Outback Steakhouse

We have been here before and sometimes the conditions were less than satisfactory. Today, I have to say, was quite different. If you haven’t been in a while, I suggest you give them another try. They have really stepped up their game in food and customer service. You can tell the managers care about your experience. I went in hungry and left happy.

We went for New Years Eve and no wait! Can’t believe it! Server was wonderful, food was great, even the steak was cooked perfect (and we can be particular about that). Only small complaints were it seemed a bit chilly and the music was terrible, but no big deal.

My wife and I have been to Outback a number of times and have had wonderful steak. This year, we needed a place to eat on Christmas Eve (and what’s a more traditional for Christmas Eve dinner than steak? — Just kidding). We do not normally eat out on Christmas Eve, but this year we decided to go to Outback. We were greeted by gracious staff who made us feel welcomed. Oh, and the steak was FABULOUS as well.
My wife truly enjoyed every bite of her Filet. I chose the Smoky Bacon Bourbon Ribeye (bone-​in Natural Cut Ribeye) and it was cooked to perfection. Each bite exploded with a blend of fantastic bone-​in Ribeye flavor that was only enhanced by the sweet Bourbon sauce and smoked bacon.
Have I got your attention yet? Well, the steak was so large I had trouble getting the baked potato on the plate. Now large was not a problem because the steak was loaded with flavor — the kind that lingers in your mouth, and your mind, as you enjoy it.
I could go on, but you simply must experience one of these Smoky Bacon Bourbon Ribeye steaks to appreciate it! You owe it to yourself.

So, all the reviews said try the wings and I did… They were freaking amazing! They were the star of our meal and next time I will just order those and some soup or salad. Absolutely scrumptious. The Alice Chicken with bacon, mushrooms, and cheese is to die for. I love the atmosphere and our waiter rocked!

First time ever going to an Outback Steakhouse. I see I haven’t been missing anything. When it comes to these types of chain steakhouses, Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s are the best. Where to begin, the steak was probably the worst one I’ve ever had. The potato was the size of a toilet paper roll without the paper. That amazing house salad had lettuce only. I felt even worse for my girl. Her chicken tenders were pathetic. I honestly believe McDonald’s has better tenders. Her Caesar salad had little to no lettuce on it, 3 – 4 croutons, and little to no cheese. For the money I paid, I expected at least a half decent meal. I won’t be returning here again and would advise you to skip this place.

Why do I have to be bombarded with loud music that I do not like? I ask manager to turn down. He declined. Gues he is not interested in keeping me as a customer.

We recently visited the Union Ave store in Memphis, on a Friday. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and delicious. We sat at the bar as there was a slight wait and we were hungry. The service was excellent and very prompt. Outback is obviously trying very hard to up their game with the quality of their product. We will be returning soon. This is a very good Steak at a good price place.

This restaurant has good food, served in a timely manner, and with a casual atmosphere. Service is excellent. Recently I was there and thought I was ordering a porterhouse steak, but it was a porterhouse pork chop — I had misread the menu. The manager promptly took back the pork chop and replaced it with a steak of my choice. The appetizers are good, especially the blooming onion and shrimp.

But the bartender with the beard was a pro.
I sat at the bar .
I noticed a lot of people in the waiting room but a lot of empty tables in the dining room.
The chop salad with blue cheese crumbles vinaigrette was great.
Grilled shrimp appetizer was lukewarm but its smokey flavor more than made up for it.
We had the Porterhouse. The fillet side was small but wonderful but the other side was tough.
The baked potato was the fluffiest I’ve ever had.

We were here the other day and they were not busy at time. Our meals were served before the soup and salad and the appetizer was served halfway through the meal. It wasn’t an over sight on waitress, she kept telling us it would be right now. Didn’t even want it at that point. There were no apologies at all.

I had the outback special. The steak was cooked to perfection! The baked potato was slightly overcooked. They could do a better job and refilling your drinks though. It was kinda loud in here too. They did try to sit us at a high table sitting on stools. Um yeah, not cool at all. The chairs have you sitting so high off thw ground I had to hop up to get on it. Then I quickly told them I was uncomfortable. The chairs were pretty wobbly. I was scared to move. They had no problem and quickly found us a booth.

They did prepare a few items at our table very well but the rest were not up to their standards. The service was absolutely horrendous however – we were with my grandmother who walks with a cane very slowly and they made her climb up into a booth by the bar, then the server forgot so many things about our order, walked off while we were making our order randomly mid-​sentence, and then blamed it on everyone but himself. The smoothies we ordered took an hour to come out, as did the food – my fish was undercooked but at that point I just didn’t want to worry about it haha. The manager decided to send back the calamari himself because it was so overcooked and then the next one was literally the worst I’ve had which is crazy to say cause calamari is so good usually. The manager knew of our problems but didn’t even apologize. At the end, they snatched my grandmother’s food as she was still reaching for it to continue eating, lol, and didn’t ask if she was done with it…

I love the bread! The servers are nice! Shrimps on the barbee are the best! I tried the lobster tacos and I can say I’m impressed with their new menu! They are delicious! The waitress guided us through the menu and we didn’t have very long before our food was out to us! I’d have to say you can’t go wrong here!

Your standard corporate restaurant. You win some, you loose some. The manager makes sure he does his table talk, the waiters don’t have a long introduction spiel like other places, so that’s a plus. Overall, I’m rarely disappointed with this location and the delivery of their food and service.

Major FAIL, Outback!
By the time date and got back to my place, we were both feeling sick. Not sure what was to blame, but my money’s on the BBQ short rib nachos. Looked great in the pic, but actual result was not. Meat was tasty, but hardly any of it, and cheese was goopy processed stuff. Chips tasted like rally’s French fries (aka old grease). For dinner, my $ 22 steak was supposed to be «wood fired and lightly seasoned,» but was SO SO salty. And unevenly cooked. Loaded baked potato was dry and mealy, and I’m a person that adores baked potatoes. Fries were too seasoned and, again, reminiscent of old grease.
Best part of meal was my mini milkshake. My date had margaritas, steak, shrimp, and asparagus.
For what was a $ 60-​plus meal, it would have been a poor experience, even if we HADN’T felt sick afterwards! Will NOT be back!

Atmosphere has changed since last time I went, which is a good thing… great customer service and faster food service! Lunchtime so time wait was pretty good, straight in and seated.

I am always satisfied with the food at Outback! We recently had a girl named Kara as our server. She was absolutely delightful! Very friendly, and brought out our food/​drink orders in perfect timing too. She always remembered to check on us as well.
We love the new atmosphere as well. The interior and staff apparel now match the price/​quality of the food. Outback used to be a place where you alkyd into an almost-​tacky place where the staff wore bright shirts with pins and buttons on their shirts, paying an average-​high price for food. However, the improved look gave Outback the «facelift» that it needed!

Visited 11−25−12; Enjoyed the lamb chops [cooked medium] which were delicious. They came with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. I also had a crisp house salad on the side. Love the bushman [honey wheat] bread they serve!
I highly recommend this place for steaks and lamb.
Has TV’s galore — great environment for game watching.
