Las Quecas

Work often brings me by the Melrose Park location and I eat there whenever I’m around at lunchtime. The tortillas are so deliciously fresh and tasty I wish I could eat two. Forget it though, they’re too big. I like the whole wheat tortillas with mushrooms and onions on mine but I’m willing to try the chicarones next time. The people are so nice and yeah, the salsas are made with fresh vegetables and very rich in authentic flavors.

The tortas were really good, as well as the restaurant’s main dish, the quesadillas. The flan was exceptionally tasty, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know.

I have been there twice. It is not very sanitary. Please up your hygiene standards. Also, they have raised the price.

Buenas quecas… pero hay que servisio tan mas feo. la que me tomo la orden y me cobro tan mas sangrona… se veia que odiava estar ahi. una señora delgada, guera, cabello «rubio». si no fuera por eya. Si regresaria. porque si né gusto la comida…

Food is good but lack variety. Customer service is not the best and the wait is a bit long. They need more tables and space. They are advertised online as open until 10pm. But the cashier said they closed at 9pm.

Good service, doña Rosa was very kind and welcoming. the food was delicious and they have the best café de Hoya. I will definitely be coming back.

Good food. Very good food. Big portion at reasonable price. Ordered steak burrito and tortada. Fresh and tasty. They have a salsa bar which you can take the salsa you like. Definitely will come back.

Amazing restaurant! Great customer service, and amazing food. I love how clean and fast their food is. The lady making the tortillas was really polite and generous. They also took the time to tell us about each of their hot sauces, and their specialties. Highly recommend this place. Definitely will be back.

One word! Delicious!!! Actually two, delicious and amazing! Their quesadilla’s rock as well as their sauces which I might add are bursting with flavor and goodness. Their red sauce is very hot but so good! The quesadilla’s are huge and for a great price. The ladies in there were so nice and they were funny too. I went to put a lot of red sauce on mine not knowing theirs was super spicy and one of the ladies ran over to warn me and said its very spicy which I thought was nice of her. The place is clean inside. Service great. Definitely coming back with my girlfriend.

What a great experience. Was there last night with a big group we all order different quesadillas and we loved all of them! The service was fast and the staff super friendly. We will definitely be back.

Pretty good, pretty cheap food… and there really is More Meat! My quesadilla was delicious! I was disappointed they didn’t have atole when I went.

La verdad una mala experiences. Las «quecas» no tubieron ningún sabor especial o único que me hagan regresar. Fue totalmente una descripción para mi amiga y para mi ya que nos encanta La Catedral. El servicio fatal, las muchachas bien cortantes, como con caras de que están trabajando a fuerzas. Las rajas con queso desabridas y el pollo desherbado horrible, sin sabor de nada. Me esperaba lo opuesto, tal vez le de una 2da oportunidad pero no se antojan.

Very clean and neat appearance. The food very blah, nothing to be excited about. Would not go back even though I have a Major crush on the co owner Angelica Atondo. Expected so much more left highly disappointed.

Relatively new, and relatively awesome. Freshly-​made quesadillas at a basement bargain price, and the greatest salsa cart in the history of EVER.
The menu is pretty much limited to cheese-​filled corn tortillas and what you can stuff inside them. They’ve got horchata and some other small side items, but the ‘dillas reign supreme. Get the chicken, get the beef, get the steak, get them all! Speaking of ‘supreme’, their salsa cart is the tits. They feature no less than 5 hot sauces, all in varying degrees of heat, although most are very intense. Shredded lettuce, sour cream in a squirt bottle, diced tomatoes, and (hot) pickled onions are included as well. Here’s their salsa picante list, according to my experience with each of them in turn (R-​L):
Green/​red — peppery, decent lingering heat — ²⁄₅
Green — deceivingly hot (misleading color), good flavor — ³⁄₅
Orange — very hot, smoky aftertaste, difficult to handle without ice water — ⁴⁄₅
Red — people put this on food? it should be used strictly for self defense purposes only! instantaneous, excruciating heat — ⁵⁄₅
Basically, Las Quecas is awesome. They’ve got everything that I’d ask for, and then some. Will certainly return!
Protip: put out the flames from the salsas by ordering a flan or chocoflan for dessert!

Decent enough little strip malllace serving quesedellas. Prices are fair and food is pretty good although I didn’t see anyone else there the time I went despite it being on a busy street. It took a while for the food to come as well and service should be quicker for take out.

Had a poblano quesadilla and it was awesome! Love the homemade tortillas and the prices are great. My friends had the chicken and lived that as well, I am a vegetarian so it worked for all of us.

Very good and large quesadillas with a broad selection for you to choose a filling from They hand make the tortillas fresh right in front of you. I ordered the chicken tinga and then added some hot sauce from the selection they have. Excellent café de olla as well. Service was friendly and fast. I will definitely be back.

Ever since we found out about this little gem in Melrose Park, we cant get enough of their quesadillas. which is not necessarily good for our waistline… Husband usually always orders two and this despite the fact that they are pretty big.
The quality of the food is very good and the place looks very clean.
Since this is becoming a very popular spot among the locals, it does get crowded quickly as they do not really have a lot of tables to sit at so that is my one dislike about this place but as far as the food and the service goes — it has always been phenomenal. Besides Mexico, this is as good as it gets in the city to getting a taste of true Mexican Quesadillas from homemade corn tortillas.
Oh and don’t even get me started on their coffee. Their coffee is beyond delicious. Mexican Café de la Olla usually contains a hint of cinnamon so if you do not mind the added ingredient, you will get hooked on this coffee.
We live in the city but because of Quecas, we have been venturing more and more to Melrose Pk. Cant go wrong with this place. Affordable food and quality ingredients.

The salsa bar has lots of good options from mild to burning hot. Be extra careful there. Very friendly staff. Fantastic experience.

Amazing food, from the fresh handmade tortillas to the spicy sauces! My son makes me take him there once a week. They have vegetarian options also which I love! I’ve tried almost all of the quesadillas. My favorite is the flor de calabasa, mushroom, and chicharon prensado. Careful with the salsas, they are hot, hot, hot! I love spicy, it’s right up my alley. My hubby not so much into spicy. You can also add lettuce and sour cream from the salsa bar. Amazing place!

Very good quesadillas. Great for a quick stop lunch, got food for three for under $ 12! Tortillias made fresh for your quesadilla is a big plus.

YES!!! I do not know why this amazing Mexican Quesadilla franchise from Chicago, decided to take up camp in Melrose Park, let alone in the location of a previous restaurant that went out of business, but I’m glad they did! The quesadillas are delicious! But they should be, they only serve quesadillas and tacos. However putting that aside, the selections are incredible! Especially the vegetarian options! The tortillas though… amazing…the cheese… amazing. steak…amazing.
The condiment bar is both heaven and hell, with the hottest and spiciest salsa you’ll ever taste in your life, coupled with the most delicious salsas and freshest veggies. Absolute perfection.
It doesn’t stop there! Prices range from $ 3-​$ 4 per face sized quesadilla! They have horchata and other aguas frescas too. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended and will most certainly be back myself.
