Delicious! Clean and fresh. I had the chicken pork and shrimp dumplings and the homemade noodles with beef. So good! This was my first time there. Not only was the food on point, but everyone was extremely friendly. I’m definitely coming back. A++

So my boyfriend and I came here and we were absolutely starving. We ordered two pork dumplings and after they brought the first out, we wish we had ordered two more. Not large portions and I even ordered a steak bowl and was still hungry. They also don’t have soda or normal beverage selections :(but they tasted good, just wanted a lot more!

Came here with a friend last minute and happened to be there when Daniel came in so we got to share some things with him. The three of us had a magnificent experience trying different things. Also, the owner and his wife chatted with us and told us more about their food. They sell healthy food and have really good vegan and gluten free food. The only hard thing with healthy food is that it often has blander flavors. To counter this, they have Sriracha and soy sauce on the table– both of which I mixed into everything I ate. Healthy and yummy! My friend adored the lamb skewers. We will definitely come back to try more things. To Try: Tacos Loved: — Apple Dumplings — Shrimp Dumplings — Watermelon Pomegranate Juice Liked: — Fresh Homemade Noodles with Chicken — Lamb Skewers Disliked: — Lemon Ginger Tea

Simple, home made, and tasty! Casual, hospitable, and ideal for lunch. The sausage dumplings are the best and the homemade noodles go great with beef.

This place is everything and more. When they first opened I thought it was strange that they would only serve dumplings but they serve way more than that. Don’t get me wrong, their dumplings are why you go here but I usually get a noodle bowl! They have such relaxing music which creates a beautiful atmosphere when you walk in. They also have vegan options! They serve up all natural food. You can literally see the chef cooking it in front of you. I’m obsessed with their food! You definitely have to check this place out!

Excellent dumplings!!! The taste was fabulous!!! So why a 3? I ordered a rice bowl with Mongolian beef and the wife ordered a chicken salad. To say the protein was minimal, might be an overstatement. The salad portion was pretty small, but my rice bowl was plenty! Putting more sauce on the rice would have made it a better meal and value!!! The family who owns this store is very nice and very helpful!!! We spent $ 31 on this lunch, so a little pricey for what we got. With all that being said, I’d like to try the noodles!!! They looked delicious!!!

Amazing dumplings. Def try the shrimp one. I had a combo meal with rice and it was super Delish. They only thing is that the dumplings meal is a bit expensive and I’m not sure it’s filling.

Nothing big or really interesting at this place, unless there are no other dumpling houses in Memphis. I might be spoiled a bit with living in Chicago and traveling to NYC often, but this place has just an average fare. I had the dumpling meal(had the pork ones), which really is hardly a meal and more of an appetizer. I get that they are a small family run operation, but there is nothing here that made me want to come back. Again, nice people. Food was just average.

Simple, fresh dumplings with homemade teas at affordable prices made for a delicious lunch. We tried all 4 dumplings and are divided between the flavorful chicken and the colorful vegan ones. The friendly owners checked in to be sure we were satisfied and offered us summer noodles to try, for a future menu addition. 4Dumplings is a quick, tasty lunch in the strip mall and would be a staple in my work week rotation if I lived in the area.

Service was okay. Food was not what I expected. I expected phở type noodle bow it didn’t have a lot of broth. It was yummy still. I got the ginger soy broth sans the peanut. Flavorful nonetheless

Dumplings were ok. But I’m not sure they understand the concept of veganism. If you offer something as a «meal» and one can come in and say they want the vegan«meal», everything on that plate should be vegan. However, when I asked about the Cole slaw I was told, «yeah its vegan. I mean its made with fish sauce, but other than that…» K well, so that’s not even vegetarian, but thanks. Not impressed. Won’t return.

Nice to see a unique place like this in East Memphis! The owner is so sweet and enthusiastic about her food. It was truly refreshing to see! My sister and I decided to share the steamed chicken dumplings and Mongolian beef with handmade noodles. The dumplings were cutely presented in a bamboo steamer and were pretty tasty with the tangy dipping sauce. The handmade noodles take extra time(like 10 min) but are worth it. Mongolian beef was tender and flavorful. This place is good but with so many other great Asian places nearby, I’d probably only visit again for the dumplings… and to chat with the owner.

This place has good dumplings. They are a bit on expensive side for the dumpling, but it tasted good. Their service is very fast. I was expected to wait about ten minutes after ordering, but nope. Dumpling arrived fresh in less than three minutes. I think this place is faster than fast food places. Will come back when the mood for dumpling hits.

Yummy! I checked out 4Dumplings on the recommendation of an associate. She did me a favor! The flavors here are just wonderful. I had the shrimp dumplings that the owner suggested. The interior is bright and the family who owns the restaurant is really nice. I also ordered the egg rolls and red bean beignet. Make sure you have the tasty sauces with your dumplings.

Okay, I’m pretty damn sure that was the best egg roll I have ever had, ever. Also possibly the best dumplings I have ever had in my life as well. The owners are outgoing and friendly and clearly love what they do and care deeply about the food they prepare and serve. I’m so happy I found this place!

