Great place to grab a quick, healthy lunch for a decent price. You have a lot of options(Chipotle style), and the portions are very filling, whether you get your falafel/shawarma over rice, salad, or a wrap. They have nice plastic cups for cool water too. A big downside is the long line and crowded parking lot during lunchtime, but other than that, this is a favorite workday lunch spot.

This place is phenomenal. I got chicken shawarma with a side of pita bread. The service was very quick. The portion size was big. The food was delicious. The restaurant was very neat and clean. Overall a great experience. A must go.

Stopped in for lunch and had the shawarma chicken wrap. Great flavor and very friendly staff. It reminded me of a place we used to go to for lunch in Malta.

Had to grab a quick lunch for my first day at my new job and found this spot on Unilocal – Thanks fellow Unilocalers! + Ordered a Falafel with Salad, and Hummus and Spicy Tahini $ 8.95 YUM! I highly recommend it. She forgot my avocado for an additional $ 1 but that’s prob my fault, I speak on the soft side so guessing she didnt hear me. Can’t blame her for that. You can also get Feta for an additional $ 1 too. I enjoyed it a lot! Fresh ingredients, and the falafels were crispy on the outside and tasty. Simple and large font/clear step-by-step menu, super efficient(barely had to wait even when I was maybe 8th in line). If I could make a couple of recommendations, it would be to perhaps: 1) lower the plexiglass by a couple of inches… it’s hard to hear the staff ask about the ingredients and for them to hear the customers(I heard the girl behind me tell the staff she couldnt hear the options she was just told. she’s short like me, 5’4″ with heels, lol), although I understand the high barrier means less contamination of food!!! So maybe scratch this one… lol. 2) ask if we need utensils with our meals(I ordered take out), or to let us know it’s on the side to help ourselves. I walked out with no utensils and was bummed I couldnt eat it and had to hunt for utensils when I got back to the office). I assumed utensils were already in the take out bag, shucks. I had to use the bathroom there and was in a rush, so the staff let me leave my paid meal on the side at the register until I returned. I bolted out as soon as I could without checking or knowing I needed to grab utensils. Lessons learned! I am def coming back. Easy to order and less than $ 10 :-)

The boy and I shared a falafel rice bowl($ 7.95) and a chicken shawerma rice bowl($ 8.95). We both agreed that the falafel was better than the chicken, which tasted just like normal cooked chicken without any special seasoning. As other Unilocal reviewers have described, Sajj is a Middle Eastern Chipotle. After you pick falafel or meat as the feature of your meal, in the protein section, oddly, you can add cauliflower, eggplant, and/or garbanzo beans. Next, in the veggie section, you can add hummus, garlic sauce, and/or tzatziki sauce. The vegetables choices consist of a regular spring lettuce mix, marinated onions, marinated purple cabbage, beets, cucumber and tomato salsa, jalapenos, and a few other options. They charge an additional $ 1 for guacamole(pass) and even also for feta cheese, which seems a bit stiff. Lastly, you can add tahini sauce at your choice of spicy level. The boy said that the spicy tahini is not that spicy. The complimentary lentil soup was actually a highlight of the meal for me. I enjoyed the pita chip they threw into the soup as an initially crunchy garnish that slowly soaked up the rich flavor or the broth. Parking during weekday lunch amidst the Facebook and other Silicon Valley employees crowd might be difficult, but a lot of cars will come and go so if you drive slowly through the lot a space will be bound to open up. One of the biggest pros of Sajj is that it is both cheaper and gives more food than neighboring options.

SAJJ was pretty good. Lots of options for vegetarians, huge portions. I’ve been to other Falafel places that gave the option for baked falafel, rather than deep fried. They didn’t appear to have that option here. Parking is a mess here, and other patrons can be aggressive in hunting for spaces. You are better off parking on the street than in the plaza.

Ordered via Order Ahead. Came about 5 min late but even with the 35 minute heads up, they forgot to start the order, saying«we’re working the order now», while I could tell they simply hadn’t started it. It would have been better to be honest and apologize(and provide a realistic time estimate) than trying to spin the mistake and having me wait a long time. Also they were out of Steak so we had to substitute with Chicken on 5 of our 9 orders. The ordering and dining experience is just like Chipotle. I wished their group ordering was better handled though like Chipotle, instead they seemed understaffed. Haven’t tried the food yet but it looks and smells good. Will come back again to update if our company tries them a few more times and also to comment on the food quality.

