They serve Illy coffee which is excellent. The menu is more limited in Harbor Town than at the other locations. Favorite foods include the black bean quesadilla and the Cady wrap. Atmosphere is eclectic and good for coffee shop working. The service usually leaves a bit to be desired.

I really really really enjoy this place. As soon as I walked in, I loved it. True, local feel. Food and coffee is excellent. The two young guys working were great at service; even not that robotic professional manner. Just were themselves, and it was great! If I am ever in the area again– I will make another stop! Highly recommend!

I want to give them 5 stars, I really do. The French press is delicious. Mine anyway, my husbands not as much. Driving home to IL we stopped in because I wanted a good cup of coffee. I searched miles ahead on our drive to find this place that I thought would fit the bill. Homemade pastries, family owned. Great reviews. How could we go wrong. The place was a little difficult to find off of I-40 but not so much that I was willing to give up after having the spend a second time going around the circle. If you’re like us and not familiar or staying in the area the little street you turn down that looks like a condo parking lot actually is a street and then you take that to another quaintly small street. 3 men behind the counter, cute little place. We did not walk toward the back to see how much seating there was since we placed our order to go. 2 French press, 1 large and 1 small. 1 homemade chocolate glazed donut and 1 cinnamon roll. The place seemed a little busy and having ordered the French press we sat knowing we had a good 10 minute wait if we wanted good coffee. 15 minutes passes and we had been offered our pastries on a plate but explained we wanted them to go, again. The guy who took our order is rushing around looking overwhelmed and confused. Another customer complains they’ve waited so long. And at this point I don’t see that anyone is working on our order. The plated pastries we were offered are still sitting on plates. Not ready to take to go. Just plated and put down, forgotten on the counter. Another guy then says oh yeah the French press and starts to explain to another employee how to make them. What. Why? Why would you do that? If you know how then why tell someone who doesn’t? He then offers us a free pastry while we wait. Um hello. I have a pastry I paid for. My large coffee is steeping and I’m hoping will not be full of grounds since the guy who had to have explained to make the coffee with not enough experience to know how was making it. Mine is pretty decent though not great but could have been much worse and thank goodness for the beans used, illy, otherwise I’m sure from the chaos we witnessed of the little rush and the fact that 3 employees could not handle it that my coffee would be no good. My husband got a small. The employee made him a large. I do not believe it was because we waited, there was no effort on his part to apologize for our wait or say anything to us at all. I don’t believe he understood the ground to water ratio to make the coffee properly for a small if at all. This employee also did not let my husbands coffee steep long enough. I know I was complaining at that point but only because by the time I did we had waited 20 minutes and didn’t have even 1 of the 2 cups ordered. So when we did get 1 finally the guy rushed the second. He should have waited to steep the coffee properly. I should not have had to complain at 20 minutes that we had nothing from our order. And after I did complain I shouldn’t have to feel bad that my husband got a subpar, watered down cup of coffee because the guy rushed since he didn’t think to start the 1 cup then take care of other orders for other customers while our order was steeping. The donuts are delicious. Our coffee should be better. The small rush(about 6 orders) should have been easy for 3 employees to manage(that’s 2 orders per employee) If not then the staff should receive better training. I believe the product could be excellent if the service would have been able to showcase it properly. They did offer us a free donut and also the same to the other woman who complained about the wait. Maybe instead of taking a loss on their baked goods they should have someone extra on payroll to meet the demand if 3 people can’t cut it.

Loved the peaceful coutyard, delicious Mayan cappuccino and large grilled chicken salad light, aiery, and wonderful balance to a lot of heavier food in Memphis. Super service. This is to Sunday Brunch what Flight Wine Bar was to our classy arrival: surprise, delight, divine.

Best coffee in mud island. Donuts are also awesome. Staff hand stamps the sleeves with their cute and dare I say eclectic logo.

As a Mud Island resident and a Starbucks daily customer, I am sad to say I wish I could go to café eclectic more frequently. The ventilation system… it’s a deal breaker for me. I don’t know how the sweet employees work in that environment. I know everyone is really sweet there but there HAS to be a way to fix that. Eyes water and the smell stays on you for the rest of the day. So bad

I live on the island so I stop in here about once a week, more when I was working evenings. First, the customer service has always been excellent. They have always been friendly and welcoming. If they are slow, they will sit and talk to you. That alone, encourages me to keep coming back and supporting a local business. The coffee: I’ve had most of the specialty drinks and found them all to be pretty good. The only one I really disliked was the cinnamon drink because it burned my throat. But it’s cinnamon, so that’s kind of expected. Food: I’ve only had the donuts which I got fresh in the am. They were really moist and I remember wishing I had ordered more.

