This location used to be a cafeteria owned and operated by a super nice little family before management kicked them out. We went from good hearty meals at affordable prices to Lee’s Deli — a chain restaurant that has the same thing all the time. The staff is nice, the place is clean, the food is mediocre but the price keeps going up! When they opened, their prices were $ 6.25/lb. Then the prices went up to $ 6.75… Then $ 7.25. And now it’s even more! There was a ridiculous note on the window blaming the rising prices on everything under the sun: — global warming, — high gas prices, — drought, — health care insurance, — raising minimum wage, And the list went on and on. Very disappointed with pricey mediocre food. I avoid this place every chance possible.

I ordered a turkey sandwich on a dutch crunch bun, which is a little bit extra money compared to regular sliced bread. I think some people like that their turkey is sliced thick and has the texture of carved meat instead of thin slippery slices, but I found that the thickness correlated with blandness. I was not entirely dissatisfied with the sandwich, since you can customize it to your liking, but the one thing that I couldn’t change which was the quality of the meat was not salty enough. Maybe next time I would add some seasoning myself, which is not a big deal. The total was ~$ 5, which is a relatively cheap price for a hefty sandwich.

The food is decent. A little on the expensive side for what it is, but there are a ton of choices at the hot bar. Orange chicken is solid. Food by the pound, so it may add up on you more quickly than you think. Decently fresh for most of the lunch hour, but your money won’t be well spent if you go much after 1 or so. Rice won’t be fresh anymore, some things will be missing. Probably unavoidable, but YMMV if you don’t get in early. The sandwiches are probably a better deal if you are into them. Your call.

WHY?! They raised their prices and have become stingy with their sandwiches; charging extra for ingredients like jalapenos in their veggie sandwich, or using less avocado for their avocado sandwich. If you can, best to avoid and go elsewhere unless you cannot tear away from your desk and need to eat something.

This is the spot I come to for a decent cheap sandwich, or when I’m in the mood for overpriced mediocre dim sum. The Lee’s Deli is located inside the etrade building and offers all kinds of food. You’ve got the make your own salad bar, Chinese fast food and dim sum. At the deli they can make almost any kind of ssndwich you want. They offer burgers and ramen/noodles but I would stay from these options as they take more than 10 minutes to cook and prepare and just aren’t that good. I do like their fries for whatever reason but I don’t think they offer those anymore. I really like their club sandwich. They make it big-mac style on 3 slices of bread, I personally just get it as a normal sandwich. I would have to say their sandwiches are the best thing they have here if you’re not into the salad bar. You’re not going to find the crazy choices you can get at Ike’s, but for a basic sandwich you really can’t do much better than Lee’s. The other thing I get here are the siu mai and sticky rice pillows. I usually mix these items with some chow mein and it can definitely get expensive fast, especially with the rice pillows. Those little suckers are pretty heavy but if you only get dimsum, the prices get a little better I think. Either way, I very rarely get these items but sometimes the chinese in me just can’t say no even though I know I can get better elsewhere. Overall I want to give this place more stars. The variety is pretty good and it’s not that bad for a quick bite. That being said, this place still won’t be on top of my list of places to eat near work because I just get sick of the food too fast. It’s decent and cheap but I never get that excited about coming here for whatever reason.

Hot buffet and cold salad bar. $ 7/lb. Have to watch the items or lunch gets expensive fast. Fresh cooked vegetables. Great value in turkey sw. The biggest $ 5.70 turkey sandwich I ever bought. never saw a sw with this amount of turkey in it. BFast sandwacies, $ 3.60. great value; much better than anything available from fast food for starbucks for bfast. dimsum available.

Extremely OVERPRICED for amount you get. A small plastic container of items from salad bar cost $ 7.00. Container had a few artichoke hearts, peppers, kidney and garbanzo beans and a slice of avocado. Pot stickers are always hard and although the hot food is kept in hot containers, by the time you pay and out the door you have to reheat. I have tried their variety of soups and all are always bland. At buffet counter all they have is Chinese and Salad Bar. They should offer pasta, pizza, etc. Why is it all Chinese food? Again, they are way overpriced. And, they just increased their prices blaming it on the drought. Ridiculous. Complex should subsidize some of the cost same as Apple, Google, Facebook, etc. does. The positive is if you forgot to bring lunch or can’t go out to get lunch it is convenient so you don’t starve to death.

With competition, this place would probably be a 3 or maybe even a 2 star, but given the lack of choices in the area, esp. within walking distance, I’m giving them 4 stars. You can get a hot meal(price by weight), decent fruits/veggies, and sandwiches/banhmi. It’s been my lifeline on days when we don’t cater lunch and I don’t feel like driving.

This review is purely on the cronuts. All Lee’s locations sell them(prepackaged) now, with availability depending on the time of day, and in several flavors. I tried the glazed one and found it very greasy on the outside yet incredibly DRY on the inside layers. It was also sickeningly sweet. I did not finish it. For a superior cronut south of SF, I suggest Paris Baguette.
