– Disclaimer — I’ve never eaten the food here.
However — I will say the bar is one of the best in town. Here’s why:
* Drink Quality — I’ve been visiting this bar since my 21^st birthday, I always go here when my friends from highschool or college are back in town and we have ALWAYS had superior drinks — fresh squeezed Long Islands, an Orange Crush or even a vodka redbull — drinks always come out perfectly.
* Zones — there’s three or four bars here, the downstairs bar is usually quiet, the outside bar is usually moderate, and the upstairs bar is usually raging. You can pick your environment.
* Bar Service — even on a Friday or Saturday night when the whole place is slammed, you can still get a well made drink with relative ease. Bartenders are fast and efficient and aren’t rude like other places in downtown. The professionalism (albeit sometimes scantily clad) really completes the experience.
I plan on being a customer of Mainstreet for as long as they continue to do the things that they’ve always done REALLY well.

Mainstreet Pub is a great example of reliable food in Melbourne. The menu rarely changes (save for specials) and the quality is always high. My grandpa loves this place, which means it has to be worth visiting because he’s got some pretty good taste and pretty good friends. Sandwiches are always yummy here and worth ordering, especially with a side of soup.
The outdoor area in the back is awesome for nightly happy hour specials and mingling. The bar in the back is really great for get-​togethers with friends and there’s always fun times and music happening. I hear they even have trivia one night a week, so stop in for some crazy team fun.
I come here at least once every visit to Melbourne and I’ll keep stopping in as long as I keep visiting.

Bartender was friendly. Drinks were good and made with fresh squeezed juice. The outside part in the back was nice.

Cool atmosphere, nice bartender, and good price. The fresh squeezed whiskey sour was the best I’ve ever had. In addition to the main cocktail area there is a front patio, a tiki bar in the back, and a rooftop area. The Halloween decorations added to the ambiance.

Great staff! — Inexpensive and accommodating for cigar smokers. Great place for an evening drink or lunch.

I’ve been to alot of places all over the united states… this is more of a local only kind of place. Bartender is nice enough… good variety of beer and liquor. Draw back i guess one of the bartenders and bouncer/​manager is dating or something so i guess they thought it was appropriate to take about how much the bartender got tipped next to me on each bill… im from a customer service industry myself and you don’t do that… its ok nothing special about this place… just average…

Mainstreet offers three unique bar experience that adjoins in one convivial atmosphere. For a intimate experience with others or just your potable, checkout the Whiskey Bar. If you are feeling laid-​back, enjoy the warm Florida weather in the Tiki Bar. To dance the night away or over look the strip, the Lava Bar is for you.

First of all… I absolutely LOVE the staff here and the service is impeccable. The staff really work hard to satisfy their customers! My Asian bartender was the sexiest man I’ve ever encountered in my life. The drinks I ordered were on point and the bar manager (matt) was super cool and treated the patrons like they were his friends. Awesome environment! If anyone has anything negative to say about this place… they’re probably not of sound mind. I can’t wait to make this my go-​to place for my weekends. Much love main street. Keep up the good work! I have only been here twice but my impression of the place is good so far. The drinks are okhay, albeit a little on the sweeter side. I would suggest the bartenders esp out at the tiki bar to be a bit more generous with liquor in the drinks. Other than that they have a live musician outside in the tiki bar sometimes. Last month they had a female artist outside and she was fabulous and lot up the environment a lot. I like how they generously place free munchies in the outside area on Fridays. My company does their monthly social here and it is always fun.

I came in on Thursday which happens to be ladies night… But the bartender didn’t mention that it was ladies night until after I’d ordered a drink… So when I asked them if I could transfer my bud light to a pitcher he said no because I had already ordered but on my next round I could … Kinda douche’ if you ask me … One beer was $ 3.25 where as a pitcher was about 7.50

I would give zero stars if I could. I came in and ordered a water prior to ordering a drink and was rudely told to «move out of my way» while standing at the bar. I then proceeded to speak with the manager who acted as though my service complaint was ridiculous. Never go here. The unacceptable experience and service prompted my first ever Unilocal review.