Awesome coffee shop if you just want to get out of the office and get some things done. I was educated on Illy coffee which I found to be very interesting. Extremely friendly staff which were very efficient! Highly recommend going to this location if you need to step out and get your mind right.

This place is really adorable as well as their staff has ever been friendly. They serve illy coffee, which is a plus; it is great drip and also you get endless refills should you drink it in a mug. Attempt the tofu wrap or the nutella sandwich in the event you are feeling snackful!

I was visiting Memphis and found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it out. I loved the place. The café was cute and welcoming. Their blta was really good too. Although it was a warm day, I decided to try one of their coffees and it was great. They serve Illy coffee. This is a must go to if you’re in the Memphis area. It’s in a cute neighborhood too.

It’s hard to please a Melbournian when it comes to coffee so this is no small compliment — great coffee! The food was extremely tasty with perfect portion sizes. There was even gluten free toast for the BLTA. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Everything was just great: the food was tasty & plentiful, the staff were gracious & efficient, the ambiance(especially out on the sweet outdoor patio where we ate) was cosy, gently worn-in & altogether lovely. They may not have a «kids menu» but with hot dogs, grilled cheese & French toast on the menu it hardly matters. Try the fresh oj, the homemade donuts & the terrific coffee.(Ily. Who knew?) We were just passing thru Memphis on a cross country road trip(after stopping at the River park to stretch our legs) but we are so glad to have found this place!

I’m a big supporter of locally owned and supplied shops and cafés, so I am a big fan of Café Eclectic from the start. Espresso here has been done right, it’s not of the overstated, syrup-laden Starbucks variety. The atmosphere is comfy and quaint, they want you to stay and enjoy that latte and scone you just ordered. I can’t wait to come back and try the lunch menu items!

So the location and layout of this Café Eclectic location are both ideal for those of us who work downtown and want a quick bite to eat, cup of coffee or quiet spot. I stopped in or for a quick lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful and it took about 10 minutes to get my sandwich. A little long but not the end of the world. The McLean location has a wider bakery variety than this location, but it’s smaller so it’s expected they wouldn’t have as much. The one challenge I have with this location is that there is something majorly wrong with their ventilation system. The place felt like it was filled with smoke. So much so that I waited outside until my lunch was ready. For a short time it’s not the worst, but it wasn’t a place that I’d want to sit a while and work or chat with a friend. It may have been that they just had their grilled fired up for too long but it wasn’t comfortable. The food: it was fine. I had a grilled cheese. It good, not remarkable, but a decent lunch.

Not impressed at all. The coffee was weak. The menu was not consistent with the menu online. We thought there was a kids menu and bacon waffles at this location, but that was not the case. The service was ok, but I had to ask 3 times and wait 15 minutes for 2 glasses of water. Then our order was skipped over and had to ask where it was just to get our food. The egg sandwich or English BEC was just ok. The stuffed french toast was a good idea, but poorly executed. Being that the food took forever, there was no attempt to right the ship, just excuses on being understaffed. I get it, but customer service comes into play at that point. Nothing happened. I had high hopes with this place based on the reviews, but was very disappointed. I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because they tried and were nice, but that was about all that was good about our experience.

My favorite place for a cappuccino in Memphis. They serve a real European style cap. It is NOT like Starbucks! In other words, it is smaller, and has less milk than an American style cappuccino. I have been coming here for a few years now, and it is always consistent. I can’t comment about the other food and drink.

What a nice surprise to find(where have I been?) in mud island a place that has wonderfully fresh, local food in a comfortable environment. I had the BLTA, that’s a BLT with avocado, served on ciabatta bread with a side salad. I was so happy to have a midday cappuccino at a reasonable price. The ladies working there were friendly and without attitude, very pleasant. I will definitely be back.

After my first review I had already planned to go back because one less than stellar experience from a local memphis owned and operated isn’t enough to run me away! My return was just expedited by Rachel(manager/media relations) reaching out to me with an invite to come back on the house. I was impressed with her professionalism and care for the quality of their products So I took a stroll over to Mcclean and enjoyed(with my husband over the coarse of 2 days) the following items: Chocolate brownie — so moist and chocolatey — melt in ya mouth good! Chocolate cheesecake brownie– double yum to the chocolate brownie with an extra yippie for the cream cheese swirled in! Lemon tarte — just right amount of lemon tart with a nice flaky crust and creamy custard center Glazed donut– excellent and perfect size. Not bite sized but almost Chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookies– I’m a cookie gal and know a great cookie when I taste one. These were perfect!

