Ordered take-out pizza the other week and it was decent. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Probably will stop in again to give it another try.

I’m bummed. This was my favorite pizza joint and the help in the kitchen sucks. Don’t get me wrong, the sauce is still tops and the crust is that Minnesota classic thin crust cut in squares. But the people taking calls and making up the pizza SUCK. So we ordered a vegetarian with spinach(had to ask if they had it), onions, peppers, artichoke(had to ask if they had it, didn’t have) and we basically got a mushroom and onion pizza. The delivery and everything else was timely as usual but sheesh, when you get charged for extra toppings, you want those toppings.

I am writing this having just enjoyed a fine banana pepper and mushroom pizza, delivered piping hot. This was a particularly fine example of Classic’s thin crust pizzas – a crispy base, thick well seasoned sauce, just the right amount of cheese. Nice! As with all delivery pizzas, there can be some quality variance, and I have had the occasional less than stellar effort. Still, for delivery pizza Classic is a solid, dependable choice, far preferable and much more consistent than the likes of Davannis(last two delivered cold), Dominos(cardboard), Green Mill(greasy), etc. Classic has some additional bonuses: in the summer, we walk up here for generous hand dipped cones of Bridgeman’s ice cream. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. And the menu boasts some sandwiches and other choices(BBQ ribs?) that sound good but are to date untried by me. Those who choose to eat in can do so outside in the summer as well. Classic!
