Stopped in this afternoon, it was my first time in a GiGi’s. So I asked a simple question, «Is this a locally owned business or a Franchise?» And I received a very condescending lecture from the worker. And was informed her parents owned it. Well good thing they do, can’t see you working anywhere else. Also the cupcakes and bread was so dry I have to assume they were day old. Can’t recommend this place.

I don’t know who was working yesterday afternoon(9÷2÷2015), but she is really rude. I go to this Gigi’s almost every day and she has always acted that way to me, but yesterday was especially bad. She had a trainee, too, so I hope she isn’t encouraging her to be that way as well. I love Gigi’s cupcakes, and the other lady who works there is SUPER nice, but even as much as I love the cupcakes(and as much money as I spend there) I almost want to avoid coming in if she’s working.

If u love icing then this is the place for u. The cake itself is decent. I haven’t had a bad one yet. I have never been able to finish the icing. These are very elegant cupcakes. Great attention to detail.

This is the first time I have visited this location. I went in to grab a chocolate chip cookie cupcake that they have been advertising for«Chocolate Chip Cookie Day» for 2 dollars, which is a discount from the usual 3.25 their cupcakes usually cost. I haven’t ever tried this flavor. I got in line and immediately got skipped by another customer, even though the employee had seen me in line for a few minutes. I finally got to order my cupcake and was rang up quickly. I have to agree with other reviews, by saying that they cupcake part was too dry and for once I actually liked the flavor of the chocolate chip cookie dough icing better than the cupcake. Usually I am not able to eat all of the icing on a Gigi’s cupcake(because it is just too much and too sweet), but this time I was just eating the icing and not the cupcake. Definitely glad I didn’t pay full price for it.

Love this place! I never have a mediocre cupcake from here. Service with a smile and prompt.

Not sure what all the hype was about Gigi’s, this was my first visit, but they were simple sized cupcakes with the same size of icing as the cake. Maybe because I went at 3p that my cupcakes were not satisfying. The cake part was stale and dry and the topping just tasted like a lump of powdered sugar with no flavor. You know for $ 3.25 for a regular sized cupcake, it should be creamier and the cake should be moist, not like it came from a Betty Crocker box(no offense, Betty). Come on Gigi’s, I was really looking forward to you being the one to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Another awesome cupcake venue for the books! It’s my mission in life to determine the best cupcake places in the United States one bite at a time. While in Memphis a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday and we decided to visit a cupcake place. She wanted a celebratory cupcake and Gigi’s Cupcakes was the place. The space was small, but crowded. They had all types of flavors. At the time they had several Valentine’s Day cupcake flavors like Strawberry Kiss and Hot Kiss. They were also offering Peanut Butter, which looked great. I ended up ordering the«Midnight Magic» cupcake with Devils food cake with dark chocolate chips topped with a chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate chips. There is no inside dining area. You can strictly pick up your cupcakes to-go. I don’t have a problem with that. I always like to-go food. They also had mini cupcakes, which is good. I love mini cupcakes, they oddly make me feel healthy. This is a great place to go to if you are in Memphis. They have several locations throughout the country. It’s a franchise, but they taste good like a local bakery.

It’s no secret. I’m a cupcake-a-holic and a Muddy’s girl through and through. But, being a cupcake freak means I won’t ever turn one down and Gigi’s is no exception to that rule. Gigi’s is this perfectly pink and girlie shop that makes my heart happy when I enter through the doors. As if that isn’t enough, their cupcakes are honest to goodness, real life, edible works of art. Say what you will, this cupcake chain has it going on when it comes to decorating these little goodies. They are gorgeous, people! In fact, I’m almost saddened when I eat one cuz you really just don’t want to ruin it. Well, that and the fact that they never taste as good as they look. Yes, I said it. The 4 stars for Gigi’s is purely for decoration and decoration only. These cupcakes might be adorable, but the frosting to cake ratio is just way off and I end up scooping off half of it before I can eat it. Yes, I still come here and purchase cupcakes on occasion. My mother is a huge fan and she gets a dozen for most holidays. She’s the reason I got so excited when they opened this Midtown location. The staff is friendly, the store front sickeningly cute just like all the others and I’m glad I can drive 2 minutes now instead of 20 to pick up a dozen on the rare occasion that I find myself needing them. I can’t hate Gigi’s– I just can’t love them either.
