I just tried the getwell store but couldn’t find where to review it on Unilocal.Value is excellent. Six bucks for wings, fries, celery, carrots, rolls, and a drink. Plenty to eat I couldn’t finish. The store looked nice and the bathroom was clean. The wings are really as good as more expensive places. Most people tend to overcook wings and this is no exception. Am I the only person who doesn’t prefer dry, crunchy wings? I like to fry the average size exactly one minute after they float. I’ve never found a place that doesn’t like to make double sure they’re done. Also, I asked them as hot as possible and I was warned I wouldn’t be able to handle them. In my opinion, though, they were very sweet without much heat. Very flavorful though. Good work guys.

This restaurant lives up to it’s name. My family used to eat here at least once a week when we lived in the neighborhood. Since we moved to Bartlett, not as much. We passed by it coming from Brooks Art Gallery, and had to stop in. The wings are still awesome, in fact, I’ve never had any better, period! They use whole wings, and not bits and pieces of wings. The wings are cooked to perfection, and for us, the mild sauce is perfect. The seasoned fries are also great. If you’re hungry and want great food at a great price, I recommend this restaurant.

Never order the fish basket. This is not catfish as they advertise and stated before I ordered. The fish was SWAI. It is mostly skin, no flakey fish inside. It has no taste and they give you plenty for the bucks. I shoukd have know when I opened the plate and noticed how long the strips were, it was not catfish. This should be against the law to advertise one thing ang give the customer something else. I will never eat or order from here again.

This place is really great! I ate here years ago and I remembered they had a huge tasty turkey burger. When I went back last week, I ordered the turkey burger again and it was delicious — wowsers! I have had their wings and they are really good, but the turkey burger keeps me wanting to come back. Don’t expect to be in and out, but the wait was not too terribly long. Give it a try, I am sure anything you get is going to be delicious.

No one should have to wait 30 minutes for mediocre wings. I’ve tried to call in an order before but They refuse to do that. Horribly run, slow, bad service, rude cashiers. There are plenty of better places

Several years ago, I stopped at Best Wings of Memphis on Summer Avenue for a cheeseburger. I had low expectations about it, assuming that a hot wings restaurant couldn’t make a great burger. My doubts were put to rest after taking the first bite, for it was very delicious. I can’t precisely remember why I liked it, but the experience stuck with me like fond memories of a beautiful woman. Although the burger was great, I never got around to having another one until last week. Taking advantage of a day off from work, I made my way back to Best Wings for another wonderful burger. I went there expecting more, and I wasn’t disappointed. Best Wings’ cheeseburger isn’t anything other than a basic cheeseburger composed of the usual stuff that most expect. Breaking it down, it consists of a ground beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard and mayo(and onions that I left out). In other words, the cheeseburger doesn’t have anything that can’t be found elsewhere. However, it’s the way that those ingredients are thrown together is what raises Best Wings’ cheeseburger above the pack. While the slightly charred and«well done» ground beef provides a good base for the burger, the excessive mayonnaise gives it most of its taste. There is so much of it in the burger that I initially assumed it was another layer of cheese. Even though it is a bit much, the mayo lends itself well for a decadent cheeseburger that is delicious despite being slightly unhealthy. For those unfamiliar with Best Wings’ cheeseburger, it is very comparable to Tops Bar-B-Q. Although the barbecue chain might have a slight edge in meat quality, distinguishing between it and Best Wings could prove difficult for most. Given the similarities, it’s unfortunate that Best Wings’ cheeseburger doesn’t get more recognition. To help in that effort, I put Best Wings of Memphis on my best burger list. While it will never substitute for a tasty Uptown Burger from Roxie’s Grocery or a Local Burger with gourmet fixings, Best Wings’ cheeseburger is what it is. I appreciate it, and I’m confident that others will too. Given that Best Wings of Memphis is, well, a wings joint, I should have an opinion about its primary product. I don’t, so I’ll defer to other blogs like Best Memphis Burger(which I believe would give Best Wings’ cheeseburger three stars) and Memphis Gastro’s Blog that have similar views about the restaurant’s Buffalo wings. For the most part, the prevailing opinion of the wings is they are mushy and sweet that’s due to its tomato-based sauce. I personally never had wings with a sauce like that, so I’ll reserve judgment until I try them myself. I want to end this review by commenting on Best Wings’ service. for the most part, it is very prompt in getting out orders. It has to be, for none of its locations(including on Elvis Presley Blvd. and Getwell Rd.) take phone orders(I’m assuming that it got«stiffed» a lot). At the Summer Ave. location, Gospel music plays loudly throughout the restaurant(closed on Sundays). I definitely felt like I was in church while chomping on my burger. Overall, I had a great time at Best Wings, for it was an uplifting experience in terms of both the food and atmosphere. That said, I won’t wait another several years for my next visit. While I was waiting in line, another customer had a problem with her wings not being honey gold, which to be fair it did say honey glazed on the sign board.(I was also looking forward to the honey gold but ended with glazed… more on that later.) The manager came by after a few minutes of polite argument between one of the cashiers and the customer and refunded the customer’s money and let her have lunch on him(though she offered to pay for the fries). Anyway, that’s pretty good service in my book, the manager/owner didn’t get uppity or whatever, he was pretty proud of his sauce actually which is nice. So while I wasn’t able to get honey gold I did get honey glazed, and hot. There is a tad bit of sweetness in the hot but not so much that it totally differs the flavor. Honey glazed just sucked. The wings are a decent size, whole wings. They were also decently crispy, they came out in about 2 minutes and came with rolls,(kinda forgettable) carrots and celery, and ranch. I got seasoned fries which were really good but kinda like checkers fries. Good lunch spot, definitely not the best wings I’ve had in memphis but they are on the higher end of the spectrum. If I don’t feel like driving all the way to uptown to get the real best wings in memphis or I’m too lazy to make my own, I might go here again for wings. Oh and they are cash only, but they do have an atm machine right inside.

I’ve never had the wings, BUT I always go here for the fried catfish dinner entrée. It is delicious. They give you a big carry out container and they just fill it up with fish and fries, but mostly fish. It’s always taste fresh and never disappoints.

I want to go out on a limb here. While I am not by any means a connoisseur of every wing joint in town Best Wings of Memphis is a high quality product. Like other reviewers I was amazed by the crispy skin and the bulk for the price. Adding fries doesn’t shoot your price through the ceiling either. I am particular about wings so I ordered the wings plain with seasoning rather than dressed with sauce. Ordering sauce on the side let me dip to my choosing and also sample a variety. I think that the proof of wing places is often in the Mild sauce, simply because it usually delivers a signature flavor without trying to kill you by being«OMGTHEHAWTESTEVARRRR!!!1!!!11!» Needless to say I was not disappointed. A pleasant touch of sweetness with delicious peppery bite. Service was fast and friendly with no frills. Be aware this place is Not open on Sundays and they do not accept orders by phone. You gotta go and get in line. That said, it’s worth the short wait for fresh, delicious food. Give them a try. Whether they are indeed the Best, if you live in VECA, Evergreen or the Rhodes area I can imagine them being a welcome change to having to fry your own, or the pricey trek to clip joints like Buffalo Wild Wings.

Okay this place does not deserve to carry that name. I’ve had wings three times from this place and I am not impressed at all. The Wings are averaged best. There’s nothing that sets them apart from other hotwing establishments. The are one of the few places that serve whole hotwings. The prices are average best but I still wouldn’t refer anyone here, as my first or second choice.

Alright, I’ll respect your chicken wing swag, but honestly, any place that names itself«Best Wings of Memphis» is just setting itself up for failure. On to the review… So the Honey Bunny and I came here and got the honey hot and regular hot. I’m gonna make it short and sweet. THEBESTWINGSINMEMPHIS. PERIOD. Get outta here with the Ching’s hot wings non-sense. Come here and have your mind changed. The chicken wing(whole) itself was large and crispy. None of that rubbery chicken BS. 10⁄10 The buffalo hot sauce wouldn’t be a true buffalo hot sauce as there’s a bit of sugar in it and the sugary taste is definitely apparent, but it’s really good. Sauce is superb, but it’s sugary, so it’s tough to categorize. The honey hot is pretty much a honey sauce with other ingredients in it. Although it is really sweet, it’s really good. The first time we got it, the honey hot was mixed in with the original hot sauce(wings were both in the same styrofoam container), and we thought that’s was how it was supposed to be. But the second time we got the honey hot wings, we got it by itself, and we learned that the honey hot by itself is not as good as the honey hot/original mixture. So if you want the real deal holyfield of best wings in Memphis, come here; you won’t be disappointed.

Best Wings of Memphis? Maybe the best wings on Summer Ave… I’ll give ‘em that. They serve their wings whole, with what seemed like 20 sauce choices. We opted for the honey hot and mild buffalo. The honey hot will have you licking your fingers. It’s good! The mild buffalo was pretty standard hot wingish. We had some fries and fried okra as our side items(we were clearly on a health kick — right). The sides were pretty basic. The wings made the meal, but they were supposed to I suppose. You don’t go to «best wings of Memphis» for good side items. It was pretty inexpensive, and relatively fast considering the crowd they had on Friday night. If I get a craving for wings again, they wouldn’t be my first choice — but they’d get the job done.

In my search for the best wings in Memphis how could I not include a visit to a join named Best Wings of Memphis? I Stopped here on a Friday around 12:30 and man was it packed! I was hungry and I started to worry that I would have to endure a substantial wait. Turns out, these guys know how to handle the traffic. They have about 7 to 10 sauce choices including mild, honey hot, and lemon pepper. I ordered 4 whole wings hot with blue cheese dressing. I only had to wait about 10 minutes before my order was up. Although there are tables inside, all orders are packed and bagged take out style. I opted to take my wings home since I was by myself and it was a short drive back to my house. So how did they taste? Interesting. The first thing I noted was the unexpected sweet… and then the heat. They were hotter than some but not hot enough to cause pain. Personally, I don’t like my hot wing sauce the least bit sweet so I have to stick with my 3 star rating for this review. Had there not been sugar in the sauce I would have bumped it up to 4 stars.

So glad to be the first person to put this place on the« Unilocal Map» as a «Yelper Helper»! They have every right to call themselves the Best Wings of Memphis because they have the«best wings» in Memphis. It is especially true if you like whole chicken wings with homemade sauce cooked fresh to order! A friend of mine and I ate here twice one week while on business and the flavors are out of this world good! Crazy how she didn’t know the name of this restaurant because she ate here two years ago. The minute we dined in Cozy Corner Restaurant and asked the owners who around town serves lemon pepper wings. How about they knew right off the bat that this was the place! We had lemon pepper wings and honey BBQ wings for lunch one day. I never had lemon peper wings before so it was a first! I talked about the wings so much that craved them into the night and next day. I told my friend that I wasn’t leaving Memphis until we eat there again before we head home. Well, the next day for lunch my friend had fried catfish and I again had the lemon pepper wings, and honey BBQ wings. A note to the wise! The parking is crazy and people will park all kind of ways to get to this place in this mini strip mall. Don’t be afraid to walk a distance to get to it so that your car won’t get backed into by someone. The lines can be long as well but it is worth it for some good ol’ hot and cooked to order fried chicken wings! I can’t wait to get back to this place! Definitely will be one of my spots when I’m in Memphis!
