Greasy delicious pizza toppings. I didn’t really like the crust but the toppings were perfect on the meat lovers. The strawberry cake was decent but I’ve had better. It was quite loud on the Monday afternoon that I visited. I plan on visiting the Mendenhall location soon.

I had a pizza which was loaded in toppings. I thought it was delish. I also went outside of the box and had their catfish and spaghetti. It was also great. I also enjoyed some local Memphis beer. The waitress said a pitcher was better than by the glass. I think it’s a great place to eat.

The new hand tossed pizzas are AMAZING!!! My favorite of their original pizzas is the Cheeseburger crispy crust w/precooked beef, extra ketchup/mustard and extra pickles. The wings are HUGE!!! The smell makes my mouth water everytime. Seasoned fries fried hard are also on point! Plate lunch is made from different employee’s own family recipes, though the mashed potatoes are instant :(booo, but maybe if more people order plate lunch that will change? Fingers Crossed! Fridays and Saturdays are super busy, so I recommend going on a weekday when things are slower. Adrian, the manager is really nice and will take care of any problem you might have… but he can’t help you if you don’t speak up. Its a little dingy on the inside, but the bathrooms are remodeled and nice, the health score is high and acceptable, the tables are clean … but it is seat yourself so you might accidently sit at a freshly bussed table that hasn’t been cleaned yet… just tell your server and they will gladly clean it up for you! Oh and DON’T FORGETTHECAKE!!! It’s made INHOUSE almost daily! The slices are HUGE! Don’t be put off by the price at $ 4.00 a slice plus tax… A snickers bar is almost two bucks and it wouldn’t last me 5min much less TWODAYS like the cake slices at Broadway.

This hole in the wall pizzas is filled with families and its Binghampton neighbors and hipsters that didn’t know Broad avenue existed until 2013 during the start of Broad Ave gentrification. I rarely have eaten in the restaurant during peak hours because it is a tight squeeze. I recommend that you call for carry out. We were quoted 35 minutes which was very accurate. I was already in the neighborhood so I went ahead and left to go patronize the surrounding boutiques.(Note: Great selection of boutiques for home products and gifts.) 35 minutes after placing the order I picked it up and left to go devour it. I had a large vegetarian pizza which was the perfect level of thin crust that I love. It’s an expensive pizza at $ 28, but the ingredients are fresh and you can taste the difference . The servers are in always in good spirit and so are the customers. There are some customers that huff in there thinking you’ll have quality pizza at McDonalds speed and Pizza Hut prices surrounded by Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. They can go to the Poplar/Mendenhall one for that. There is always 1 Debbie Downer, so be prepared and don’t let them ruin your bite into your pizza. I haven’t eaten a Broadway Pizza in years. Years being since I was child because I never liked the meat on meat on meat pizzas my family ordered. Note: I am now a vegetarian lol. Anyway, we stopped into Broadway after leaving City & State’s birthday party and ordered the vegetarian pizza with both the house red and garlic sauces. Y’all, it was so good! Like, I wish I could retroactively go back and share a slice with each and every one of you. The pizza was perfectly cooked with crispy edges and a well done but gooey center. The cheese blend was amazing, the veggies delicious, and oh my goodness what are the spaces they top their pizzas with because I want it on everything! My apologies for doubting your yumminess, Broadway. TL;DR: Order the veggie pizza with red and garlic sauce then live your best life.

Woo baby! What’s not to love about Broadway Pizza? They have the best pizza menu I’ve ever seen! Seriously! Every pizza sounds delicious! I never know which one to choose! We typically go for one of the various chicken pizzas. Most recently we chose the«Chickatarian» — blessedly good. It’s definitely my favorite pizza spot in Memphis. Also, the décor is pretty dingey-awesome. I’m digging all of the Elvis portraits all over the place. Also, it’s in a great location surrounded by lots of fun stuff do do before or after your meal.

This was our worst meal in 4 days in Memphis, hands down. We stopped on Saturday night, and the place was full of SCREAMING kids. Our waitress was extremely slow, and our food took, literally, 1-hour to arrive, and we just ordered a pizza! There was also a large number of drunk/drugged-up dudes just SHOUTING in the middle of the restaurant — we watched 2 – 3 people get kicked out. The pizza was also completely disgusting. I don’t know what I should have expected(I’m from Northeast PA — home to some of the best pizza in the country), but this was ridiculous. Thick, but thin/burnt edges, super greasy, and came out barely warm at all. I would’ve preferred Elio’s frozen pizza out of a microwave. We got ½ plain, ½ «Around the World Sausage», and we struggled to eat the plain, and the sausage was inedible — I had ½ piece and gave up. It was dough with a frozen breakfast sausage patty covered with cheese, onion, and green pepper — anyone who praises this pizza shouldn’t be allowed on Unilocal(and should probably be in a mental asylum). Also, ONE pizza cost $ 25 — completely unbelievable. I actually got a rush of adrenaline because I was so furious about how bad/expensive that pizza was. We waited another 30 minutes for our check and I almost answered her question of «Do you guys need a box?» with«HELLNO! This pizza belongs in the TRASH!» but didn’t want to seem rude. Our Über driver recommended the place as the«Best pizza in Memphis», and I’m pretty sure he was trolling us. DONOTGOHERE. We 100% wish we could re-do and go to Bounty on Broad — I heard it’s fantastic.

I really, really wanted to like this place since I’ve heard so many good things about it. But alas, it was only average. I went during a weekday for lunch, and about 6 or 7 people customers were there eating. The place was clean and inviting, and the server brought my menu and took my order promptly. He brought me some water to drink, which had a peculiar(and unpleasant) taste, so he brought me another glass of water which was a little better but still not quite right, especially since Memphis has great water! I ordered a small supreme pizza, and it took *forever* to be prepared and served. Once I got it, I certainly liked it – it was hot and tasty. But nothing out of the ordinary. Would I go to this place again? Yes, certainly. It’s worth another try.

Ohhhh my gosh this place is SO good! I came here while hungover and let me tell you, the greasy goodness of this restaurant cured said hangover. It was a beautiful thing. We came here while visiting Memphis after hearing how good the wings were. We ordered some fried green tomatoes, onion rings, and 3 different types of wings. Warning — the wings are full wings so they are massive. You could tell the green tomatoes were fresh after the first bite. My favorite wing seasoning was the«lemon pepper» but we also ordered«honey hot» and«mild». It’s a good family spot. We came as a group of 5 and they were able to seat us quickly. My only complaint is the staff tends to get a bit distracted, we had to wait a while for water or extra napkins. Water is crucial when eating hot wings so I wasn’t too happy about waiting. Regardless, the food is great here and I will definitely be returning the next time I’m in town — hopefully, I’ll get to try the pizza!

Like a few other people have said about Broadway Pizza, I wish I could give them fewer than one star. I called in a carryout order on a Saturday and after waiting the 45 minutes quoted on the phone, I went to pick up my order. I then waited in a line of about 8 people while the cashier fumbled around and took nearly half an hour to take care of the people in front of me. When I got home and reheated the pizza that was now very cold it occurred to me that I could have saved myself an hour by purchasing a frozen pizza from Kroger and it actually would have tasted better. The restaurant itself is filthy and appears to not have been touched since 1975 when they opened. One has to wonder how they have been in business for so long; I’m guessing that maybe at one time they had decent food but it is obvious that they are cutting a lot of corners and using a lot of cheap ingredients to produce a product for which they charge a lot of money, about $ 30 for a large. Sometimes a restaurant looks like a hole in the wall, has slow service, and is a little expensive but the food is so good that it makes up for all of these shortcomings. This is not one of those places.

I wish I could give this fewer stars! The food was disgusting and overpriced. The spaghetti my son ordered was so overcooked that it was like paste, though the meat sauce itself was fair. The garlic bread was a hoagie roll with margarine and garlic salt, and the taco pizza… was vile. It didn’t taste like taco, for one thing. The«taco meat» was literally spread into the crust RAW and then baked, so that it was a solid mass like a burger. It was topped with a ton of wet iceberg lettuce and chopped tomatoes and then completed with some strange creamy sauce. It was sooo disgusting I could only take one bite, which I then spit out. When I told the server that I didn’t care for the pizza, she asked if I would like it removed from the bill, and I said«yes, please.» A couple minutes later the server came back with a manager, and the manager was rude and confrontational! She said, «What is wrong with this pizza? We made it for you!» I told her that it didn’t taste like taco and that the ground meat wasn’t crumbled and the sauce was strange and that I was sorry I just didn’t care for it. She said«So, you basically just don’t want to pay for the food!» I was dumbfounded as she continued on the same track, sneering at me the entire time. What could I say? The pizza was gross and I didn’t even swallow the only bite I took. The ENTIRE pizza was sitting right there!!! I have never been treated so rudely, and I will definitely never return to this location. I don’t understand how this place is a «Memphis institution» at all.

