Huey’s Downtown

I ordered little trio sliders. I was expecting hand patted little burgers on small slider buns. I received a hamburger patty that I think was frozen previously and definitely not hand patted. It had a sponge like consistency. The consistency reminded me of Banquet frozen sausage links. The sliders were served on sister shubert like rolls. I was disappointed to say the least. The Huey burger is so good I expected the same quality in the little trio sliders, especially since they were $ 8.50…lesson learned.

I love the vegetarian and pescatarian selections! You can replace a black bean burger or veggies burger with any of the regular burger selections. The price for most burgers run between $ 6.75−9.75. Fries are extra– I think 2.15 for a basket — which I share because due large portion. Donnie loves the shrimp po-​boy – it’s his fave dish there. Salads with are good. I don’t care for the salmon — they over cook it.
Wait staff is great, manager walks around and makes sure ever is good. It’s also fun to hang out and drink a beer. Through your tooth picks up into ceiling, read all the writing on the walls. Music is a good mix of disco, 70’s and 80’s Rock, jazz and blues.

This place was so much fun! This was our first stop on our first night in Memphis. It was busy and we had to wait for about 20 minutes but it was well worth the wait. The food is awesome and on Sunday’s they have live bands. Great selection of beer and the feel of this place is casual and laid back.

Great spot downtown for a good meal with great service! We were looking to watch a basketball game and they accommodated us turning one of the TVs to the game we wanted and then didn’t mind us watching the whole game. The salmon and veggies was delicious! And their special Bloody Mary is amazing. Being a sharpie so you can leave your mark as they allow worrying on practically every surface in the place.

Stopped by for a late lunch, cold beer, and a little college football. The tuna steak salad was recommended, and it did not disappoint. The tuna was an acceptable portion, and properly cooked. That salad really hits the spot. The cold beer was dead on, and the bowl game (MSU v NC State) was on every TV. Great atmosphere, I’ll be back.

I lucked out here, this was my first time in Memphis and the first restaurant we ate at. This was easily the best restaurant and had the best band we heard while here. I can’t remember the last time I had more fun on a Sunday night.
This place is a burger joint. After a short wait, we were sat near the stage right about the time the band, Gery Escoe & the Atomic Dance Machine, we’re starting up. The band was great and the night we saw them they had the keyboard player from the 60/​70s band the Bar-​Kays sitting in.
The food was great; I had the BLT with home-​made pimento cheese and my girl a bacon burger. They had a full bar available but we stuck to local brews. The best beer was Ghost River Golden Ale but all were tasty. Service here was accurate and fast, while our waitress wasn’t overly friendly she was informative and polite.
I highly recommend this place based on my experience. When in Memphis I will definitely return.

I had the Bluez 57 burger and it was good. Pretty good beer selection. Nothing fancy here, but the place has character. Bottom line is, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go again, but I can’t complain about anything.

If your from San Diego and wondering if this place can hang with our local legends. It does. Thick juicy seasoned patty was the best part Forsure! Fresh bun is bomb. Onion rings are Legit.
They have lots of different styles of burgers. I personally like to judge always on then classic.
Good local craft beer selection as well!

Absolutely fantastic! Superb burgers, relaxed atmosphere. Best service. Came back twice for the food and the people. Try the Tennessee tea for an alcoholic treat. Very reasonably priced. Love this place!

Business dinner with a mixed crowd. Awesome beer and burger joint. Plastic utensils and basket kind of joint. The steak fries are big and fresh. Fish is on the menu…
Go for the burger. We ended up having the steak on a stick as a desert!

This place is GREAT! On vacation & was looking for a good burger, beer, & ballgame… Couldn’t have asked for more!
Fried Pickles (chips not spears) were hot & quick. Burgers were simple, unpretentious, and delish! Friendly staff & service… And Moscow Mule made perfectly!

I have been a fan of Huey’s for many years but with that being said, the downtown location I have not frequented. I ate at the bar and the service was attentive and the staff was fun and chatty. I took advantage of the beer specials along with having a tasty burger not a single disappointment to be had. I know when it gets crowded it can be very hectic and service suffers but this visit was top notch. If your using Unilocal to find a place well you found it.

Sports games were on but muted. Beer selection was decent but we’ve seen better. Been better places for prices. Okay spot but better choices in the area.

Fabulous sliders. A little to hard on the AC, really freezing inside but otherwise nice place.

Hueys is growing on me. Every time I go back my reviews are getting better and better. I’ve gotten to the point where I like everything I have (minus the chili on the cheese fries, ack, big mistake! It’s just too wet for the fries and they end up swimming in juice). I’ve always loved the atmosphere there, and the service has gotten tremendouly better at each location.

We arrived into Memphis late and needed a place to grab a bite. It was here or the TGi Fridays in the hotel. I opted for this and I wasn’t disappointed. The place isn’t the cleanest but ultimately it was kid friendly and they had a band playing which was a nice break from the norm for us.
I should highlight that they had a great kids menu and honestly after a long trip on the road (2000+ miles) this was the first meal our kids really devoured. Normally I would not be all that excited about the kids getting Kraft Mac and Cheese, but that’s what the kids needed! They also got the chicken strips and after hearing my son complain about McDonalds chicken strips twice on this trip they went over well, with him even saying «yum!» «These are really good!»

Wow! What a great first impression. My only real complaint is that the first bathroom stall I went in didn’t have a working lock. Other than that everything was perfect. I looked on Unilocal before getting there and saw the A1 burger which looked amazing so I knew what to be on the lookout for. When I saw on the menu that it had a sourdough bun I was worried but I asked the waitress if I could get a different kind it was no problem! And boy was it was tasty! The A1 was a little different than what I was used to (bbq) but I thought it might be strange to ask for a different kind of sauce on an «A1» burger. It was yummy nonetheless and really filled me up! The onion strings on it were fantastic. Our waitress was great. She told us the specials and like I said, accommodated to out ‘special’ requests. She brought us out a pitcher of Dr. Pepper since that what we were all drinking when we needed refills which was really nice! And at the end of the meal she brought us 3 clean straws (there was a tip in the menu that dry straws work better) to try and shoot the tooth picks into the ceiling. I even got one to stick! I can’t wait to visit Huey’s again.

Most affordable grub downtown Memphis. Food and atmosphere are great. Finally found the Ghost River Midnight Magic brew here .
Make sure to save room for the rock slide desert.

Vielleicht der bester Burger den ich je gegessen habe. Der Speck und die Zwiebeln waren unbeschreiblich gut. Service war schnell und gut. Atmosphäre war auch sehr gut und das Zahnstocher an die Decke schießen war lustig.