3.5 stars! This place is good for a quick meal if you’re craving Mediterranean and don’t have time to go out to Redwood City or Palo Alto. Like a lot of the reviews are saying, it’s like a Mediterranean Chipotle but definitely tastier!(Sorry Chipotle). Ordered combination of Falafel and chicken shawarma over salad and rice(boom double combo!) With all the toppings except eggplant and cheese. Got it with the tzatziki yogurt and spicy tahini sauce. Definitely a good portion for the price. Lunch came with lentil soup which was good, just a little watered down than I’m used to. It was just okay. It had good flavor though I got bored of it as I went along. I’d probably come back. Wish the peppers they have on display were actually spicy though, otherwise good food for a quick lunch? Expect leftovers!

Bad falafel. Completely burned. See pic. Place is kinda dirty & service was eeeeh. The rest of the bowl I got was decent… But the falafel was a big disappointment.

Great burrito for a Mediterranean food truck. The steak was juicy, the veggies were fresh. If you see this food truck somewhere, give them a try. The selection was limited, but the servers were nice.

This place is overrated it’s not what I was expecting the flavors are really bland and if I didn’t have the forethought to pick up the sauce I would have given this place 1 star. The cilantro sauce is hella good which is why I gave this place 3 stars

I’m so sick of this Chipotle-style trend, but this place is AMAZING! I love this place! The food is delicious, easy on the wallet, and you get a LOT of it. Win win WIN! Because it’s Chipotle-inspired, ordering is a breeze, even if you’ve never been here before. You have your base, your meat and then all the toppings. I always get myself a salad with chicken«shawafel» and everything else. Unfortunately they don’t have the iconic lamb option but everything was super delicious, very filling, and the best part is they aren’t stingy when it comes to the toppings! I have yet to try their pitas, but if you can make something like a boring salad be drool-worthy, I’m sure you can’t be disappointed by anything here. The main drawback about this location is the parking. It’s a super tiny plaza with many cars that come in and out. Most of the time it’s not TOO big of an issue, but it exists and it can be annoying.

What! Where have you been all my life??? This food truck is by far the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in a loooong time. They started coming over to Seaport Village(In redwood city) right by my office, and I literally plan my lunch around when they are going to show up now because they are so good. Their food is ABSOLUTELY amazing and soooo delicious. omggg nom nom nom I always get the Shwalafel Bowl(not even sure that’s an actual word haha) with beef because I’m typically on a strict paleo diet, and good grief it is yummy! They serve a HUGE portion so well worth the price and there is so much flavor you would have thought it was home cooked by your middle eastern grandmother… assuming you have one ;) Aside from all that… the people that work on the truck are so damn friendly. I think the gentleman I always see onboard is the owner? But either way he talks to you like you’re his sibling and he’s fixing you a dish for dinner. So nice. Well done SAJJ… you guys rock! please keep coming back to Seaport Village!!!

Couldn’t believe how much I liked this place. I’ll say what everyone else has said. It’s Middle Eastern Chipotle. Same restaurant feel, same vibe, same setup, same assembly line, same price point. Had a delicious salad with all kinds of chicken and spices and lentils all over it, for about $ 12. This place was a really pleasant surprise, and now I wish there was one in my neighborhood.

Sajj is a Mediterranean restaurant that bit Chipotle’s style by offering their food in a similar process while designing the menu and layout to give people the Chipotle experience. The food is very tasty, but don’t expect there to be spits with meat being carved in front of you. The food tastes authentic, but similar to Chipotle, the proteins(chicken, beef, pork) are in a tray. This means the meat can be a little dry. The few times I’ve been here, the meat was fine(I have only been there for lunch). Overall, the food is great! The toppings are hearty and savory. Baba ganoush, hummus, feta cheese, tzatziki, etc. If you get all toppings, you’ll have a heavy bowl on your hands. This place is a copy cat Chipotle, but its good at that it does. The tamarind drink is wonderful, best I’ve ever had outside of Mexico.