The sausage and pepperoni I ordered was EXCELLENT. I didn’t even know this place existed until a friend posted a picture of his pizza today. It looked so good I had to run down and get me one and it was well worth it. It took about 30 minutes for my pizza to get ready but it was worth the wait. I’ll be going back.

There are many different types of pizza to close from; thin, deep dish, brick oven, NY and the list goes on and on. Broadway has been one of my favorites since they opened in the late 70’s. The sausage they use on their pizzas is amazing. The crust is probably store bought and frozen but it’s easily overlooked. The building is old and a little shabby but it’s all about the pizza. Our favorite is the«Around the World Sausage» by far one of the tastiest pizzas in Memphis and always ask for toppings. The green olives and peppers on the side make it that much better.

Good little pizza find on a funky little street in Memphis. If you choose to give this place a try, consider ordering in advance so your wait isn’t so long. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We called ahead so our table was ready but we saw others wait for 45 minutes just to get their pizza. The food was really good. We had the Broadway special and a pepperoni and sausage pizza with wings and fries. Two 16″ pizzas fed 15 people easily. The wings were whole so they were a little difficult to eat, but they were really good too. The pizza was a little greasy and the toppings fell off as you picked up the piece, but it was awesome! The bad was that their sodas were no refills. The wings were extra spicy so we had to order several. The service was spotty as well. I actually had to walk and find our server a few times. They also ran out of plates so we had to have paper plates and cups. It was an overall ok experience. I’ll go back but with just lower expectations. I can imagine this to be a good spot after a night of drinking :-)

This is by far some of the best pizza I have ever had. They are very thick with toppings and there are so many toppings to choose from. The staff was very friendly and its a cool mid town dive type atmosphere. I love all of the pizzas on the menu.

Pizza was alright, but the taco pizza had a bit too much dressing for my liking. The downfall was the 45 minute wait for our pizza. I was also looking around the room(which was about 6 other tables) and I saw that no one else had been served anything either during our wait. Probably didn’t use fresh shrimp on my shrimp pepper onion pizza but after such a long wait I was just hungry for anything.

Some of the best sweet tea around. Make sure you try the house made sausage. We have been going to Broadway regularly for about a year now and it has become our favorite pizza in town. I enjoy the funky atmosphere and the service is generally pretty good. My only complaint is that the pizza can be slow to come out, however this is due to the main reason the pizza is sooo good: all of the toppings. They put them on thick! It’s our family favorite, so try it and maybe it’ll become yours too.

My husband was showing a property down in the area yesterday and wanted to know if he could bring home dinner. «Surprise me!», I said. What a nice surprise, indeed! We had never been to Broadway, but if you live in Memphis, you’ve at least HEARD about them. The pizza is cut into squares, which is different, but not unheard of. I liked the mildness of the cheese and the ample toppings. The crust was a perfect compromise for my husband and me: he likes his thicker, hand tossed, while I prefer thin and crispy. We both went back for seconds, but since the pizza is in little squares, somehow that makes it okay and not so gluttonous. The verdict: Great pizza, we will be getting them again, and I relayed to him what a lot of you said about the burger, so that’s on the list as well.

