From the time we arrived to the time we left, the service was amazing. The food was wonderful. Even better than we imagined. They went above and beyond. We let them know one of our party had a food allergy and not only did they make sure the food didn’t contain any of the allergens, they double checked every item brought out to us and informed us which items had the allergens. Definitely would come here again!

We’ve tried multiple items from the menu and have never been disappointed. It’s a little hole in the wall that has never been busy when we go in. I don’t know why because the food is delicious!.. It’s one of our new favorite spots! And all the staff and nice and friendly

Found this place on Unilocal and SOGLAD I DID! My husband and I have been here twice now and we loved it every time! The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the prices are super fair! We’ve tried the chicken fajitas, the beef fajitas and Greek chicken salad and all three were amazing! The chicken is superbly moist and the flavor are on point! The sweet waitress even brought us a free appetizer each time and THAT was delicious too! They’ve got loyal customers in us for life!

Absolutely delicious food! The owner is a sweetheart and has much pride in her restaurant. We came here on mother’s day. We had a huge party and they had no problem accommodating us. The owner goes above and beyond in quality of food and service provided. We will be visiting Merna’s more often.

Great food, friendly service. Only reason they don’t Get five stars is service can be slow at times. Cool specials and fun themed nights as well, highly recommend, just be prepared to spend about an hour and a half.

They serve«Mediterranean foods» which is specifically Egyptian, which is very similar to Greek. Very good food. I ordered vegetarian and everything was perfect. Very tasty. Friendly family-owned business. Note: The cost for dinner for two with a couple of drinks and desert can easily exceed $ 70.

I ate at MERNAS’ MEDITERRANEANCAFE&GRILL tonight for the very first time, and was very pleased with my Mediterranean Sampler plate. Everything was so tasty. The Hummus and Dolmas were so flavorful, and of course, I always love the Yogurt with Dill and Cucumbers. I love the fact that there was Middle Eastern music playing in the background too, and I was told that there are special evenings when there will be actual Belly Dancers performing here, so this definitely sounds like THEPLACE to enjoy a good meal and a fun evening. I absolutely plan to become a fairly regular customer here. Even the desserts are right up my alley too since I’m not a cake or pasty person all that much, but I do love my frozen treats. On the dessert menu I saw mostly all Gelato and Sorbets.. and even though I did not see the usual Baklava, I’m very sure it is available here too. The owner was amazingly wonderful by going out of her way to let us eat here even though they were planning to close early this evening because they were setting up for a Wedding party the next day. I call that going above and beyond for a customer. Since I was being treated by my friend to a birthday dinner, and this seemed to be the only restaurant in Menifee that I wanted to dine at. When my friend explained that it was for my birthday, the owner herself graciously welcomed us inside and we had an excellent meal. Thank you MERNAS” MEDITERRANEANCAFE&GRILL for a very delicious birthday dinner. I will be returning often, guaranteed.

First time here, I was in the area looking for a place to grab lunch and found them via Unilocal. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I got the chicken kebab salad, and it came with pita that tasted freshly made. SO much food for ten bucks, and it was delicious. The waitress and busboy were really on top of things, too, and very nice!

Hands down the best breakfast I have had in awhile. Amazing food, huge portions and impeccable service. Biscuit and gravy sauce was out of this world. Can’t wait to come back for lunch and dinner!

First time here and would happily return… Came in for breakfast(Sunday morning) with my son and husband. We all had different breakfast plates but each were happy about their meal. Quality of food was great. Steak and Eggs with a nice juicy cut, not the usual small thin, dry cut you get at most places for breakfast. The Country Breakfast special was a good size with ample country gravy. Belgian Waffle was also good. Customer service was fantastic. The lady that served us was very relaxed and genuinely nice and checked on us often. The place serves Mediterranean food so try them out for lunch or dinner if you can’t make it for breakfast. I haven’t tried their specialties but I will go back to post an update after. If you haven’t been by, stop in and try them out. Nice to have a diner type establishment with great food and service nearby.

The food was great and the service was incredible! The young woman that took care of us really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and spent a lot of extra time to make our 4 year old had a memorable experience. We will be back.