My husband and I are regulars for lunch, and the food is great– not to mention the service! It is a really cool little bar inside, and has a nice size patio out front and upstairs. Must try the Kummelwick sandwich or my husband’s favorite, the Turkey Bacon sandwich!

All of the drinks that have citrus are fresh squeezed. Which makes sense in Florida, but isn’t common and is great. Staff are also very nice and reasonably priced.

If you’re in the area it’s worth checking out, but I wouldn’t recommend planning a night around just this place. Super narrow hallways. Parking essentially only available a couple blocks away. Prices seem to reflect the touristy area, but not the atmosphere. There’s different areas to check out once you’re inside. The highlight was standing on the balcony watching constant fights erupt near the entrance below us.
My advice — check out «The Mansion» instead.

Went here for lunch during the week. The sandwiches were good and for a good price. If dt would enjoy this nice outdoor searing gain.

Let me start by saying that Mainstreet Pub, has been and probably will be for a while, a high school «reunion» bar and I will probably end up stopping by again next time I’m in town. However, with that said, I wanted to point out two small issues I had while visiting last month.
1. Over the course of the night I ordered an Old Fashioned from each of the three bars. Unfortunately, only the ground floor front bar made a true Old Fashioned, in my opinion. The other two were distinctively ill-​prepared and inconsistent to one another. Now I know three bars means three separate bartenders but I feel there should be some consistency in standards (ingredients, portion/​glassware and price).
2. I can understand the restless crowd your business must deal with, but please do realize that not all your patrons are a drunken mess when you start closing. It was very uncomfortable for me and my two friends to be herded out the door like cattle.

I’ve been here 4 times this year and each time it’s been awesome! I always start with an Orange Crush because it’s the right thing to do! Always ALWAYS try the house drinks wherever you go! The inside isn’t very big but the outdoor patio is huge. There’s a bar inside as well as one outside. There are live musicians, DJ’s and we went one time for some dance thing that was going on upstairs.
It CAN get really crowded really fast on a Friday or Saturday night… but what do you expect in the heart of Downtown Melbourne? I love it! To me, if it’s crowded it MUST be amazing! And it really is. Mainstreet has its own air about the place. you really have to experience it for yourself. Food is really good here! But the orange crush!!! They have a winning recipe here!

At least it was outside & all the nicotine smoke didn’t stay confined indoors for me to inhale.

Thank you for writing a review on us. I hope you had a great time on your trip to Melbourne as this is a pretty cool beach town. :) I want to assure you that there is no smoking allowed indoors so after reading your review I alerted my staff to keep an extra eye out for anyone trying to sneak a cigg inside because I completely agree that is unacceptable. It only takes one to make the whole place smell and as someone with a sensitive nose I understand how important it is to breath fresh air. Were you able to try our fresh squeezed Orange Crush? Next time you’re in town ask for a manager and tell them Lena approved a free drink on Unilocal. Hopefully we can make your next experience a lot more positive. :) Again, thank you for bringing this to my attention and I hope to see you in soon.

The happy hour crowd is good, but at night the place can get too packed with people, especially on the 2^nd floor. The balcony is a really good spot to get away from the crowds, if you can get a table. The problem is the type of crowd. Mostly tools, d-​bags, and college students. For the most part, everyone there is trying to be hip, and trying too hard. Come to think of it, most are some variation of the hipster species. I think people need to realize that Pabst is a crappy beer that most of our dads and their friends drank because they were too damn poor to drink anything better. Stupid hipsters, you can’t pay rent with «irony bucks».
The food is decent, but this is a bar, so don’t expect anything amazing. But again, this is the Melbourne bar scene… which tries too hard to be like the bar scene of other places.
