Only one star because I had to provide a rating. Tried to go to the Mendota Heights location at 8pm tonight, website says they are open until 10 and the business doors say 8:30. Either way the doors were locked when we got there and the two employees just stared at us as though they had no idea what to do… Frustrating. Won’t be back.

You are going to pay more than if you go to DQ or Izzy’s or any other typical ice cream shop, but it is so worth it. I don’t even bother trying to make my own. Coldstone gets it. They know what flavors work, so going with their canned suggestions is a good idea. This is a place to hit up on an occasional basis. Your pocketbook isn’t going to be able to handle this on a couple-time-a-week basis, but it is perfect for a one-in-a-while.

Peanut Butter Cup Perfection is perfect! Enough Reeses chunks and thick chocolate ice cream. Friendly enough staff. I enjoy the open-air mall it is located in too.

It’s ok, but not in a bad way. I’m not into over priced ice cream. A good variety of cakes, even ice cream cupcakes. I had a coupon for a shake, it was as blended as it gets. I like a little chunkiness in shakes. They have a healthy selection. I don’t see all those calories as good for your health. The usual foolish flavors.

Stopped in here after work to pick up a little desert cake for a dinner party. It was perfect. I asked for a cake for three people(My husband gave up sugar over a year ago) and they told me the petite cake is perfect for 3 – 4 people. This time of year when food is on a conveyor belt going straight to your gullet it’s nice to be able to buy a little something something instead of a massive showstopping cow of a desert that people groan under the weight of. Not that they don’t sell those there too — The cake I bought came in 4 sizes — petite, small, medium, and large. The cake itself was fabulous. Chocolate truffle ice cream cake wrapped in a chocolate genache with a raspberry on top. We paired it with a very sweet desert wine and it was perfect. The shop was very quite and they just had one person helping customers. I am guessing that December in Minnesota is not a busy time for ice cream shops in general. I am really glad i thought to check them out though. Ice cream cake may sound kind of crazy when it’s –8 before the wind chill factor — but after a heavy meal it was just the perfect thing. I’ll be back!
