Looks just about the same as I remember it 30 years ago, when I lived 6 blocks south on Vinton and ate there at least twice a week. If I ever get back, I’ll find time to drop in for burger and drink, I’m sure.

I had bacon cheese burger chili combo. It’s does not include a drink. With the drink it’s $ 9.59 Burger is fantastic almost one of the best in town. Chili was okay. They changed the type of fries they serve The new fries are more like McDonalds, they were definitely crispy but I like the old fries better. Bathrooms are relatively recently remodeled & look nice and clean Music was almost a little loud (late fifties, early 60s music) which I enjoy, but it could get on some people’s nerves. Service is really fast here and I appreciate that. Bottom line: Danvers is a little more expensive than normal fast food but the service and food quality usually make up for it. I would have given them four stars except for those new fries.

Pretty good tasting cheeseburgers for a fair price. The catfish was okay. Same with the potatoes and Mac&Cheese.

Embarrassed by employee who came to my table and loudly told my friend that he put too much on his potato and he wanted $ 2. This frequent customer will never return to the Danver’s on Union. Typically spend over $ 20 a visit to this restaurant and don’t appreciate being targeted for too much cheese on a potato.

Maybe it was just an off night, but I doubt it. Food seemed like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while — stale bun, dried out meat patty, limp fries. And you have to dress your own burger from the stupid toppings bar even though your order is to-go. Overall annoying experience for mediocre food — and it’s pricey for fast food. Go to Back Yard Burger instead.

This place has amazing service. We are from out of town and were looking for a nice diner-type place to sit down and chat with family late at night. We finally tried Danver’s and couldn’t tell from the outside what time they closed. My husband went in to ask and was told in one half hour, but was strongly encouraged to come in and dine. We got in and I wanted the salad bar, which looked delicious. My father-in-law simply wanted some coffee, as he was still full from lunch. When asked if they had coffee, the lady said no. Another lady heard us talking about it when we sat down and said she didn’t know why the other lady said that. She asked my father-in-law if he still wanted coffee and he said yes. She went to go make some promptly. Later, we were asked if we wanted some to-go bowls for our unlimited salad bar, since they were closing up. I thought that was a really nice gesture. The lady gave us bowls, bags, and offered more coffee. What started out as an okay experience turned into a memorable one. Thank you, Danver’s, for making our visit such a nice one!

Danver’s might be a local fast food restaurant, but there’s only 5 locations so it isn’t that chainy in the way of chain type restaurants. I love their breakfast biscuits! Warm, buttery, fall apart delicious. These little golden nuggets are only better when served up with a slice of ham and made to order egg. The hash browns are pretty stellar as well. They’re actually diced potatoes that are fried and they taste much more home made than most restaurant hash browns– especially those served in a brown bag through a window. Yes, they have a drive thru. Just beware– you’ll be sitting there for a bit as they make your sandwiches to order. Danver’s also has lunch and dinner options, though I’ve not tried anything but the breakfast menu. If you dine-in they have a salad bar as well.

I’ve been to this local chain(five restaurants) a few times. In a pinch while running errands out in Cordova, too. It’s an American food place, focused on ‘Southern’ food — don’t come looking for ribs — instead you’ll find blackened catfish, BBQ’ed shrimp, food baskets with deep-fried chicken strips with fries, roast beef sandwiches piled high, the never-ending salad bar, and even a good selection of breakfasts like biscuits, omelettes, and croissant sandwiches. The service is fast — it’s an ideal restaurant for those with kids — it’s very family and budget-friendly.
