I have been coming to this pool for several years and have done both lap swimming and water aerobics here. I’ve had consistently good experiences with the pool itself. This is an outdoor pool and it is currently open year round although the non-summer hours are limited. The pool always seems clean even in the summer when it sees heavy use. They don’t use an eyewatering amount of chlorine. The temperature varies some but is usually on the cool side. The pool is accessible to people with mobility limitations. The parking lot is right out front so you don’t have to walk a block to get to the pool after parking. There are stairs for getting in and out of the water and not just ladders. There is also a lift, although I’ve never seen it in use. During afternoon lap swimming I almost never have to share a lane. The price for a drop-in swim is reasonable(currently $ 4 for residents/$ 5 for non-residents; monthly passes are also available). The office staff sometimes seem like they didn’t get much training. The water aerobics program is limited to summers two days a week. There are several instructors; some are better than others but they are all fun.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood shy or 5 years now and have enjoyed coming to the neighborhood pool with my daughter and never had a complaint until today. I came with my mom and two little ones under 4 and although the website claims upon request they will open the little pool for little one upon request but when I requested they didn’t refuse but claimed there wasn’t a lifeguard available. Although there was a lifeguard casually chatting away with another lifeguard… very unprofessional. This is the first time in the 5 years I am profoundly disappointed with the services at the Belle Haven community pool.
