that the manager comped our entire meal and gave us free movie passes. We won’t be back

First time there. Was seated in a timely manner. Greeted by a friendly waitress, Julie. Our party tried a variety of items. Burgers, Wings and of course The Cuban. which is their signature dish. All were cooked to perfection, as ordered. The food is fresh and very creative. Only drawback is the limited menu, but still definitely worth it.

Great food! A little under seasoned, but good. I agree with others that the martinis are under filled. Took 5 minutes to be waited on. We had to flag down the manager. A shame b/c we love Meg o Malleys. But, we will give them another shot due to the food quality!

So the atmosphere is nice… Hostesses were friendly enough but the bartender(Sierra) was god awful. She was very short from the beginning. We asked about the happy hour which per the signs said it it started at 3. She quickly said it wasn’t on the weekends and when we mentioned we were here last weekend for lunch and they said it was from 3 – 6. She sharply said she was here last weekend as if we were lying. Then she made our martinis and cut us short. More on mine and when we mentioned something she said she said try are just big glasses. Conch fritters had a good flavor but barely any conch. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here, especially with bartenders like that.

Came here for the Star Wars after party for the buffet and it was so disorganized. It took 40 minutes to get food in a buffet setting. None of the staff knew what was going on. And food was very slow to be replenished. Poor reflection of the restaurant and not sure I would come back here to try eating again.

I had the crabs on the dock. DELISH! Watermelon salad sounded so weird to me but it was the best part of the dish(next to the crab cakes, of course). My hubby had half Cuban and conch chowder. ENERGETIC! Love the atmosphere. Sangria is amazing! And for desert we had the plantain bread pudding. Let’s just say it was gone very quickly. Not sure Hemingway would have come here to do any writing, but he would definitely be here on a break. Thanks for bringing the Keys a little north to Brevard!

Absolutely incredible! Excellent food and drinks, wonderful service and décor. Ask for the«50 cent tour», and check out the bottoms of the insides of the restroom doors. It will make you chuckle. ;-) A great tribute to Hemingway, with lots of attention to quality and detail.

When I saw that a new Cuban restaurant opened up, I had to try it. My husband and I went for lunch yesterday, and I was very impressed. When I arrived, they advised that there would be a wait for indoor seating, or we could sit outdoors immediately. We chose to sit outdoors on their beautiful patio. Our server was very attentive, fast, and friendly. I ordered the pork tavern tacos($ 9), which were amazing. My only complaint is the serving size. They were so good, that I could have eaten another taco. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich($ 9), which he also enjoyed. The empanadas($ 8) were pretty good as well. They had a bbq sauce on them which was different. When my husband first got his sandwich, he realized that they forgot to put the pork on it. No big deal, they just opened and mistakes happen. We told the server, and she was very apologetic. We figured they would just throw on some pork, and send the sandwich back out, but the server came out with a brand new sandwich in about five minutes or less. We were shocked. Overall it was a great experience, and we look forward to going back.

The food was delicious. The mojo pork was juicy and tender, well spiced, and the bread was perfectly crisp, not greasy. The pork empanadas were the same well seasoned pork with a BBQ sauce that was tasty, but was a little too much. The caprese salad with microgreens was refreshing and light. I definitely recommend going. They have plenty of outdoor seating, the décor is simple and clean. Service was a bit slow, but then again, can a server move fast enough when you have 2 kids, you’re sitting outside in 90° Florida humidity, and have an appointment you have to get to after lunch? All in all, go. Best Cuban sandwich in town.

This place is associated with the owners of Meg O’Malleys and Long Doggers. It is an excellent addition of a Key West pub. The atmosphere and food are memorable. Located adjacent to the Oaks Cinema it is well staffed and has both indoor and outdoor dining. The food is authentic Key West fare and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. We both had the signature Cuban Sandwich which is actually large enough to share. They offer a half order which is more than enough for me. I can’t wait to try it again.
