Just started training here after a 5 year stint at Equinox. Really liked my trainer, but the porn on the walls and the«I’m cooler than you» vibe wore me out. Elementus is a great neighborhood training place. Very clean, functional training equipment. All the trainers are independent and are full time trainers. So far I’m loving the proximity, and the facility.

Great trainers and a great gym make Elementus a top place to train. All the trainers are knowledgeable and have a strong focus on developing a workout regimen that best fits with your body and fitness goals. They have all the necessary weights, medicine balls, bands, dumbbells, and other«torture» devices. Also nice is the fact that many of the trainers have worked together for years and seamlessly substitute for your trainer when he/she is not available. I have worked out with my trainer(Si) for 7 years now and while she is new to Elementus, she and I know most of the Elementus trainers from Axis. I am a huge fan(super, super fan) of Si but when she is not available, I am comfortable with her colleagues. While the cost per session is high, it is worth every penny. Think of it as an investment in you and your health. It will pay massive dividends now and in the future.

Ryan and Eric run a great facility. Based on client retention, knowledge, and my own experience at Elemetus I can see why folks choose to workout here rather than a regular gym. What used to be a «gym rat’s» side job is now a professional field that integrates modalities like physical therapy, Feldenkrise, Pilates, Martial arts, yoga, and advanced strength/conditioning training to help the full spectrum of clients. All the trainers at Elementus understand this and keep their knowledge base diverse. If you need help with general fitness, weight loss, sports specific training, preventative maintenance or massage, hire a trainer from Elementus.

Ryan at III Pillars is a great guy. He really seems to understand the human body(in general), and works with you to understand YOUR body with all its idiosyncrasies, and to tailor the right strength and flexibility program for YOU. He’s also been very willing to recommend other modalities, like Feldenkrais — I’ve always got the impression that he’s driven by getting to the result that’s best for me, rather than increasing his billing hours. And he is, as I said, just a super decent guy in person. Hmmm, writing this review reminds me that I should probably see him more often.
