Picked up a cake last week, it was seriously the best cheesecake I have ever had! You should try it if you have a chance.

Did you guys change recipe? Ive been grabbing cheesecake from you guys whenever im in the area and have been loving it! I stopped by yesterday, grabbed few cheesecake. Very excited to eat it as usual. But the taste and texture is different from before. It not quite as delicate as before. size is getting smaller and no raspberry on top anymore either although taste and texture is my main issue. what happened?

A very delicious traditional cheesecake. I was very lucky to get my two cakes before Christmas, here at Namesake. Cherith cook/owner was super nice and very punctual. I will try a different topping, even my Raspberry was just great!!! There were no seed in the Raspberry to stick between your teeth.

Delicious! The perfect combination of light and sweet. Crust is one of the best I have ever tasted. We had 8 desserts at Thanksgiving and this was by far the favorite! Can’t wait to buy another one!

Probably the best cheese cake in the world (I hope my mom doesn’t read that, she’s been trying so hard…) Anyway, I love the cakes and keep buying them for every special party or event. My guests are always happy!

NameSake does it again! Cherith is amazing! Never disappoints, NEVER! The cheesecake is light, not too sweet and the raspberry sauce is killer. Hand made by Cherith everyday. Don’t miss out!

Just had namesake cheesecake at The Grandview restaurant for the first time and I truly am at a loss for words. My roommate is absolutely addicted and has been raving to me about this absolutely heavenly taste for years. I always thought, «ok maybe it’s good but all cheesecake is good. Carbs + dessert = all you need in life. What could possibly make this cheesecake better than any of the other cheesecakes I’ve had?» Let me tell you Unilocalers, you have not lived until you have tasted this. It’s not only a cheesecake, it’s an positive emotional experience.

I’m not entirely sure of the logistics of this place because I went at an odd hour and was basically told that you’re supposed to call ahead and place an order to be picked up. Long story short, my friend and I were able to try the cheesecake(to make up for hiking the dish, obviously) and we sat in her car and devoured the whole thing. SOGOOOOOOD. Now I haven’t met a cheesecake that I didn’t like but this was particularly creamy and delicious, I look forward to going back!

Delicious! The best cheesecake! I The owner is very nice and friendly. I ordered one via email, she responded within an hour, and cake was baked fresh and was ready to go when I picked it up. I moved to NYC, but I order 9 inch-cake all for myself, and bring it back to NY everytime I go to Palo Alto/Menlo Park. MUSTHAVECHEESECAKE and I’m hoping she will eventually do order online and ship to NYC.

This hidden gem has the best cheesecake I’ve ever had!!! I was looking for a local cheesecake shop or bakery for an office birthday, and found Namesake online. It was the best find ever! Now everyone in the office wants their cheesecake for their birthdays! We all look forward to it. The cheesecake is rich, creamy and delicious with a buttery graham cracker crust. It has the top layer of sour cream making the cheesecake just the right amount of sweet and tart. You do need to order ahead, and sometimes the shop is a little busy. The owner isn’t always there and they share the space with another business, so checkout can be confusing at times. However, this won’t stop us from coming back time and time again. It’s seriously amazing!!!’

Well it’s that time of year and once again I got my mother a New York style cheesecake from Namesake for Mothers Day. She made it a point to remind me last week that as much as she loves flowers, she loved last years cheesecake more. Mamma wants, mamma gets!!! Seriously, this place is awesome. It’s my go to place for desserts for dinner parties. The owner is awesome! She grew up here so it’s always nice to support a small, local business. They won’t disappoint. Office party, bday party, major case of the munchies??? Hit up Namesake Cheesecake! Trust me.

Drove a long way, over 2 hrs through traffic to a a cheesecake shop, only to find that not only do they not have anycheesecake, but also the person who makes it is on vacation? Going on vacation is one thing but not leaving enough cheesecake for sale at a cheesecake bakery shop that specializes in cheesecake when«you» the owner decide to take a break and get away on a cheesecake profit vacation. Called the other day just to see if anyone would pick up and no one did and it was only barely after just 3 pm. Work ethic=lazy. Ive put in my share. I make better cheesecakes at home anyway. For now ill stick to Zanzes. At least when zanzes owners are out, they still have plenty of cheesecake for sale… at their cheesecake shop? Lol. Plus not the biggest fan of the plasticky snotted part of town. Hahaha

This place is a strange operation. Whenever I call this business to place an order, no one ever picks up the phone, the voicemail is always full and cannot leave a message. I tried it 3 times in the last 3 months, Finally I sent an email to her and she responded. Went to the location in Menlo Park, which I didn’t think this place ever opens because no one ever picks up the phone. To my suprise, they are not a bakery, but rather a sandwich and salad place, with a few cheesecake in the display fridge. I ordered a gluten free cheesecake. First of all, everyone’s preference is different. Namesake cheesecake is on the sour side, her cheesecake is half layer of cheesecake and half layer of sour cream(with lemon juice and sugar) I m more used to a thin layer of sour cream as topping, not half the cheesecake. So, not my favorite and quiet disappointed. The GF graham cracker crust was a bit too moist. However if you like your cheesecake on the sour side, you would like this cheesecake.

Just strolled over there as an «office fieldtrip» lol because everyone kept talking about the sandwih spot down the street. Super cute place, friendly atmosphere… we had no idea we walking into Cheesecake heaven! The sandwiches and cookies we all had were delicious… The cheesecake is next on the list… =)

I bought a plain cheesecake for my bosses birthday. HOLYJESUS. It was amazeballz, and everyone was saying it was the best cheesecake they had ever had. I put the remainder in the office fridge, labeling as «Cheesecake from the G-d’s». YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I was searching for a pie shop for Thanksgiving and came across Namesake. Luckily it was close to my work so I stopped by on my lunch break. I wasn’t sure what to expect since the shop looked quite small from El Camino. Apparently they have takeout food for lunch, including sandwiches and soup. I didn’t have a chance to try them but will definitely come back another time. The story behind the cheesecake is that Cherith Lorraine, who owned several Bay Area restaurants, shared the secret recipe with only one person: Cherith Spicer, who started Namesake Cheescake. The cheesecakes are handcrafted and take 2 days to make. I tried a slice of the original cheesecake, and I have to agree with the other Unilocalers. It’s the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted! Even though it’s «plain,» the flavor and texture are amazing. The quality of the ingredients is excellent and you can taste the freshness of the cheesecake. It has a buttery graham cracker crust, a layer of cream cheese, and a layer of sour cream. There is also a hint of citrus in each bite. They have some toppings available, such as oreo, raspberry, seasonal fruit, and chocolate sauce. I recommend calling ahead to see what is available or to reserve a cheesecake before stopping by. The 6″ plain is $ 20 and the 9″ plain is $ 30. One slice was about $ 4 after tax.

UPDATE: Owner says she is open weekdays M-F 9am-3pm…sorry we missed that. She also encouraged us to come in even if she was closed… We hoofed it down to check this place out… Dark? A woman was working on catering, and did offer to sell us what they had… which was not on display. We declined. Storefront not open on Saturday?
