Excellent communication every step of the way — couldn’t have asked for better service with my move from the west coast out to the east coast in only a few weeks notice.

OK, I am going to try and not be completely biased here on this review. In the back of my mind, I want to say that anyone that will move you out of Memphis deserves 5 stars just because they got you out of there! It’s kind of like being on one of the last choppers out of Saigon and then complaining about the in-​flight movie…
But alas, a review you came for and a review, my friend, is what you will get:
So, I have what essentially turns out to be a short notice move a few months ago out of Memphis (the Detroit of the Delta). I call around and get a few estimates, but from the minute I called Armstrong, they just seemed like they would bend over backwards to make the process easy and painless for me. Speaking of bending over, I thought that’s what they would expect me to do when I saw their estimate, but NO, they were right in line with everyone else, even a little on the cheap side. They are completely full service, if you want them to, they will pack up your entire place and move you out, leaving you to do nothing but pay for it. If I only had the financial resources Obama thinks I have… dammit, once again I digress… Back to the story, they send an estimator who is prompt, professional, and fast. My estimate is emailed over to me in a day or something. No back end surprises on the price either, more about that later! I decide to use them, the crew shows up, on time and ready to go. They get it knocked out, despite the fact that I was barely ready (OK, I WASN’T READY). The house was difficult in a number of ways, but I never heard any complaining and NONE of my things got damaged. The crew helped me box up some stuff and used their materials at no extra charge… they helped the panic go away. The guys leave smiling just as big as when they showed up, and I was actually smiling by this point too!
Fast forward to the other side of the country. I had gotten regular reports of the progress of my loot. Since I had a mini-​vacay between the move, there was some coordination issues that they handled brilliantly. The timing was seriously perfection. I arrived from the airport at my new house, and, guess what, the moving truck was waiting outside! The crew on the other side was just as efficient and professional as the first. They got me done and helped with little extras that they weren’t ‘obligated’ to.
A word of caution here as well, but not related to Armstrong. I know people that have used some of these discount online moving companies. They promise these low prices (about half of what the big boys charge), give you this smoking estimate, but then have some type of out saying that they will weigh the actual stuff when its on the truck and charge accordingly. This is a total bait and switch. Their movers suck, are careless, and you will actually end up paying the same or more for crappy service, longer transit time, and probably have damaged stuff in the end. They also have all these clauses in their contract about the number of steps they will go up, etc, and if its a step more, get ready to pay!
Back to the awesome experience I had with Armstrong. Every single person I dealt with did a hell of a job They were efficient, timely, and gave me a good price on a superior product. Let’s face it, moving sucks, but using Armstrong sure takes a lot of the pain out of it.
