Best«bar» bar in Memphis. Excellent food and great staff.

Tasty fast good price. The lower level(basement) is nice, quiet, not all the busy busy. If you need quieter that’s it!

Solid late-night spot, open the Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend after my wedding, so turned into our after party. The smoking inside bars in Memphis always throws me for a bit of a loop, but I appreciated the overall friendly ambiance and local/fairly mixed beer selection on tap. Everyone with us had a good time! I’ve been there before with friends for a late night birthday celebration abd appreciated the downstairs tables conducive to that.

Great dive bar with a valid selection of beers and decent food. I will most certainly be back.

Randomly went here for breakfast as it was the closest place to my hotel. Breakfast menu is very small. I’m surprised they are open for breakfast during the week. Maybe they think«we are here prepping… Mine as well open and make money». Regardless… The breakfast burrito was oddly good… Would I go out of my way to eat it… No, but it was satisfying none the less.

Is this the best bar in Memphis? I’d say yes. The food is amazing and the staff are rock stars. It’s smoking upstairs and non smoking down. Leave the kids at home but bring the dollar bills for the jukebox. It does get crowded but there’s a reason for that. Dou you bardog? Yes I do! Aieeee

We came into Bardog Tavern with our friend that was taking us to all the joints he hits up in Memphis. I said I had never been there… until I walked in and it all came back to me in a haze. Definitely drank a lot in college. So this has an upstairs bar which gets PACKEDOUT and is apparently a law student hang a lot of the time. We walked in and it was totally packed, no seats, so we went downstairs to the less packed, more chill lounge area. it is like going in a secret basement area, no windows, dark, with a bar at the end of the room. Non-smoking downstairs, smoking upstairs it appears. So we did what we do and got some vodka sodas and chatted with the bartender. It was quiet and we could talk and decide on where to eat. Perfect for what we were looking for. I definitely like the set up and the vibe of this place. I think it can be casual or crazy depending on the night and which area you hang out in. So decide what you want and give it a try.

I ordered the«Amazing Island Club» sandwich and was very good but justo obit for me. I was only able to eat about ¾ and could not eat fries. But the chicken, bacon and egg have it a good flavor. No issues with the sandwich, it was just too big.

Stopped in late after a baseball game and had a quick dinner after a bartender at another restaurant close to this that was closing recommended them. I had the Sliders and they were great. Really good. My wife had the Steak Quesadilla. Also solid. This place is good, solid bar fare. We will eat here again. One caveat… It IS a bar… They still allow smoking and that didn’t go over well with my wife who is sensitive to it.

Great little bar, walked into grab some drinks prior to dinner reservations. A little smokey but drinks were cold and the food smelled good. Next time we are going to try some of their food because most the reviews say they got some great food.

OMG! The«AMAZING» Island Club is just that — AMAZING. Grilled chicken, ham, fried egg, bacon, provolone cheese, American cheese, avocado, onion lettuce, spicy mayo AND minus the tomato(sorry, I only like mine fried and green). That seriously was the best club sandwich I’ve ever had. I still have half to eat later or for breakfast. I’ve never been in Bardog, to be truthful I’ve never even thought of going but I’m at the salon without snacks AND my stylist suggested Bardog as being a great place to order from-and yes, they delivered to the salon. (Somehow I left this in my drafts; this is my review from 1⁄2016)

Dive-y bar with food and a wide age ranged clientele, we stopped for a quick dinner during an impromtu bar tour. Sliders were pretty good — not great, not awful. Our waitress was sort of ditzy(we each ordered different IPAs and she brought two of the same stoudt), and had kind of a crappy attitude despite us being upbeat and pumped to be in Memphis. Oh well!

A must go to restaurant and bar in downtown Memphis! After a long training conference i decided to stop in at Bardog Tavern due to the Unilocal reviews. Found a great seat at the bar and ordered a Tuaca bomb, simple drink but you have to know the balance between the liquor and the energy drink. …that bartender DID! and was very friendly. They offer an upstairs and downstairs lounge, but I opted for the lower level where I could embrace the atomosphere and be close to the exit in case something jumped off(old hood habits that keep you safe in a new city) The waiter was attentive, I ordered some more drinks and then had food. I had a burger but can’t remember what the heck it was! sandwich was good sonnn! Bardog is a must visit spot if you are looking for a place to catch some late night dinner, drinks and socialize with some cool peps Im a fan.

It’s safe to say a large portion of my paychecks go to Bardog — on food and drinks. I love brunching here, ordering a island club delivered to my apartment, and staying here until the wee hours. The food here is probably the best bar food around. The amazing island club is exactly that — amazing. Split it with someone or expect to get a to go box. Just don’t ever leave it behind, it’s too good to waste. They also have great tomato soup and buffalo chicken tenders. The bartenders here remember you and are super friendly. I prefer to hang out downstairs when it is open because of the no smoking policy. If you’re looking for your go-to neighborhood bar with great food, Bardog is it.

I miss BarDog. It was my favorite bar in Downtown Memphis and several of my friends were regulars here in the Cheers sense. Many great nights started out at BarDog. Respectable draft selection, good cocktails, totally solid food. There’s a full bar on the main floor and some smaller tables. Downstairs has a smaller bar and more tables. Best times to go are for lunch or after 9pm. It’s the kind of place were you can expect the Fireball shots to come out early and often. The only minus is that it still allows smoking.

I’ve been here for dinner and drinks on more than one occasion and it’s always great!!! Friendly service, great food & a fair price! I highly recommend«the amazing island club». Their sliders are great as well. Any time I’m looking for a casual and delicious meal this is my go to!

Probably my favorite bar in Memphis! But I have to dock a star because I just hate having to tolerate cigarette smoke. Working weird day and night shifts, I love how Bardog is open from 8am-3am and that the place is always popping. I been here at 8am, the place is packed as it is at midnight, it was even packed on Thanksgiving! Speaking of Thanksgiving, we actually came here one Thanksgiving and honestly it was a great holiday meal! If you’re there in AM, don’t miss out on the breakfast shot, it’s incredible and comes with the crispest side of bacon as a chaser. There is an insane selection of beer, both bottled and on draft as well as awesome bartenders who can make any drink your heart desires. So stop by, grab a drink and see where the night… or morning takes you!

A long overdue post about my favorite bar in downtown Memphis. Bardog is the classic bar with everything you’d want. The look is great, traditional and spacious. Comfy chairs and great looking bar. Caution: people can still smoke in here, but only on one floor. It should not be a deterrent. I’ve been to brunch and Brittany takes great care of me. The lobster omelet is everything a brunch should be: generous portion, great preparation, and yum yum yummy. The sliders are great, but the club sandwich is to die for. Go for the fries. They’re thin, crisp, and addictive, especially when dipped in the house aioli. The local brews from Ghost River and Memphis Made are on tap and perfect for the sports atmosphere or the social scene Bardog offers. It’s the Memphis MacLaren’s, or Cheers, but with food way better than any bar food would conceivably be. Go, eat, drink, and have a ball.

Great food. They even deliver! They open at 11 on Sunday’s for brunch. $ 4 Bloody Mary/screwdrivers. I had the deluxe grilled cheese and my friend got the burrito and a slider. We loved all of it! Fun atmosphere. There is smoking at the bar but it didn’t bother me much while eating. Definitely a place that I will be back to!