My husband & I were at Wiseacre Brewing last night for a beer while we tried to decide what to do for dinner. Right down the street is a pizza place we always drive past, Broadway Pizza, but the parking always looks so jam packed, we never stopped in. It’s been on my list of Memphis restaurants I want to try for quite awhile, so we mutually agreed we were in the mood for pizza. We were immediately seated, not in the main dining area, but another room that was attached. The place opened in 1977 and the décor reflects that for sure, but don’t let that fool you one bit. Where we were seated lacked much ventilation. Despite the giant fan set up in the corner, it was still stuffy, but again, I was hungry and wanted to enjoy a good pizza. We were promptly greeted by a friendly waitress and ordered a pitcher of Yuengling for $ 10. That’s 6 pints of beer for less than $ 2 a glass. Score! The pizza choices were extensive, some that I had never seen anywhere, such as BBQ& Shrimp pizza, and they even had Turkey as a topping. Interesting indeed! I was more in a traditional pizza mood, so we kept it simple by ordering a 12″ sausage & pepperoni, and a 12″ BBQ pizza. We enjoyed our Yuengling as we waited. Do be prepared to wait a little while for the pizza bakers to work their magic and create a thing of perfection. Trust me, though, it’s worth it. Besides, that’s what the beer is for. Once our pizzas arrived to our table, my eyes must have been as big around as the pizzas. They were loaded with toppings and cheese, and cut up into squares instead of the usual triangular slices. Piping hot and afraid of the toppings sliding off, I decided to eat with a knife and fork. Maybe it was the huge chunks of sausage, or the crispness of the crust, or the extra gooey extra cheese, but this was hands down the BEST sausage & pepperoni pizza I’ve ever had. I’m 34 years old and have been all over Memphis in a quest to find the best pizza Memphis has to offer, and folks, this is it! Next I tried the BBQ pizza and it was equally loaded with cheese and delicious hunk of BBQ. While it was truly a mouthwatering marvel, the sausage & pepperoni was still my favorite. Needless to say, we brought home more than half of each pizza for leftovers. Even though by this point we were both in a pizza coma and in great need of a stomach pump, we couldn’t resist a glorious piece of homemade Almond Joy cake. It was large enough for sharing(okay so maybe FOUR people could share it), and my first thought was«How did they make it so fluffy??» The chocolate frosting, almond slivers and coconut shreds was literally and figuratively the icing on the cake! I am thrilled we finally paid Broadway Pizza a visit and can’t wait to bring the kids back for a visit. Can’t wait to dig into our leftovers in the fridge for breakfast, too!

I had a quick dinner here on the night of the Broad Art Walk. It was a great night and this place was packed! I ordered the Grilled Chicken sandwich and my husband got the chicken wings. He loved the wings and ate every bite. My chicken sandwich was a bit on the tough side, however. Granted, I was at a pizza place getting a chicken sandwich… I give them 4 stars for the great service and the wings(and just because all of the pizza looked so yummy!) I will be heading back there to actually give the pies a try and will update my review.

I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak for lunch, and it was enough for my dinner too. The sandwich had so much meat, onions, peppers, and cheese on it, that it had to be on an open-faced bun. Usually I order the pizza for my husband and I, which is by far the BESTPIZZAINTOWN. Since I wasn’t dining with him, the sandwich seemed a smaller meal. It was just as much food as you get on the pizza. The salads are just as big with the same amount of meat and cheese. Love Broadway Pizza!

Okay pizza, but poor service. I went in with a friend of mine and ordered a 12 inch pizza. The waitress informed us that there would be a 30 minute wait on the pizza, which we were okay with. She asked if we would like an appetizer while we waited, and recommended the fried mushrooms. We decided, why not, we like fried mushrooms, let’s go for it. Our waitress promptly disappeared for 25 minutes, until she brought us our fried mushrooms. Of course, after only managing to eat ¼ of the mushrooms, the pizza was out. The fried mushrooms were obviously frozen as half were hot on the outside and cold on the inside. The pizza was okay. The amount of toppings is crazy. My biggest criticism on it was the mushrooms had that salty canned taste which seemed to pervade the pizza a bit. When our waitress dropped off our pizza, she asked if we wanted any red pepper flakes or parmesan. We answered that we did, but we never received either of those. Once again she disappeared completely so we couldn’t flag her down for what we wanted. My water at that point was completely empty and I was just staring at ice hoping it would melt so I could get some liquids in me to counteract some of the saltiness. After we finished our meal, we stared at the bar /wait station for about 15 minutes hoping to draw some attention, before our waitress finally showed back up to close out our meal. Based on the food, I’d probably return as the pizza was decent, but based on the service, I won’t be back.