I had to update my review because I come here too often not to. I think they are working on the ventilation issue with the building, so its good to know they are aware and trying to fix it. Everyone here is very friendly and nice, and the place has such a casual vibe to it. I’ve been exploring other items on their menu and everything is really good, honestly. I have been eating the SEC(Sausage, Egg, Cheese) breakfast sandwich lately, and that pork sausage has a great kick to it. I also like that they used hard boiled eggs rather than scrambled, which is new and refreshing. Anyways, I just felt they deserved that extra star because it is truly a great place for a casual meal, coffee fix, or sweet tooth pick me up.

Great little café right on the river! There’s an artsy, fun vibe here, with embroidered wall hangings and the assortment of armchairs and café tables typical of the artsy/funky café scene. What sets this place apart is the super friendly staff, the larger-than-expected breakfast/lunch menu, and the absolutely fantastic food here. Customizing your order is no problem — in fact, they encouraged us, on hearing that my partner’s Diablo Wrap was quite good but not spicy enough, to request a spicier version on our next visit; I think they probably would have provided more peppers then and there if he hadn’t already finished it. My iced cinnamon-vanilla latte was made quickly and absolutely smooth, with balanced flavors, while the BLTA was so good, it wound up not mattering that I forgot to ask them to hold the mayo. I look forward to stopping here next time I find myself in Memphis.

I really wanted to like the food at this nice locally run establishment. I’ve tried 3 things thus far, 2 from the midtown café eclectic and 1 from this one on the island. I wont review the food items from the midtown one, but Just know they tasted and were ended up being rated similarly. Picked up lunch to go from here one saturday afternoon. Ordered: CHICKENSALAD sammich on CROSSAINT bread — this portion was HUGE!(as you can see in my pic. sorry, i got too hungries and forgot to take a pic before i took a bite into it). I like my crossaints slightly toasted, but this crossaint was fresh and large! It comes with a side, so I got a side salad, which is yummies. There wasn’t anything wrong with the sandwich itself, just to me, it was a mediocre sandwich. For the portions, the money is worth it(i Think it comes out to around $ 9ish with tax and stuff) but taste wise, it was just aites. KARAMELSUTRA drink — now this is what I loved! It’s like their take on the Starbucks Caramel macchiato. The size of a «small» was smaller than i anticipated, but it definitely didn’t leave me thirsty afterwards. It’s just a bit pricey($ 4.25 or something for the small). Overall, I would come back here for the plethora of drinks they have on their menu, and the cute café environment. The space is rather large inside! more tables than I thought it would have. Very cutesy, and the servers are great and helpful! Side note: i’m a very picky person when it comes to coffee shops and studying in them. I dont particularly like the ones where you leave and the smell of coffee /café drinks stays with your clothes and your hair for the rest of the day. This was unfortunately the case with café eclectic. Even though I stepped in for a few minutes just to pick up my order, I still left with a little bit of the café scent. So I probably wont be studying here any time soon, but I do like the drinks and its proximity to my island home. Food, just aites. drinks, GREAT.

Nice little coffee shop on Mud Island. The food is tasty and the coffee is flavorful. The only problem is that there is poor ventilation in the building. It gets smokey inside and can irritate your sinuses, eyes, etc. They are looking for solutions to this problem, which I find admirable. I’m glad they are trying to fix their only major flaw.

Café Eclectic has a couple of awesome things going for them: 1. The Coffee. Seriously coffee shop owners, if you can’t get this right, then I don’t know what to tell you. Café Eclectic is one to learn from! I think their coffee could be so awesome because they use Illy, but they also just make a great, balanced drink. Period. They have some fun seasonal drinks, too. I’m not sure if the employees get to create these drinks, but they are good. 2. The Scones. A-maz-ing. The cheddar bacon scone has small chunks of bacon and is just downright delicious. They will even offer to heat it up for you. If they do, take them up on this offer. Somehow, warming up the scone makes it ten times yummier. I’m not a huge fan of their other breakfast menu items(I wish they had scrambled eggs for their breakfast items instead of cutting up hard boiled ones… makes the sandwich fall apart), but everything I’ve tried behind the glass counter is good. 3. The Day-Olds. It’s so great that they have a little shelf to sell day-old stuff. Get their early enough so you can find some good stuff, like leftover donuts and breads. If you don’t mind a slight bit of hardness, it’s worth it to get some little treats for not a lot of money. 4. The Employees. Last but not least! The people here are so incredibly nice. If they don’t have a line that’s 8 people deep on a Saturday morning, they will give you a nice hello when you walk in(and most of the time, you will get a «have a good day!» when you’re walking out the door). It’s this type of customer service and great coffee that keeps me coming back! Oh, and it helps that I can walk there with my dog to grab a morning coffee on the weekend… get two things accomplished at once!
