I am visiting Mendocino and was looking for a good latte. I read several reviews that said that Moody’s was, well,… moody. I decided to try it out anyways as they had me at organic coffee! I did not not find them to be rude at all. In fact they were very friendly and polite. There was a nice quiet little room separate from the ordering area where my husband and I sat by a window watching the rain and sipping on our lattes. Their coffee was great and I will def go back next time I’m in town.

Rude staff and expensive, so-so coffee. Crappy service even for a hipster place. Stay away if you value your time and money.

I went to this place when I visited Mendocino for one day. The coffee was ok, bagels were average, not enough tables inside. They charged my credit card twice. I called — they said they would take care of the issue and the owner would call me. The owner never called, the issue did not get resolved. Check your statements!

what a cool spot for coffee and it didn’t hurt the coffee was good as well. ill admit we stopped cause the wife is a murder she wrote fan. so it was nice to see jessica fletcher fictional house and the town they used for cabot cove. after walking around we saw why they chose it, there is a very maine-like feel and look in mendocino.

Really? You’re going to be moody at Moody’s? Watery coffee served up with a frown. But the new kid was nice. Toilets not working but wifi good.

This is my go-to coffee joint in Mendo. I love the folks who work here. Just surly enough to let you know that they’re busy, they’re local, and they’re pros. Just leave them alone, Touristas, and let them make your drink. STFU and go enjoy it… somewhere else. I’ll take that table outside. now. Ahh… The joys of being a local. :)

Great vibes! Fast service. We got an iced spicy chai and it’s the best chai I’ve ever had. We also got a mocha frappé which is amazing. Their pastries look incredible. They have chocolate dipped shortbread cookies and lava see cookies and huge brownies. Good prices too! Highly recommend. :)

Terrible service. Inconsistent mixing of beverages. You get the feeling the employees are neglected or are forced to work. Very sad. :(

Most of their drinks are overpriced and we waited 15 minutes for a Yerba mate when all they had to do was pour it. Go up the street to good life instead.

The apple cider is my all time favorite!!! I never miss the opportunity to stop by here when I am in town. Would love to give 5 stars but the cashier wasn’t that nice, but who knows she was busy. I may have just caught her at a bad time !!! All in all I will always recommend this place!

We only purchased coffee from here, and wish we had tried the bagels and other baked goods. We live in Oakland, and found it interesting to note that the coffee served is from Peerless which is three blocks from us, but we haven’t tried it here. We now want to frequent Peerless, lovely cup of coffee. Servers not that friendly nor engaging, but you can’t win them all!

We found this to be the ONLY place to get our coffee for an early riser since they open at 6 am. His latte and my mocha were prepared as we asked and were delicious. Price is the same as most any other similar establishment. No line for us since it was early and they went right to making our order. I think the only thing I would suggest is that the staff try to smile a little more. The two women on Friday and the two fellas on Saturday didn’t make much effort in that department and a nice smile in the morning plus coffee makes everyone happy. We’d go here again in a heartbeat.

Always come here while in Mendocino Village. Nice staff and good coffee. The treats are delicious, too. Love sitting outside with our cappuccino and latte and people watch. Also, dog watch, my husband’s favorite thing since we don’t have a dog anymore. Location is great.

Geez… What’s with the grumpy guy with the bad attitude at the register? Is that where the café name Moody came from? Fortunately there was a nice lady making delicious coffee.

Giving this place three stars because I actually didn’t try any of their drinks. This was the first place we tried when we got to Mendocino and just wanted some quick food fast! Ordered the quiche which really was not good. I can’t remember where it was made but it was very underwhelming and was $ 5 for a slice. They have free wifi if you purchase something otherwise it’s $ 2.

It was mine and my friend’s first full day in Mendo and we both wanted some coffee before we perused the shops. I had recalled this coffee shop the last time I was here so we stopped in. The inside is quite small with very little room to wait for your drink to be done but we made due. The barista who helped us was super nice and made good use of our time with friendly conversation while whipping up the coffees we ordered in a timely manner. I must say though that the fly situation inside that place was quite annoying as I’m sure they were after some of the sticky overspill I noticed on the«condiment» counter. Nonetheless after many a shooing, our drinks came up pretty quickly and we were on our way to an outside table. The café tables outside are few but nice to take a load off and enjoy your beverage. People watching is a must in this little hamlet made up of tourists and locals alike. The blended coffee I ordered was good, right there in the same column as Starbucks I’d say which for serious coffee drinkers would equate to swill water sadly. I didn’t mind the middle-of-the-pack quality honestly for this being the village’s only true coffee house. Overall it was good however something tells me by the time I come back I’ll either have sworn off coffee or will have settled on a higher cloud.

Again, plus one star for super nice people in Mendocino. Again, I have high standards that prob reflect more on myself than Moody’s, but I’ve truly had much better café experiences. Warning: explicit implications in this paragraph. I walked into this organic hippy café, and I like me some organic hippy cafes, and ordered a large coffee for here, and a Super Colon Blow brand extra fiber bran muffin. I hyperbolize, but, yeah, I was gonna want to use their facilities… I spotted a sign, «Bathroom closed for lack of water.» The internet café part has a strong wifi signal, free with purchase, 2 dolla without. Why all the without, and the lack of water? Well this place is stop número uno for the semi-homeless, beach bum, scrubby dog owning, hostel hang out hippies, who happily trade a pungent unwashed odor for some free internet. The art was cool! The muffin fresh, they offered light roast organic coffee, yes! Most importantly, the people were super nice. Most notably, my wife picked me up there, and had to wait outside because the B.O. was too strong.

Extremely good Latte, came out a little hot, but ok for my long trip up north. 4 shots of espresso, oh yeah, strong but still tasteful and delicious. Best coffee in the area!
