I needed a costume in a crunch this Halloween and Mr. Lincolns delivered! Thanks to our community manager, Joelle, for steering me here! When I came in to rent a costume I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted. The customer service they offered was amazing! The lady who worked there(Susan maybe?) showed me so many costumes and got me set up in a dressing room. I tried on so many things, yet her patience and enthusiasm never wavered — even though it was just a couple of days before Halloween and she was likely in her busiest of days. I felt like the service I received was so personal. I landed on a costume and was excited to hear that they were renting for the week for the normal price of a day! Which made a little bit of a pricey rental extremely affordable since I got to wear it to multiple Halloween parties! I did dread returning the costume because I anticipated an after Halloween rush of people. That was not the case, however; when I pulled up to the shoppe there was a well organized set up out on the lawn where customers could drop off their costumes. Returning seriously took less then 5 minutes!!! It is absolutely amazing that we have such an accessible costume shop here in Memphis. I will definitely be more open to costume parties in the future now that I know we have such a wonderful costume rental shoppe available in the area!

There’s nothing more awesome than a business that offers great products, has a great selection and has a smooth operation. So… I had an unexpected event and one hour to get ready for it. I arrived at Mr. Lincoln’s five minutes before closing time and the owner was so gracious and kind. He didn’t make me feel rushed. I told him what I needed and he pulled several pieces. He suggested one costume over all the others and I ended up choosing that one. He then offered incredible accessories to bring my look together. I was out of there in 20 minutes. This is THE place to go for any and all dress-up events!

I like Mr. Lincoln’s. I have used them a few times over the years, and have never had a negative experience. They have a crazy amount of costumes to choose from. I remember my first experience here was when I was a senior in high school(2003 – 2004), and I needed a southern belle hoop dress for my then boyfriend’s frat ball. We were going on a steam boat with dinner and the whole 9. The theme being the Old South, I envisioned myself looking like a cuter version of Scarlett O’Hara. When I rolled in to Mr. Lincoln’s, they had everything I needed! I walked out with a big old scarlet red and black hoop dress. The hoop was the most difficult thing to maneuvering around in, but I remember them showing me on how to assemble it and hope to get around without trouble. Since that first initial visit, I have come here and used a flapper costume circa 2009, a masquerade ball in 2011, 2012, and 2013. They’ve always come in handy and are reasonably priced. The costumes are well put together and not dingy. I’d recommend them for sure, and you can’t find many other places like this with quality in Memphis.

I’m on a plane headed to Atlanta for a Great Gatsby New Year Party as we speak. I bought my ticket two days ago because this was a last minute thing. And that is when I learned that people were actually dressing up… like legit costumes. What is a girl to do in only 36 hours? 1. Start a talk thread 2. Take Richard D’s advice and check out Mr. Lincoln’s Costume Shoppe I called ahead since I was going Monday, December 30th and was worried they might be closed due to the holidays. Thankfully, they were open. I’ve driven past this place a million times and it has been bookmarked for years now. I don’t typically like wearing clothes that other people have worn(it’s ok, you can judge me) but I told myself to put on my big girl panties and suck it up. I was instantly relieved to see that all the costumes were still in their dry cleaning bags — whew! My germaphobia let out a giant sigh of relief. There was a huge selection of 20’s/flapper dresses for me to pick from and I probably tried on 10 or so dresses — 4 of which were absolutely dynamite and quality material(not flimsy like you get at Party City). I chose my gold, sparkly dress and then was helped with accessories — a cute, matching feathered headband and long gloves. All for $ 49 and I don’t have to return it until Friday! This place is a hidden gem(ok, maybe not hidden… but I’m a newbie to the place) and I can’t wait to start using them more often!

I’ve driven past this costume shop, housed in a, well, house, and had been curious to check it out, but hesitant with no real reason. And, it’s a interesting little place. Very retro, kind of like climbing into your parents’ well-organized attic. It’s filled with lots of different styles of costumes, hats, and wigs. The staff is friendly and helpful, and lets you peer around without hovering. The costumes do look a bit dated, but it’s all in good fun and definitely a place worth checking out. The costumes range from affordable to pricey, and the only downside is that if you’re quite petite, I didn’t see a big selection. However, give it a whirl, you may find something that tickles your fancy.