Ok. Tried this place for the first time. Ordered something they were out of. The server was extremely apologetic… I ordered the next item and it was the second of the two things they were out of. So I ordered breakfast for dinner. Chicken fried steak and eggs. I am very picky about my CFS… Theirs is as another reviewer said… awesome… My wife ordered the Ribeye Steak. I did not because I thought it would be small since it was under $ 20… the Fred Flintstone slab of beef she was given had my mouth watering. It was delicious… WHAT?! Of course I stole a taste… it is a husbands solemn duty to ensure his loving wife’s food is good enough for her consumption!!! Give the place a try. Tell them Curtis sent you. They say great and wonder who the heck Curtis is…

Wow, this is NOT like the predecessor Boston Billie’s, which was mediocre(but Abraham is a very nice guy). I had no expectations whatsoever, but am willing to try anything once and the buzz around town(at least from a nearby beauty parlor) is «Check it out!» So my mom and I did just that for an early lunch today. Not crowded, but we still chose to sit in a less crowded room with a nice-sized booth because we like it private. My mom had the breakfast burrito and I settled on the Mediterranean Sampler. My mom was happy with her burrito and I would say the sampler is better than sex. Definitely the best type of dish like that I have had since moving away from Los Angeles 30 years ago! We both had the mango juice and it was fabulous! The sampler had falafel(nicely cooked and crisp, the way I like it), hummus, pita, side Greek salad with a very tasty dressing I can’t pronounce or spell, and grape leaves filled with rice. I had missed breakfast this morning, and happy I did, because I ate every morsel of this dish! For dessert, my mother and I shared baklava(again, the best I’ve had since moving from Los Angeles) and a mint ice cream covered in hard chocolate(delish). Nearly everything is made fresh onsite(which explains why it is good). I am already planning my next meal there! Merna told me sometimes they make a different type of baklava with a cream inside so can’t wait to sample that one. Merna is friendly, outgoing, and knows what she is doing, to be sure. May Merna’s be around through my retirement years!

We moved to the area about seven years ago. This restaurant was in place, but, from reading reviews, we had no desire to try it out. Then, about a month ago, we started seeing very nice reviews, and, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to check it out for lunch. I went in on a Tuesday at around 1PM. There were a few tables occupied, but it was pretty empty. I was seated by Merna and had a conversation with her. During the exchange I found out that her family had operated this restaurant a number of years, but that she had recently taken it over. The family is Egyptian, hence the Middle-Eastern Cuisine. I am a sucker for homemade Chicken Pot Pie and they happened to have it as a special. It. Was. Delicious. Probably the best I’ve ever had! Lots of chicken, veggies and sauce and the flakiest pastry I can imagine. Licked the plate! In addition, when Merna found out that my wife is Lebanese she brought out a couple of grape leaves and, later, a couple of deserts. I am generally not a big fan of grape leaves — these were great. Very fresh and very moist with no overpowering tastes — would definitely have again. The desserts were a piece of baklava and something else. The baklava was very light, without the frequently overpowering honey, etc. More on «something else» later. Lunch was so good that wife and I went back for dinner two days later. We shared an appetizer platter. All Middle-Eastern stuff — everything delicious — and remember that we now have a «Middle-Easterner» as part judge. Wife then had a salad with chicken breast, feta, olives, plus all the usual stuff. Fresh, Delicious. Me? They still had the Pot Pie, so I had to get it again — licked the plate one more time… We also shared a carafe of their house cabernet — very nice and very reasonable.(They currently have beer and wine, but are planning to have a full bar. Hope that they pull this off.) I then reminded Merna of the dessert that I had had at lunch, and she brought us some. Wonderful again: tastes of coconut, some honey and other stuff. The problem is that I can’t remember what it’s called!(Memory is the 3rd thing to go and I can’t remember the first two…) I even had Merna write it down for me, but can’t find the piece of paper! What’s really crazy is that the Lebanese wife cannot remember ever having this, so it must be much more Egyptian oriented. Will definitely have it again and will update this review with the name. In the meantime, met Merna’s dad(Abe, I think — that memory thing is a problem.) He is the creator of the the Chicken Pot Pie and bakes the pastry shell! He says that the Corned Beef Hash is also delicious. Also saw many other relatives preparing food for the weekend. Definitely a family operation! Merna told us that she plans to expand, possibly add a buffet, go to full bar, etc. We will do our best to support. This is a great addition to the neighborhood! Go spend some money and enjoy yourself!