Very unusual to have a dumpling restaurant in Memphis since they aren’t known for their Asian cuisines and have a very small Asian population. When I first walked into the store, I noticed it had a clean, bright modern look to it, reminding me of frozen yogurt shops. The owner at the counter noticed it was our first time there as we were staring at their minimalist menu. She was very sweet and helpful by explaining to us in depth about their four dumplings, lunch noodle or rice combos, soups, and their concept for healthy eating. My boyfriend and I shared the hot and sour soup and we both really enjoyed it. In Americanized Chinese restaurants, their hot and sour soups have corn starch in them and ends up being too thick. However, at 4Dumplings, the hot and sour soup was thin and had a moderate vinegar base. The soup was temperature-wise hot, but not spicy, and filled with napa cabbage, delicious shitake mushrooms, thinly sliced tofu, and shaved carrots. As an extremely picky vegetable eater, I ate all of the contents in the soup! Also, great for the 40 degrees weather Memphis was having! I ended up getting the pork dumplings meal, which came with six large Northern styled dumplings(composed with a thicker skin compared to Cantonese/Southern styled dumplings). The meal came with a side of soy sauce with a vinegar base dipping sauce, but I usually don’t dip my dumplings in sauce if the meat inside is juicy and flavorful. These pork dumplings were so scrumptious! Juicy, flavorful pork and napa cabbage steamed to perfection! You can taste the freshness and that it’s homemade. My boyfriend got the chicken rice noodle combo meal with two chicken dumplings. The noodles were slightly chilled and came with shaved cucumbers and carrots, peanut sauce, and steamed egg. He liked his meal, but liked my pork dumplings more than his chicken dumplings. I thought the chicken ones were okay, not as juicy and plump compared to the pork dumplings. 4Dumplings strongly advertises healthy eating. They charge $ 1 to pan sear their steamed dumplings. However, I think the dumplings are just fine steamed. It’s slightly on the pricier side, but the dumplings are homemade. If we come back to Memphis, we will definitely stop by here for more of their delicious dumplings!

My first review of 2015 :). Finally I got a chance to visit this place. I love small businesses like these, they usually have the best service. I went there with 2 other friends. We ordered the hot and sour soup which was perfect for a cold day The chicken dumplings were extremely flavorful, melt in your mouth. Served hot in those lil bamboo containers. The vegan dumplings were good too but not as goos as the chicken dumplings. We also ordered the rice meal which was ok. Next time, I ll order the noodle meal, it looked more wholesome and nice. Not to forget the amazing tea with ginger nd honey, soooooo good!!! The staff is extremely friendly, they take pride in their food and explain eveyrthing really well. Such service always gets an extra star from me. I’ll be returning soon !!!

OH… MY… Steamy Dumplings!!! This place currently has 5 types of handmade fresh large steamed dumplings. They made the dumplings larger with a thicker skin than typical as expected of a Northern-China style dumplings. The owner confirms, he is from the North! The owner also said the dumplings are larger because steamed dumplings will hold better that way. The five types starts with the traditional pork dumplings, which is made with pork, Chinese cabbage, ginger, onions, and garlic; just like how my family makes it. Then there are the not very traditional beef dumplings with peppers and onions; shrimp dumplings with squash for the crustacean fans; vegan dumplings with tofu, chickpeas, mushrooms, cabbage, and a little bit of magic; and chicken dumplings with onions and mushrooms that is quite delicious as well. I like the pork dumplings. It tastes fresh and everything, but the chicken dumplings might actually be better! However, those vegan dumplings, that I can’t get no where else, are mind blowing. I’ve had vegan dumplings before, but they’re typical stuffed with mung bean noodles. Not here. Aside from the ingredients they listed, I don’t know, but it tastes awesome. From the skin of the dumplings to the textures of the ingredients inside… BOOM!!! Well, I think I’ve found my vegan spot in town. I’ve also had their pork meatball soup which is very traditional Chinese«soul» food if you will. And they also serve house cold lemon ginger honey tea, which honestly should come with the meal, if I can make a critique of it. Everyone is a critic… The most traditional way to cook dumplings is by boiling them, and it might be hard to do consistently at a restaurant. Boiled dumplings do generally taste better due to the skin of the dumplings soaking the flavors of the ingredients inside. That said, I don’t know of a single Chinese restaurant in town who freshly makes its dumplings and boils them. Almost all places steam or pan-fry(potstickers). If someone know of one, let me know! The best dumplings in town used to be at Mosa Steamed Dumplings and New Asia’s San-Tung Steamed Dumplings(山東水餃). Mosa’s dumplings are small chicken dumplings at 5 for $ 5. New’s Asia’s San-Tung Dumplings is 12 for $ 9.25. But New Asia stopped making theirs from scratch and buy them frozen… Very sad… These dumplings at 4Dumplings is 6 for $ 8, and you don’t have to tip! 4Dumplings obviously has the best dumplings, not even close… sorry, Mosa. And the vegan dumplings has no competition! So, obviously, 4Dumplings takes the crown at the Best Dumplings category. I suppose that they had a busy, crowded, and/or badly executed opening day, having so many bad reviews so early… If you’re one of those guys, give the dumplings another chance! They are not experienced restaurateurs, and it does show. And they have Xiao Long Bao and potstickers for Sunday Brunch. I repeat, they have Xiao Long Bao… :drools:
