Here in Memphis on business. Pretty good meal here last night. Really nothing to complain about or necessarily rave about either. One complaint… the beer glass had a nasty chip in the rim right near where your mouth goes. Fortunately, I didn’t notice it till late. The Flan was pretty good. I’d suggest it but not go out your way to get here. The server girls were nice.

Great authentic food. Prices are very cheap. You can’t get a bad meal here. Chips and salsa are fresh and tasty. Great drink specials too. A must for Mexican food in Memphis.

The food is great and they give you plenty of it! But they don’t always understand you when you order to go.

I’ll confidently say that this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Memphis! I would say their milanesa torta is their specialty. I recommend it! Also, the prices are inexpensive compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The only reason I give four stars and not five is that sometimes service can be slow. Other than that, it’s a great place for lunch!

Okay so I am a total package kind of girl and the fifth star is missing because; obviously something was missing from the package. I will start with the food because, lets just be honest that’s why you’re reading! The food, was awesome I had the lunch burrito ½ chicken and ½ steak… it doesn’t come that way I ordered it that way. However it was heavenly, my burrito reached me at the perfect temperature and looked very appetizing(sorry I have no picture, I was quite hungry). It was only 5.25 but it was a great size! It had shredded chicken, chopped steak, tomato, lettuce, sour cream, and avocado(I added cheese and refried beans… honestly I don’t know why it wouldn’t have it to begin with). My friend requested extra spicy salsa and they brought her this green creamy avocado like mixture OMG… please explain to me why they don’t have that at every Mexican restaurant because it was everything!!! In short I had an awesome food experience and will definitely go back to try anything I can pour that heavanly sauce over. Now, on to that missing star… the service was subpar, it took a while for my food to come, however they were kind of busy and our waitress did not do follow up well, maybe we will have a better server next time.

Not bad, not bad at all. I came here on break from work and had the chicken quesadilla. It was really good but a lot smaller than I typically see at Mexican restaurants so they lost a couple points for that. I’ll definitely return with my coworkers here so I’ll be able to try some other options and give a more detailed review. Also, for your information, they do serve chips and salsa to all the guests.

So first I ordered Los Flautas o Carne and they were out of the carne steak so then I ordered a chimichanga which was a total disappointment… on the menu it stated chunks of beef but what I got was more like ground turkey along with beans and potatoes… Who puts potatoes in a chimichanga? And the salsa was too salty. So needless to say… Today was my first and last visit. Also I asked for my check 10 minutes ago and the waitress has still not brought it to me. I can see her standing behind a counter reading a menu and talking to 2 other servers. This is ridiculousness!

This is a gem in south Memphis. The staff is very good and the food comes quick and is in generous portions. I had the Carne Asada and was stuffed with the portions served. As I always expect the clientele are south of the border and that says good news for the food.

Come one, com-al-es! See what I did there? Los Comales actually means the griddles, but I can’t resist a good cheesy Spanglish pun. My husband and I are a little bit obsessed with this place. Hands down best chips and salsa, for one thing. Better than that place everyone swears by that starts with a Las and ends with a Delicias. Yeah, I said it. They have a trio of salsas that are super spicy and very flavorful. If you’re not into spicy food, they do have a good tomato based salsa as well. I should mention that a couple times we had to request the spicy trio, which my husband thought was because he’s a gringo in a restaurant with mostly Latino patrons. He was a little miffed but he quickly forgot about it once the spicy salsa hit his lips. ;) So far our favorite items here are the al pastor tacos and burritos. Al pastor is a somewhat spicy marinated and grilled pork, if you’re not familiar with it. I had the huevos con chorizo today from the lunch menu which was very good and not greasy. My husband had the carnitas which was perfectly browned on the edges and for an interesting twist was lightly seasoned with a dry rub and served with pico de gallo. This place is not fancy, but it does have a sit-down restaurant feel, as opposed to some of the other yummy Mexican places on Summer that are a lot more casual. The food is great, the service has been good every time, and it’s a good value. If you haven’t checked out Los Comales yet, it’s definitely worth a try.

Perhaps I am biased, as we are from Los Angeles, home of some great Mexican food, but we did not love this place. There was nothing bad about this restaurant, there just wasn’t anything spectacularly good about it either. We ordered chicken and shrimp tacos, a quesadilla, and fajitas. There were all decent, but basic. The best thing by far was the chips and salsa. The salsa is a bit runny to use as a dip for chips, but was flavorful. The staff is friendly, and the food was relatively quick.

Was in town for a few weeks and had the opportunity to eat here multiple times and was never disappointed. The service was quick and the food is of great quality! Everyone cares that you get a quality meal at a great price. 5 stars all around. Will definitely eat here if I’m in Memphis again.

Upon arrival, I was hopeful when seeing that most patrons were of Latin descent… for the most part. Assuming the food might be a bit more authentic, I tried the tongue and tripe gorditas. The CORN tortillas were crispy yet soft and both fillings were quite… well…filling. They make there own sauces that come in a three-choice caddy. Two are green salsas with the third as a creamy avocado and sour cream sauce. Insult to injury! My sever was more than delightful, she was attentive and patiernt. Muchas gracias a todos!

Best tacos I have eaten since moving back to Memphis. Of course there are a handful of good Mexican restaurants in town, but these tacos actually take me back to Mexico. El pastor are my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Order avocado on the side and the bring you an entire sliced avocado. Delicious! The only down side is that they don’t have a liquor license, so no Margaritas. They have good beer specials though. Basically if you are looking for good tacos, now you know were to go. I really wanted to give it 5, but not having margaritas was clutch.
